ManOnTheRoad, thank you for acting like a grown up and resisting the chance to troll, your maturity is refreshing.

well, i was saying cybersquatting is as poor ethically that you can get, WITHOUT being put into jail.... but maybe "kiddiporn ==jail" depends on the country thou....
-
lol, maybe i'm old fashioned? but yes, now that you make me think about it, I'd say extramarital relations and excessive gambling (is that still ethics?) is worse
anyway, i suppose i'm more upset at myself for giving advice to a cybersquater
-
Its a free world mate
maybe i didn't read the thread closely enough, but I was under the understanding that this was "just some other" dictionary word that you happened to grab at the right time.
If you are a cybersquater... as your reply implies.... then yeah.. this is about the lowest set of ethical values you can keep without being thrown in jail.
I don't mean to be overly offensive, but seriously, "go [expletive] yourself". cybersquater asking for (and getting) advice on how to exploit others.... really.... come on

i would assume xxxx k could range from 9999k to 0001k and since it's sent thru paypal, i assume something closer to the later but great luck, and glad you didn't get scammed like i was assuming!

The scam-talk here is nonsense. A few minutes work reveals if the text used in the domain has been trademarked.
Notwithstanding the fact you could independantly verify the lawyer's details.
To advise no action is dangerous at best.
the scam talk is not nonsense, as I do think it's appropriate to make Mr ManOnTheRoad aware of potentially very real dangers. If it's not a scam, then no harm in keeping your guard up.
Mr ManOnTheRoad should do as you suggest and do some fact-finding to determine if his domain name is trademarked. right here: http://www.uspto.gov/
and as for scammers always asking for your bank details, that only worked in the first few years and/or on total idiots. now days they do sneaky stuff like send you fake checks to cash and deposit for them, or have you call phone numbers that charge USD 20/minute

how much do you want to bet their next reply(s) will be along the lines of a 419 scam:
- we will offer you ONE MILLION DOLLARS, just wait while we get our paperwork figured out!
- by the way, i'm a sexy woman! i hope to have sex with you when i fly to finish our deal!
- oh the bank needs proof you have ownership! can you please setup an account at our bank? it requires a minimum 20k USD deposit to open the account because we will give you so much money! Here you can deposit this (fake) check in your account first to get the money, then just put the 20k into this new account!
- Did i mention that I want to have sex with you?
yadd yadda yadda
- we will offer you ONE MILLION DOLLARS, just wait while we get our paperwork figured out!

fyi, yes seems like my 3000 thb target price was unrealistic. however, i found a chinese company willing to sell me 10kg of 2x4 bricks for USD190 (6000 thb), though shipping was 90.
I'm trying to adjust both the shipping and the bricks to include 2x2 to 2x12 ranges so not sure what that final price will be.
also, there's the obvious question of quality and tarriffs... i'll let you know what happens with those

slightly off topic, but to restrict content, i bought an android tablet for my kid, and i use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kiddoware.kidsplace&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5raWRkb3dhcmUua2lkc3BsYWNlIl0. to restrict what apps he can use. I'd highly recomend that app if you use android.

i say, if you want them off the boob-tube, give them something else to do that's a compelling alternative. I'm trying to find tons of legos, for example.

For pics only I would advice picasa http://picasa.google.com/ I have been storing pics on it for the past 5 yrs...no issues.
sharing, tagging, photo effects, synching....and it's free...
maybe it's related to picasa now, but google drive is also a great option. use their desktop sync tool and it'll slowly push your stuff to cloud storage automagically.

my current favorite is cheap.co.th, as they have the lowest prices i've seen anywhere in Thailand (but still much higher than the USA?!!? ) and they send everything EMS.
The only drawbacks I see with cheap is they have a lot of products with no real descriptions, and they only accept wire-transfer, which means I have to go to a bank to complete the order
-
what i found are not labeled as legos, just compatable.
Thanks for the tip on "Toys", I'll put them as something related to prototyping construction materials

works for me too. I have problems some times with all sorts of domains if i use bittorrent. rebooting my router and the problems go away.
-
Please do not take offense, but I believe you are being scammed.
I do management for a company that has a bunch of domain names (some .th, .net, .com) and we frequently get spam mail with similar text. Either trademark, or copyright, etc... they are phishing you. ignore it.

we use google apps for business at my work, and the IT guy always hated igoogle so never let us use it. i don't know the details on why he hates it, but I suppose it's related to why google's canning it
-
i suppose their high price isn't a problem for you? I've never used them because searching around I've always found cheaper places.

Anyone bought a WD My Book Essential 3TB or similar from Pantip of Fortune recently? If so, what did you pay?
FYI, I got one from a place called Cheap.co.th. Here's the link to their 3gb My Book, but it's currently out of stock Their listed price is 6494 THB, but you can only see that from their search page, I guess because it's out of stock. Overall, this place has the lowest prices I've seen in Thailand (by far actually), and the round-trip on my order was only about 3 days. Good selection but half their products have very poor descriptions, so have to hunt around for magic mfg product ID's to find things they haven't manually put descriptions for.
-
well, seems like no one here cares about legos anymore, lol
FYI I still can not find anything after a comprehensive search here in Thailand, so I'm going to import from some chinese company i found on alibabba. hope the quality is good. i'll post here to let you guys know how it turns out.

I can't find anywhere in Thailand that sells "generic bulk building bricks" can someone please help?
There was a thread from 2 years ago, but none of the links are useful anymore: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/417791-searching-for-lego-or-similar/page__hl__+lego#entry4047575
I'm looking for generic bulk blocks, such as the one shown in this ebay posting: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Compatible-825-PCS-BULK-BUILDING-ALL-COLOURS-U-PICK-3-LBS-CANADIAN-Made-/290719461441?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item43b03af041
Specifically I'm looking for buying 10kg or so of "traditional non-themed" blocks, so yes, I want a lot and buying the official lego sets would be prohibitively expensive. I'd like to spend 3000 THB or so, as in the USA that would be enough to get 10kg off of ebay, but I realize it may be difficult to find normal blocks here in Thailand at all, let alone at the price I"d expect in the USA.
Any help on this would be appreciated. I searched all the stores on tarad.com and weloveshopping.com, and even amazon china, but can not find anything close.
Thank you for the help

i don't know if i'm just unlucky, but i have soo many drives fail that i purchase here in thailand. minorly off topic, but do they sell lower quality hardware here than what's exported? just seems strange, drives are manufactured here, but still cost more than it does in the usa (even before the flooding, about 20% more), plus, it seems to be less reliable (about 30% of my drives fail due to bad sectors or failing SMART)

saw a question about watching thai tv in the uk. anyone know an efficient (cheap or free) way to watch tv from the usa? maybe any websites, etc. like i heard you can get netflix subscriptions if you use a proxy.. i suppose i could hunt around more, but i'd expect others to have a similar problem? (or at least, i hope!)

i would guess it was a legitimate question by a veiled cybersquatter, and once he started getting negative opinions he turned troll
