  1. Keen sailor but I hate racing. I prefer to sail traditional boats with a tiller in one hand and a beer in the other. Why hurry? If you are in a rush take a jetski. Any like minded around? Will have small traditional sailing boat in a couple of months.

    Hello,

Would you like to share a catamaran like Hobie Wave and have a ride on weekends as a 2 man crew? I was looking for the companion...

Don't mind about a beer or two on a beach right after.

  2. Hello,

I'm 33 y.o. family man, live in Pattaya with my family.

I'm looking for the companion to sail a Hobie Wave/Getaway catamaran at
Jomtien beach on weekends. There are 3 catamarans for rent at this place.

I did sail it several times alone, it was fun but it seems like it's much
batter and more fun to go out as a 2 man crew as you can go faster and manage a
    boat easier.

So if anyone want to share a ride on catamaran and get a bit of wind, salt
water and excitement - please let me know.

Previous sailing experience will be a big plus.

    Thanks.
    Paul

  3. Kasikorn bank - what a rippo bank is that!

Always cheating on cross-rates and exchaneg rates. I wouldn't wonder they have stolen that money by themselfs.

And no wonder they turned their back on a client after all. This is Kasikorn.

BTW, don't they have some sort of bank account insurance in this country??..

  4. BTW if there is anyone who want to blast around at Na Jomtien - I would love to make a company. I ride at Na Jomtien close to Pinnacle resort.

And one more thing: I'm looking for a used Formula board to buy. So if anyone has something to offer pls let me know!

  5. Hello,

I live in Pattaya, I do not have a boat yet, but I would really love to join some sailing team or get some sort of training sailing a sailsboat or a catamaran.
Or maybe someone is looking for a men in a sailing crew? I would love to join!
I don't much of experience in sailing a boat (I'm a windsurfer and occasional I ride a small catamarans myself).
But I'm really looking forward to be a part of a crew!
Please PM me in any suggestions! Thank you!

  6. Hello,

I was thinking about to purchase a used small sail boat or small sail catamaran like Hobie Wave for a private use only.
Basically I just want to spend my free time with a family somewhere. And having a ride on your own boat sounds like fun to me.
But I was wondering if it's a good idea after all to purchase a boat...
Questions like storage, maintenance and difficulties to sell it afterward are my major concerns.
Maybe it's better not to go that far and rent it instead whenever you need it.
Could anyone share an opinion regarding this?
I will appreciate it! Thank you.

  7. Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can offer some second hand Hobie Wave/Getaway catamaran for sale in Thailand?
I live in Pattaya, and I am looking for a second hand not overpriced catamaran for a weekend fun.
Please let me know if you have something? Thank you.

  8. There would probably be no shortage of water in Thailand if Thais were prepared to pay more for their water than for petrol (assuming all the profits were channelled back into water infrastructure!).

    R21

Please, with all the respect to your qualifications and my unprofessional attitude towards the topic. But I realize there is a huuuuge difference in terms of water resources when we talk about large and pretty settled country such as Thailand which has a rain forest, mountains, large rivers and a number of lakes, tropical rains, huuuuge costal line, etc. etc and some middle east countries literally in the middle of no-mans land. And yet they manage somehow to provide a decent water supply to its populations.

And on the other hand Thais still cannot figure this out, letting people without any mains water supply for weeks if not months thinking it’s a normal situation. It’s not in my home country anyways.

Please, give me a break, but it sounds ridiculous from my point of view.

And if you think that it’s a matter of money - I tell you this. I just paid 300 BTH for 2 m3 of water which is not yet clean enough to drink and hardly could be used for anything related to cooking. I guess this is not cheap even in western countries ha?

In my opinion this has nothing to do with the lack of resources, but the lack of clever and profession management among Thais responsible figures. Like almost everywhere else in this country.

  9. IMHO it sounds ridiculous when people talk about water consumption and peeing/flushing a toilet after it in a large tropical country full of natural water resources. And surrounded by water. This is ridiculous!

Even Arab countries in the middle of the <deleted>*ing desert DO NOT have this kind of water supply problems that i.e Pattaya has.

For God sake, Thai's, pull yourself together from another sabai-sabai - this is not a rocket science to get the mains up and running once and for all.

  10. I assume what they (transport company) call "insurance" - is actually a financing of the suffered passages from their own pocket.

Sorry, don't understand, care to explain?

My guess was that travel company did not have any proper insurance and they would be covering medical expenses from their own funds calling it "insurance" to the public and press so that no one will question their “professional attitude toward tourists”.

In fact I don’t think there are any stupid enough insurance agents in Thailand who will be willing to cover speedboat passengers in this country. Same goes to Jetski, etc.

Even though I knew once a British man in Pattaya who had insurance converging his clients who were renting motorbikes at his shop. But that was a farang way of doing things not thais.

  11. I assume what they (transport company) call "insurance" - is actually a financing of the suffered passages from their own pocket.

And yes, I agree, every type of transport here is driven by money. Security and common sense are the last things to be mentioned.

I always wondered why air transport is the only thing that seems to be safe in this country.

  12. I still have no mains water supply working. Sometimes it goes during the night, but none during daytime.

Today no water at all during the whole day. My tank is empty soon.

Does anyone know whats going on and when will it be fixed?

  13. ...at all times I saw the soldiers with big guns.

Yeah yeah, this is a feature of Latin America/Caribbean’s - people with big guns and barbed wire everywhere. IMHO this looks scary and depressing.

And I don't really want to see that here in SE Asia...!! even if they are in temporary need of that.

    >365 day crime crackdown

+1, they really need that, and not only in a crime fields but also in civil law, tourism industry, business and other areas!

  14. May she rest in peace. It's a tragedy.

But this will be happening until Thais realize there should be some modern and sickly rules applied.

The same goes to motorbikes where people getting killed daily.

Unfortunately this is Asia, so the human death does not count as tragedy and extraordinary accident but a regular thing. And easy money and fun has a higher priority rather than a common sense.

So be careful and take precautions yourself. Locals don't care about your safety in this part of the world.

  15. Frankly speaking it really looks like a scam.

Just close up the stop cocks telling stories that it's a pipe crack down and get bucks in the pocket from a stupid people thinking it's another Pattayas disaster with the water supply in the middle of the dry season....what a <deleted>!

Water scam is no different than other scams around here.

  16. Still no water at Jomtien, second road.

I ordered a car-tank and filled in my tank in the garden.

One thing though is that the water looks pretty dirty. Could they actually get this water somewhere from the lake on a country-side?..Is it safe?

Are there any antiseptics that could be applied to the water in order to make sure its safe to use? (not to drink)

  17. Second road Jomtien - no water in our village for a couple of days and still got none.

Those who lived here longer then we do – already ordered a car-tank yesterday to fill in their water tanks.

Now I understand why… coz no one knows when the water supply will start working again.
