  1. Don't send any let all the other bf's do it instead!!

Funny coming from the guy who changed his user name because people were calling out your ready made family relationship.

If you don't like it done to you, why come back under a new guise and play the same game that forced you out?

What the <deleted>!! wow mate you have a serious problem!! just for your information as you seem to have a problem, my user name was changed because of a bad issue with hacking my account. god some people are just down right nasty!!!

Your comment about let the other boyfriends send money instead wasn't nasty?

You didn't like it when others attacked your relationship with a girl who brought kids from another relationship. What makes you think its OK to do it when I clearly remember the offense taken by you when members saying similar things towards your gf.

Ease up Kenny, you don't play nasty very well.

  3. The tire shop opposite tesco Rawai is a dual pricing place I'm afraid.

I won't be using them again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

Just wondering how you know they duel price as I have just used them and found them to be the cheapest of 4 tyre shops I tried.

I was looking for the other tyre shop also but alas no-one seems to know if it reopened

Wife had a flat tire and she went into that shop and they discovered a nail or screw in the tire, had it removed and plugged and charged her 150 baht.

About 4 months later I discovered a screw in my tire when I heard it tapping against the road so I drove it into the same shop remembering they fixed her car.

The difference was that they charged 300 baht.

No point telling him that my wife had been charged 150 baht a few months before because I should have asked the price at the beginning and he wouldn't have gave a shit anyway.

I was OK with 300 baht but it still leaves that feeling of not being equal.

I have many more instances of duel pricing if you like.

  4. That stretch has become a bad bottleneck now that there is 3 sets of light within 100 metres.

Really bad idea and now I can understand why the powerful local was fighting its construction.

Its the intersection before the terminal, near manit centre,Max that's backing it up, the lights don't run in tandem.

  5. The bucket of iced water is not dangerous at all. This is songkran. Thais know it. They are suposed to slow down. If they dont they risk dying but they DO NOT care. They also risk dying when they talk on the mobilephone every other day while cutting traffic. They simply do not care. Slowdown, no danger. Dont want to get wet to work? Kind of dumb but if you SLOW down and tell people again, they'll put a little powder and very little water, they will only shoot a bucket if you dont slowdown.

So to all whiny farangs. Slow the F down and enjoy. If one of you has a wife and a luk-krung son in phuket town near chevy dealer, just want to let you know i saw your wife zig-zag while accelerating to 70 in a small street TWICE with the 4-6year old boy in the back barely hanging on with 1 tiny hand and almost falling to his death to avoid a LITTLE bit of water. She avoided a car by about 2cm on her way back.

Not much of a difference between this and the rainy season, yet people find a way to complain.. Songkran is basically the only day of the year where the average thai acts the way they are described in books.

Everything written above is complete nonsense.

We understand it's sonkran but slowing down does not deter them from dumping water and powder all over you, are you even riding or driving around today? From what you describe its the complete opposite.

As for the lady speeding with a halfling, how can you see occupants in a speeding car that you had to avoid a collision with? My eyes would be on the road, not trying to determine the race of the occupants. Weird that you can provide so much detail, boys age and his Thai mother but didn't even mention the make or color of the car. Leads me to believe its crap.

Hundreds die and thousands injured in this holiday period and if I can avoid becoming apart of this large statistic, I will but all the power to those who enjoy this mindless celebration.

  6. Had a tenderloin at Buffalo in Kata just before Christmas. Easily the best steak I've ever eaten.

Perhaps Buffalo has upped its game. Their steaks used to be poor and overpriced, hence the reason I haven't eaten there in a very long time.

I think they have upped their game. The first 2 times I ate there, it was not good. A friend of mine was in town, wanted to eat there, and persuaded me to go. I must say, the food was excellent. Not the best steak I have ever had (that would be Bob’s Steak and Chop House in Dallas, TX), but very good. I have been back several times since.

They rock out the best roasted potatoes mixed with fried onions and bacon.

    Best side ever.

  7. Just pop over to the Samui Forum if ya want some positive intelligent conversation or a few laughs GOM. We are happy to accomodate like minded individuals! biggrin.png

Yet you popped in here and dumbed yourself down for us. Truly greatful*

    *denotes sarcasm.

  8. Does anybody knows where one could find old wooden cartwheels for sale in Phuket? even replica would be fine (i mean not real antique piece but recently made)

    Thanks a lot.

You plan on driving on these or as an ornamental piece for the garden?

I seen them at a nursery near wat chalong but that was a while ago. Looked rustic and weather beaten.

  9. If you define someone as unsavory for being rude or sacastic, you better not attend any Comedy nights Kenny.

I think unsavory wasn't the word you were looking for but whatever. You get a pass.

Why would I not attend a comedy night? being rude or sarcastic to someones face would be commendable maybe foolish or is it brave, but I am able to deal with anything said to my face!!

The rude and sarcastic people on this forum would not say the same thing to you personally

Who are these rude and sarcastic people Kenny and yourself are referring to?

I've hardly been sarcastic and if linking a lmgfy link is rude, guilty as charged.

Again, you need some thicker skin if you are to participate online.

Just the fact you say youre able to deal with anything said to your face shows your maturity levels can't cope with forum banter.

I haven't seen one post today that has offended you so why you so worked up?

  11. 2. telling someone to go use Google, is bad netiquette, out right rude

The proper solution is for a search engine knowledgeable member to put a link to Google with the search terms in it already. Not everyone is proficient in correctly identifying the best search terms to find what they want.

And that is what I did.

    Thank you.

  12. Unfortunately what you would like will never happen, most posters are decent people and provide straight forward honest answers, again unfortunately a minority of posters are not decent people and would rather post sarcasm or be rude putting down a certain individual or a certain group of ex pats, it's up to the decent people on here to just ignore the not so decent people, forums will never change they will always attract the unsavory types!!

Maybe if some grew thicker skin it would help the forum greatly.

I have a very thick skin but I hate with vengeance people who hide behind there computers and do not contribute anything other than sarcasm and rudeness!!

Who is hiding behind a computer being sarcastic and rude?

I haven't seen one post today. Please inform me of the member so I to may avoid them.

  13. Greetings fellow Phuket Forum Members,

I don't know if I am allowed to do this, but here I go anyway.

State of the Forum in this posters view is bleak. I think we should make some basic rules, because in the few years I've been on here it has spiraled in what one poster said was "a bunch of old women". After having seen the answers to a couple easy topics today, I'm almost ready to agree.............Stupid arguments over much ado about nuthin.

A guy can't ask about specific Songkran Days, nor about a watersport without the group here jumping on a suitcase like a Samsonite Monkey.

So what do you say we clean it up.

    1. if you have something helpful, insightful or a direct answer, post. Otherwise don't.

    2. telling someone to go use Google, is bad netiquette, out right rude

    3. if you want to contribute (#1), maybe you could take a shot at #2, then post saying what you found

4.if you are just out for an argument, go kick the dog instead (although I hope it bites you or pees in the house in response)

5.try and be positive at least 95% of the time

Now get out from behind your box and go throw some water. GOM

I like the thread but I think you're missing my point.

In my home country, I was a avid bird watcher. Yes its down right boring for most people.

Once I moved to Phuket, I wanted to seek out other bird watchers and information on what birds to look out for and species.

I had a choice, Do I make a thread in the Phuket forum on Thaivisa or do I research the internet via Google for my specific and not common hobby in a area I'm new to?

If I had chose the first option, I would have zero replies and it would die off within 48 hours when a simple Google search gave me what I was looking for in seconds. Google bird watching phuket yourselves and you'll see what I mean.

The reason for the staleness of the forum is just this. You have the power of the internet in front of you yet you feel a local forum might know best and if even 50% of people bothered to use the search function we would have less of the crap but that's a whole new topic for me to debate. How many 'real estate agent' threads to we need?. Jesus..

I will take your advice and refrain from telling people to use Google because I feel stupid for needing to tell people. Research the internet, phuket forum doesn't know everything that is phuket.

Google, Wikipedia etc are wonderful things, not everyone likes to use them, if a poster asks a question is it right to be rude or sarcastic? is it not better to provide a sensible straight forward answer, I am going back to a prime example of downright rudeness, a thread a while ago asked where to get the cheapest beer, the response from certain people was disgusting and rude, even going to the length of putting down retirees who live on Phuket, to me this is the unsavory types that are ruining these forums!!!

    Define unsavory types?

  16. They are out in force today.

Seen a disgruntled worker punching a reveller this morning after he pleaded not to be wet on his way to work.

I love today, watching the locals nearly dismount every motorbike passing by is comedy gold.

Considering this water festival has been adapted to entertain the tourists it is not unreasonable to expect to be able to go to work and not turn up wet and covered in powder, are you the sort of person who would laugh at a family being forced to crash because of idiots throwing buckets of iced water into bikers faces!!!

    That was my point.

I would like to get to work also without being saturated and I understand his fury.

Its amazing you always seem to jump on the defensive, I don't want to see people hurt but I do enjoy these freedoms that would lead to being sued back in my home country.

Ease up and enjoy the day.
