As said before... His Power in this case has probably not so much to do with his position on KT.
There are single hotels on Koh Samui that are worth more than his entire KT land holdings. He may run Koh Tao like a private fiefdom but I've seen no indication, especially with the first week's trial proceedings, that he has any real power once off the island, well known as you say are his connections.The headman connections are already well known and easy to verify! His power is therefore not limited to "his" island.
Would be so nice if the press would publish something about that! They are not forced to stick to suspects and it would make a great story...

We have the own car . That's impossible to leave with speed boat
This problem exists for everyone who wants to use Raja with a vehicle. You have to come early and put your car in the line to get on the ferry. 8AM for 10AM ferry was likely too late after chinese new year. This is a Raja Issue and not a Koh Phangan issue, the same situation on Samui and in Don Sak.

Songserm and Seatran both have car ferry.... all close by.... I would try and choose Seatran over Songserm.
Advanced booking would have probably been better, especially as someone pointed out above, it's Chinese New year period ...

You cane buy ferry tickets with Raja ferry online, which many with vehicles do to ensure a space.

There is NO report of burglary.
When someone is detained against their will for 2 hours it becomes and arrest.
He was detained because they supposedly found drug taking pipe in his bedroom, which never made the evidence, coincidentally there is no report of such pipe or him being detained or questioned.
It has become a "misunderstanding"

Police doesn't need a search warrant in Thailand at the moment anyway (because of the martial law) afaik.
