Dear all,
Where can I buy Churro (Spanish doughnut)?
Today I bought a box of Churro at ground floor of Terminal 21, but it is rather bad.
My sincere thanks,

Dear all,
Last week I visited the Gourmet Market and was astonished to find that they were selling expensive Japanese strawberries. A box of 9 berries would cost around 800 baht, so essential one equals 100 baht.
Are they really that special? Has anyone tried and what do you think?

Thanks, everyone. Maybe it is best to ask my family at home to buy from Amazon.

Perhaps this request is a little rare and strange. I would like to buy some puppets which may delight young children. Not just Thai-themed puppets, but also some which are inspired by Western fairy tales.
Do you know where one can buy those?
Thank you.

Hi dddave, could you pls give more info on the free lessons at Fortune Tower? Do we have to arrive at a particular time slot?
Thank you.

Another update: Yesterday I went looking for a capo for my acoustic guitar.
I visited all the guitar shops in Central World, including the Guitar Avenue. Strangely, none of those shops sell a capo.
The Music Collection at Siam Paragon has one at 700 baht, while the Music Solution near Pantip Plaza sells one at 600 baht.
I also tried the Pratunam market, but no one sold a guitar.

Thank you , keeniau96 and thomdixon for your excellent advice.

Thank you for all your suggestion so far.
I really love to buy a good weather bag, but there are two main difficulties:
1. Bargaining: How much is fair?
2. Is it real leather?
Any info on a store you trust is welcome.
-
Could you recommend some of your favorite shops to buy a bag, especially those smaller shops inside a shopping complex like MBK or Platinum Fashion Mall?
For example, although MBK is full of bag stores, I find it very difficult to buy anything there because you don't know which one to trust and most shops look the same.
BTW, I like the bags at Naraya.
Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I have to go to work during the weekdays, so sometimes when I go home, I want to take my toddler (3 year old) to somewhere as he likes to go out.
So far we have tried most shopping centres like Central, Siam Paragon, Emporium, etc. We also went to the Funarium.
Is there any other place that you might suggest going after 6pm?
Thank you.

Hello, just an update. You can find a cheap guitar, for about 2300 baht at the Music Collection store, 2nd floor at Siam Paragon. The brand name is Phantom. I don't know that brand - maybe a local Thai brand?
-
Thank you everyone. After reading your opinions, I decide I will buy a guitar at 4,000 baht.
I also found an English-speaking teacher who said I should pay about 400 baht per hour for his non-classical course. Is this fee reasonable?
Thank you.

I checked some taxi companies which have websites, and all of them ask for at least 1200 baht if you want a mini van /minibus to the airport.
I remember while I was at the Bangkok airport, it cost us 700 baht to rent a mini van to downtown Bangkok.
Do you know any company with that price so that we can go from downtown to the international airport?
-
I would not be surprised if 500 baht is not enough for a cheap guitar. But I still want to ask for some information.
I want to play the guitar. But as I don't know how long my determination will last, I would like to buy a cheap guitar first to see how it goes.
Thank you.

When I was in Vietnam, apparently every taxi company there has a 4-seater or 7-seater taxi. You just call them and tell them which car you want. It is very simple: the use of meter is just the same.
Similarly, I want to have a 7-seater taxi to go around town, but I only want to pay for each trip, not for the whole day. Is it possible to do that?
-
Oh, do you mean that if I rent a van, they will charge me the whole day, not a single trip?

I could not find the Recovery CD that Dell said they sent me when I bought the computer two years ago. That is the problem.
-
Dear ShopBoy, the reason is most of them don't speak English or Thai, so we need to travel as a group.
-
Dear all, on the streets I only see small taxi coming by. Now I have a group of 5, 6 adults and don't know how to book a taxi for them:
1. To go around Bangkok
2. To travel to the international airport
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi dddave, thank you very much for your info. I will certainly visit them.
I suspect that my computer has a virus which is destroying everything.
What if they say I need to reformat everything, which would mean I need to install new version of Windows. Here in Bangkok, will they ask you to pay the full price for an official Windows version, or will they use a pirate copy?
-
Thanks for your kind advice.
What should you do if the shop asks you to leave the computer at their store and come back days later?
In that case, is a receipt enough? Your experience is greatly appreciated.

I have a Dell all-in-one desktop, which I brought me from the UK. Its warranty has expired.
Now it has some problems that I cannot solve.
Could you pls recommend some convenient and reliable places to repair the computer?
I suppose Dell also operates in Thailand. But in the UK, it was not convenient to use their service (this is just a personal opinion). I don't know if it is easier to bring the PC to a Dell centre here in Bangkok.
Any advice is welcome.

I would love to go to a bar or a hotel which feature bands playing easy listening songs. You know, ballads by Michael Buble, Bee Gees, Celine Dion, etc.
Could you recommends some places in central Bangkok?
I live near Siam BTS.
Thank you.

This is a question from my friend, who is yet a member of the forum.
He's from Vietnam. He is in Bangkok now and has just got a work permit and the non-immigrant visa.
His relatives are with him in Bangkok at the moment. As they are from Vietnam, they can stay for 30 days without a visa.
Now that his paperwork is completed, his relatives want to stay with him for another two months. Can they apply for a 90-day tourist visa in a one-stop centre in Bangkok? Or do they need to go back to Vietnam and apply there?
My sincere thanks,
Quality Of Those Cheap Japanese Stores In Bangkok?
in Bangkok
Posted
I guess most of you know there are many cheap Japanese stores in Bangkok, which have everything from kitchen tools, bathroom utilities to headphones. It is another version of 100-yen shops in Japan itself.
The price is very attractive. But do you know the quality? Do they last long?
I want to ask as I want to buy many of them to bring back to the UK.
Thank you.
