  1. Who in their right mind would take children to Pattaya, I mean for crying out LOUD.

    Completely clueless!

There is probably more to see, do, eat, etc. for children in the Pattaya area than the rest of Thailand combined, also an abundance of quality medical facilities should the need arise, shops for everything a child could need, parents on holiday with kids couldn't have it any better!

But i guess if your knowledge of Pattaya is limited to a few small areas that suit your own personal tastes - then you would not know this!

Never been to Pattaya and never intend to! From what i've heard and read about the place anyone that takes children there is irresponsible and a sorry excuse for a parent. For crying out loud!

    please accept my apology.

  2. 'Here is the link. ' ???? Where be it ??

I know, I can google it.

PM...I only have about 10, so 80b not such an issue I guess.

In Pattaya; I happen to know the professionals go to the fairly large Kodak-Shop on Second Rd., just before the traffic-lights to Central Road and virtually across the street from Soi 8. They do all the pro's photo-works. Their prices are reasonable too.

    Thanks....shall have a look.

Not sure where traffic lights central road is though....only really know if you go down beach rd....turn left at the end where walking st is and then left again into second rd....is that right ??....then the first set of lights is a long way up and there is a shopping centre on opposite left corner isn't there ??

  3. In Australia we have Jet Pets and Dogtainers, two companies that send animals all around the world. They pick up from your house , deliver to airport and do all required paper work. I am sure you would have companies in the UK that would do same. Try googling something.

Cheers....I want to get a dog from Oz.....so this might be useful.

  4. Yes, I don't think any airline in the world will allow a full grown German Shepherd in the cabin unless it is a sniffer dog on duty.

The dog will be fine (normally) on the flight. Check with the airline to confirm that the pet can fly with you. I assume you know all the details about applying for an import permit etc?

When you land you go and retrieve the dog. Sometimes you have to pay import tax depending on the breed.

    Just never know smile.png

they may not allow it to run free but to keep the cage somewhere in the main cabin is a possibility

Just had 2 friends fly with Turkish Air and not only they allowed them to take a cat with them, but also allowed them to have the cat out of the cage, just sleeping on the lap.

Does not hurt to ask, may be just buy an extra sit to place the cage or 2 sits and they may allow it, especially if the flight is not full

I wonder if it would get an inflight meal....and a set of headphones.

  5. Whatever you do....do not ship the dog separately to the flight you are on...ie: you must be on the same flight as the dog.

We shipped a dog over separate when we moved here....this was out of circumstance rather than choice from memory...and we had a lot of trouble with customs at the airport....basically mafia scamming scumbags and that is being nice.

This does not happen if shipped with you as it comes off as baggage I believe and not cargo...

  6. What is wrong with it?

Ask Kerry.....not supposed to call people by their colour....its racially sensitive to people with complexes.

If I am white I am white. If I am black I am black. If I have a long nose I have a long nose.

These things are facts that can be seen and proofed.

(well at least before we had whitening creams)

Yes...you are right...and I might add 'obvious'.....but some people think mentioning what colour a person is....considering it is fact.....is racist.

I find this quite hard to believe......

  7. I have met some pratts and a few trolls but mate you take the cake. YOU WIN DUCKWIT! So tell us all what you think we should be doing! You have my undivided attention......

I think we should be admiring other peoples beautiful farms.

THATS IT? That is your definition of natural? That is how to work integrating farming operations to eliminate chemical degradation? That is how you rebuild degraded soils and the biology that makes them that way? No, No, you have to do better than that!

If you ignore him, you will deprive him of an audience & satisfaction, he will go look for other threads in self perceived need of smart *ss comments.

    Will not.

  8. I understand the point you guys are trying to make, but you must understand that not everyone has equal difficulty identifying people of a certain race. It's ridiculous to think that people cannot usually or often be identified as Black, White, Asian - Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Cambodian, etc. I have been VERY good at being able to identify and distinguish between the various races (easy) and countries (harder, but not impossible).

There are all kinds of cues visual, auditory and otherwise that give people away.

i think you may have a very hard time with me.giggle.gif

I look of one race, though i am not

i speak of another, of which i also am not

i behave of a 3rd and yet again i am not.

I do not even know myself what i am anymore, The only place i feel comfortable is Asia, because i am just a foreigner to most people.

In my country of birth, i did not fit in, in my country of residence i did not fit it, in my country of religion i was not accepted, so it seemed i could be an alien.

Upon my arrival to Thailand, i felt comfortable, because i was indeed identified as an alien and officially i still am biggrin.png

Maybe you can help out in that alien thread then.

  9. After talking to some Thai friends it's becoming clear that society is changing and the younger generation are becoming less respectful of their elders. Kind of taking the same path as the UK really... Which is a shame.

I agree that this is somewhat of a residual from westernization, encroaching on Thai society. I'm sure the UK is very much like the USA, where the concept of "respecting your elders" disappeared a long, long time ago. But I don't believe Thailand is near as bad as the west in this regard, although as you say, it may seem like Thai society is inching in that direction.

This is where many farangs baffle me when they talk of how Thai society should change, to be more like the west. Traditional Thais respect their elders and are very much family-oriented. I really dig this about the Thais. In the US, most teenagers would prefer to hang out with their friends rather than their family. I do hope Thai society doesn't try to mimic the west in this regard. It would be a real shame.

So you are saying that we as western people...have done a missionary position on the natives ??

Yes but Kerry is talking about visual only....you would be cheating if you enlisted the help of audio.

  11. Surely someone must be crap at golf and want to sell ??.....frustrated ??

Even if you are in Bangkok, let me know as might be able to get there in week or 2.

Check out the golf shops on Third Road. Some of them have used clubs for sale.

thanks.......how far up ??....easy to spot ??

As you go from Central Road to North Pattaya Road, there are three of them on the left and one on the right. Drive slowly and you will find them without much problem.

    Thanks

  12. Yes...good on Jothram for creating something he is happy and content with and can make a quid from eventually......also good on him for getting back on topic after IA's derailment.

So why did YOU start all the negativity? I reacted to your petty, childish comments. Now I am the cause, Duck off

If you read it again...YOU started the negative jibe about me saying stuff I did not even mention....go look..go on.

Good to see you agree at least.
