  1. Old thread, but seeing as Fujitsu manufactures in Thailand and exports worldwide, I maintain the poster's question is valid. Daikin and Mistubishi both sell in Thailand but Fujitsu's record appears to be better than those companies. Inverter AC units seem to be the only variety one can get these days and the big issue appears to be the ability of the inverter board to withstand the constant punishment of brownouts and corrosion caused by condensation. Fujitsu appears to be a manufacturer with good product that has not been marketed well. Customer service and maintenance appear to be considerably better than Daikin and Mitsu based upon the reports I have been reading. TRANE has a dismal record throughout the world. I would avoid TRANE no matter what.

  2. Might sound crazy - but, could another military coup be happening????

If it was they would not black out the people who who cheer for it. They'd black out Issan.

Ahhhhh, tourism - foreigners panicing - heading for the airport - ringing their embassy etc etc etc etc.

That said, we haven't got a post from anyone in Issan yet.

Post from Issan... I could power the changwat on the noise the frogs are making right now...

  3. Drugs clearly destroy the ability for rational thought as evidenced by the company the Sweede keeps. Go to Thailand and hit the ice filled pookie..then wake up in the morning next to Tom....pretty sad existence. I could not imagine kissing, Tom's burnt, chapped lips.whistling.gifcrazy.gif

  4. YMMV. CAT service drops out once in a while. Overall I get more for my money here than in the US. I used to get annoyed by connectivity issues and concluded the last thing I want to be known for is being found "dead from a heart attack" at my computer. The internet has only improved my life by providing me with info about what I can do in the 3D world. My life hasn't really improved by arguing with others about the fine points of the color of a teeshirt in Thailand.

  5. Seen this movie too... the one where the actors look so surprised.

Jail, loss of money, lies..infidelity, lies, acquittal, lies, lawyers.. Did I mention lies?

Ah yes, the game of being like the actress in their favorite Soap, "As the Durian Turns".

His first mistake was in starting a company here.

He did not consider monitoring the passbook, because he trusted her so much.

Spouse wife was killed in an accident, eh?

Excuse me as I live vicariously through Mr. Harpel, smirking at the thought of "my" ex, eating instant karma noodle soup.goof.gif

He should arrange to have her family haunted by Gra Suu and his X wife...

The power of suggestion goes pretty far here.

  6. No winners on this one.

Lao blow out, guy goes ballistic and commits a stupid act.

    Families all suffer, forever.

On any other day, Aldy and the Marine would have probably been friends.

  7. Always nice to see people killing one species so that they have enough of another to kill.

The last frogs are being eaten by storks!, "We must kill them and make sure we get the last frog"
The word "sustainable", needs be beaten into a few heads.beatdeadhorse.gif

    Storks taste like frog, BTW

  8. its so easy to sit back and condemn people you dont know , John Cohen was a customer of mine and in my opinion could only be described as a nice , polite guy, always laid back and had time for everyone .... now before u get excited and crucify the guy because he has Tatts and looks a little rough ... i urge anyone who has a bad word about him to speak up !!... what happened was a set of events that should never have happened , he admits that things got out of control , he is extremely remorseful ... he is not Australian scum , far from it in fact ... it shows you how quickly your life can change when the wrong decision is made in the heat of the moment .... let him pay for his poor judgement and then get on with his life ....

The world needs more guys like you.

  9. This is a topic near and dear to my heart. A person spends good money to purchase a firearm and then uses it in an unwise manner. He then pays the equivalent of 20 sin sots to post bail. Depending on where you live, a gunshot would will most likely require a minimum of 200 K Baht to treat . Now add in the civil suit and the plaintiff's lawyer fees.. you are looking at about 10M Baht minimum. If you are considering shooting someone, please call me. For 1M baht I will hire this kid who can roundhouse a German off of bar stool before you can say Gershwin. I'll get your money back and you'll be 9 Million Baht ahead.

  10. Sex, drugs, Rock and roll, and then throw in a bit of Pattaya, dillusion, corruption, dilusion, money, coke, hot smoke, and lifes a joke, a rolled up dollar bill, a bit of white powder, a long edged knife, a life lived on the edge, an ego bigger than Ben Hurr, a can buy you at any price, but I'm not easily bought, and you have it all......Just another Pattaya murder, and a murder that could have taken place in any country at any time, it was all up to the main actors in this soap as to where it took place......Normal classic shit, Pattaya, New York, Paris, London, Sydney etc etc etc. Rest in peace is for mothers, lovers and friends who lived a normal life that harmed not a soul, and "Got what you had coming" is for any others that decide to play the game to the max, and use any and all around you for your gain and pleasures......Work it out....sad.png

Rap song in the making "Corruption, delusion, money, coke, hot smoke, the monkey on your back has you hangin' from a rope..living your life by da butterfly knife, coroner couldn't get a word to your wife..10,000 baht bill in your ice filled nose, all them can say it was a lead filled hose...Yo playa..{Sampled drum beat here><dit da dit dit da dit> "Yo playa...<dit da dit dit da dit> <pause>.You played yourself..."

  11. I wish they would spend less time watching the web and develop the RFID chip accompanied by the personal scanner.
Linked to all social media, medical and law enforcement records with access for all. It would get me through the airport

quicker and eliminate any guesswork as to the ethics of the people I do business with. The ability to scan a

person and know how many men have sent them money in the past 12 months, would be a very valuable tool.

  12. I, too are sickened by the treatment this dog has received. it is cruelty in it's worst form.

I do not really know how to inquire about my next problem. My wife and I live in a nice little area, only 8 newish houses. Only 5 regularly occupied, the rest are investor properties. We are troubled by barking dogs. one of the 8 houses opposite our's has 5 dogs. Every time a person or another dog passes their property ,which has a large gate ,the dogs rush to the gate and all bark simultaneously. They cause the other two dogs to join in. The last few nights there is a band of soi dogs, maybe six or eight come around just after we have gone to bed. I am not sure if one of the 5 dogs is on use but all the soi dogs go barking madly and the others join in and then a fight is started between the soi dogs. Meanwhile one of the 5 dogs gets exited and beats up one of the other five digs. To cap this one of the houses opposite us ,the Thai lady has got a new boyfriend and he has brought along his three fighting cocks who wake me up at or before dawn. He keeps them in three type of baskets which upside down which are situated between their wall and the road, 25 metres from our house. We have approached the lady who has the 5 dogs with no avail. How do we combat this situation without moving house. I am not a cruel person towards animals but my patience is wearing thin as it has been going on three years now.

All suggestions will be will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

For canines: I like to use high frequency sound.. download freeware.. hook up the speakers and find the frequency it annoys dogs at.

Don't shatter your wife's wine goblets.

Chickens?... One cannot control a chicken.

I am pretty sure some rice soaked in sa toh might make them not care enough to crow..

Birds don't tolerate alcohol well due to their Mormon upbringing.. No more than equivalent of 1/4 tsp vodka.

Double espresso for the bird on fight day and he'll be a lean, mean, peckin' machine.

  13. I will not get into the car until mia checks to see if the driver will go there. "Tell him expressway mai mee bpunhaa". I usually get turned down by two drivers per trip, and typically it's an older driver with a proper homage to the King adorning the cab. They usually have Creedence Clearwater on the CD player.. I bop my head in approval and sing along..and try to explain the meanings of songs to my wife. I then ask the cabbie if he has any Mor Lam..Skeptical eyes appear in the rear view mirror and a mystery CD appears from the secret box. When my wife and I get to where ever we are going...I give a substantial tip and have my wife tell the driver that I appreciated him allowing us to ride in his vehicle. There are a few good men in Thailand, but they are often tarnished by the usual ilk we deal with just to try to plow through the rot mun dtit.

  14. Aggressive pursuit of terrorists would result in a perceived loss of Jai Dee. I experienced a potentially frightening situation at the airport a few months back. I admonished the officer for touching a touching a bag left unattended. He saw my point and queried people in the line. and found the owner, an old man who was too tired to drag it to the front of the line. The officer handled the situation correctly by not over reacting. The same situation in the US would have shut the entire airport down. Experts say security too laid back...I have seen "ramped up security" and ask the question, "Would I really want LOS to be more like the US?"

Thailand @ Defcon A, would not be too much fun.

  15. People at the old airport would have been more than happy to rent space and tarmac access had the NASA people gone to them. In the long run, it would have been substantially less than firing up U-tapao.. Admiral was sent here to try to show a friendly face for the effort and Hilliary was here in December? Atmospheric studies...So green everyone should want one.. Been there.. done that, wrote the script and got the TeeShirt.
