30 deaths from the heat wave.

I bet they are mostly from the poor background; not having

    air-conditioning at home/work place.

It is always the less fortunate that is worst  impacted by  the environmental changes.

    Very sad.

What's funny is my horse hasn't broken a sweat but he demands to be showered every hour.

I moved into a Condo in Jomtien (VT5). Internet I guess its TOT. Yesterday afternoon I could easely stream TV from Switzerland. In the evening it got nearly impossible tu even open a website. Asean now too slowed down to a crawl. Pictures came uo line by line like in the good old dial up time. Since then it stayed that way. Speed to Bangkok is fine, but to Switzerland its a joke. Restarting the modem did not help btw. Similiar happend in 2006 when some underwater cable broke.

Is it TIT, TOT, Comrade Putin or the Mullahs cutting the cable?

It's that area and your condo building.  Nothing to do about the country

Yes, but likely Single Entry only, relatively recent reports say that the multiple entry Non-O ME was again no longer available, box disappeared from the e-visa site again.

(Could always e-mail the RTE London in case the sands have shifted again, 100/1 against maybe)

Last reference for Financials that I can confirm was May 2023

    £1000 single entry

    (£10000 Multi-entry)

Show accom booking for first couple of days.

e-mail from wife confirming aware / invite visit, as Jpeg/PDF.

Copy scan / pic of wife's ID or Passport.

    Scan of Marraige cert.

All applications online British Citizen/ resident.

Not been in the site for that visa type recently, but the tourist visa application has change so perhaps also the non-O.

    Supporting docs format:-

    Jpeg image files

PDF files (so could be multi page)

File size less than 3MB (2.8MB to be sure)

Photo of yourself can use a phone and try and get it close to passport spec (does not like textured backgrounds, I use a off-white cotton sheet over a door)

Payment for Visa via Kasikorn by card ( sometimes hiccups like its not worked but normally is OK after going back to the initial application listing after waiting for it to process)

    £1000

Can somebody please advise me which steps to take?

    In short:

-) I am currently in Thailand on a Non-O, which is expiring on April 24th. Holding an EU-passport.

-) I will start working for a Thai company soonest.

-) When applying for the work-permit, the officer at Department of Employment didn't/couldn't issue a WP3-letter.

Reason given was that my Non-O mentions 'visit Thai wife'. And, according to the officer that should have been more like 'support Thai wife' (?!)

-) I have THB400k in the bank since February 27th - just a little shy of 2 months when my visa expires.

The officer at the Department of Employment suggested to enter Thailand on a Non-B-visa.

It's not as big issue for me to travel abroad and apply there for a Non-B. But when checking at the various Embassies/Consulates, the required documents for Non-B/employment include this WP3- (or WP32-) letter.

    It's becoming a chicken & egg-story.

What would you do in such a situation?

Leave Thailand on Apr23/24th and enter Thailand a few days later on a visa-exempt and start the WP-application-procedure with that?

Leave Thailand on Apr23/24th, apply for a Non-B/to conduct business and enter Thailand on that one?

Extend my Non-O in Bangkok and try to change the wording into 'support Thai wife'?

    Or....?

Your ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

If you're non O is based on marriage is expiring then they change it to a non-B at immigration within the country no need to leave the country.

  5. You don't need to change a Visa if you have a non-O based on marriage you can go straight and apply for a work permit no need to change visa no need to go to immigration. Extend your non-O or get the relative documents and change it to a Non B at immigration when you go to get your extension. Your allowed to get a work permit on a Non O based on marriage.  Some employment offices just see a Nom O a flat out give you a work permit even on a Non O Marriage.  (Chonburi & Knon Kaen)  offices. Though this should not of been the case.
