  1. I think i should take the back seat with this one and keep my mouth shut!! I also know that some of their better mates also know and won't say anything to them.

I'll use the ostrich style of dealing with problems and just stick my head in the sand :o

Maybe, just maybe he knows and is, erm, 'ok' with the situation.

    :D

  2. If you knew that two of your friends (but not really friends) wifes were doing the dirty behind their backs would you tell them??

I am now faced with this problem and don't know what to do!! On the one side it's nothing to do with me so don't get involued BUT on the other side their wives are complete sluts!!

Please give me some help here :o

    :D

If it's true, I'd certainly tell them but you would have to be 101% in your allegations. Do you have any kind of proof?

I'd certainly want to be told if my wife was doing the dirty, what if it was yours? Would you want to be told?

  3. Route 402 off Phuket - Route 4 to Ao Luk - Route 4035 through Plaiphraya, Phrasaeng to Wiang Sa - Turn right and drive south for 40km - you will see a sign for Nakhonsithammarat on the left, turn left here and follow the road (about 50km) through Lan Saka until you come to a T-junction (NST to the right Phromkiri to the left) - turn left here and keep going all the way to the T-junction at the end. Tha Sala is signposted to the right, turn right here and Tha Sala is about 15-20 kms down that road. Easy.

Fairly good quiet roads most of the way. Enjoy.

  4. I agree that a bigger seat size will be more comfortable for longer rides. Although I think that any seat becomes uncomfortable after a few hours. I'm not a big fan of the Honda Phantom but I'm sure it would be more comfortable for longer stints.

I haven't done a ride as far as Phuket yet but I'm sure that when I do I will need to take a lot of breaks. I did the Don Sak ride with no breaks but Phuket is a lot further.

I also concur that the Yaris is a more suitable car for NST city driving. The streets are narrow and parking can get a bit scarce, so the smaller the vehicle the better. Ideally I think you need a small car/bike (yes, a girl's one) for the city and a bigger, more powerful vehicle for longer stints on more open roads. Isn't it a pain in the arse to have a bike that can hit 250km/h but you're stuck behind a songthaew doing 40km/h in 1st gear? Unless you intend to do some longer trips, a big bike in the city will do more harm than good.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents..let me know what bike you end up going for. I saw some big bikes for rent in Samui but they only had 1000cc and it's a bit too big a jump from 150cc...also, the traffic in Samui was a little busy so I decided against it...maybe a 500cc would be a little easier to manage at this stage.

It's usually the songtaews stuck behind Snowflake!

    :o

  5. ..... and a Jolly Merry Chrimbo to you too!

(cheesed off today coz I gotta work :bah: )

Just about to put the turkey in the oven :D:D some people get decent holidays over the festive season :D:D

enjoy your day at work VTR...

Hehe, I might be round yours tonight!

    :o

  6. Chris, isn't there another falang driving around on a yellow CBR150?? i'm sure i've seem him racing around Nakhon!! he might be interested as well.. will find out who he is.

I know him. Won't post his name here but I did ask him if he was interested. He said that he only likes the bike for getting from A - B and nothing else.

    :o

  7. Chris, there used to be quite a few bikers here with bikes going way up to 1500cc. I love bikes, bigger the better but due to a minor mishap a while ago, the Mrs will only let me on a Wave now. :D

Anyway, with all the rain we're having, it's nice to sit in the old car watchin' you lot get wet. :o:D

Oh yeah, and less of the 'old' please!

  8. I wonder if it's like the SeaTran ferry to Samui where you may buy a round trip ticket and reserve an exact return time. I learned about this the hard way, of course. We waited at the Samui pier for about 5 hours one sunday waiting for a spot on the boat.

You can buy return trips with Raja. They'll tell you the time of your outbound boat, and the return time is up to you. If you have a return ticket, there's a special queue for you at Lipa Noi and you pretty much get on the first boat. That's for Samui - not sure if they do the same with the Phangngan boats as I haven't been over there for a while.

(But keep it quiet or else everyone will have a rtn ticket and it'll be back to square one!) :o

  9. Did somebody mention alcohol?

    :o

Are you quoting anyone... everytime they mention Alcohol VTR1000? :D This seems to be your third one. I'm a big fan of booze as well. My great buddy in NST in fact!drunk.gif So wanna have a couple of beers at rock? Haven't been there for ages!

Looks like we have the same buddy! :D

  10. The Pavillion is pretty good. Centre of town, more or less and a couple of bars just around the corner. A few cheaper places in the area but it's Chrimbo so why scrimp?

Not a great deal to do once you've walked on the beach and been to the zoo though - that's why the bars are there! :o

    Enjoy.

  11. Jeez, let's all write about Nakhon everyday and get loads more farang coming here .... and if we're really lucky Nakhon will become completely unrecognizable .... but we'll still like it because it will soon turn into another Phuket or Samui and then we'll all leave because we only ever came for the obligatory 2/3 years never to return

    Ssssssshhh!

    :o

That's the morning rant over for today.
