  1. Hi guys, like to go to Korat for a couple of days. Any suggestions where to stay ? About 700 Bt. There are two bus stations I've heard, an old one and a new one. Which one is closer to the city center ?

  2. I am learning Thai since about 9 month. I can read, write and understand about 60-70% what's spoken but my speaking is no good at all. Does anyone know a school/teacher specialized in free conversation training ? I am not interested in learning sentence patterns as you do in conventional language schools. I know, the best way to learn is hanging with Thais as much as possible. But I don't have this opportunity. So, if there are TV members being fluent I really would like to know how you did manage 555

  3. amazing how negative all your responses are and how you instantly blame me to be 'yet another stupid freshman'. A lot of frustrated guys out there. To put it right: I am not married, I don't have a business nor do I have plans to do business (based on marrige) nor did I lose any money. I am doing pretty well so far...I just wonder

  4. There are most likely many men with plenty of cash willing to invest in a business to make a living in Thailand. So, actually it would be a win win situation for both. Women have financial security and men can live in Thailand. Just in most cases it doesn't work. Or does it ? What are your opinions/experiences ?

  5. I suppose one small reason might be to speak the language of the country I live in or to speak with people other than those who make a living off of foreigners.

It is a different country when you speak the language.

Totally agree. Studying 300+ hours so far. I study at AUA and ProLanguage (for ED visa)

  6. Just an update on this for anyone else who may be interested...

I checked out two GNCs today to see if they carried (as they generally carry in the US) to only find out that the GNCs here seem to carry mostly GNC-branded products. What was even more interesting was the price of the GNC-branded protein (which is considered to be cheap protein in the US, compared to some of the other premium brands). One container protein (3lb) was about $120 USD--just outrageous. And the GNC protein doesn't even taste good...

Anyway, I went to bodybuilding.com, and they ship to Thailand at a very reasonable rate. I can get three containers (3lb each) for $127 USD plus $43 USD shipping. Not a bad deal I think...

What I don't know is if I'll be hit with a customs charge when it's imported. Anyone had any experience with this?

    Thanks

    Jacob

There are shops in Bangkok that sell protein and supplements at a price usually 40% of the GNC prices...

    Where ?

  7. I am looking for an affordable gym without the need of signing an expensive 1y contract. I only need dumpbells and barbell, pullup bar, etc. I only workout twice a week, so kinda "1 day entry" would be fine but a monthly payment is fine as well.
