  1. I would say you are no way near to 60 if you still got kids to pay for so by the time you get to there that is if you live to 60 the health cover will be alot more than it is now for you. Also since when did I say I drive a crap car?

Also you say you do not live in Thailand so your comment does not really make much of a difference seeing we are discussing in this thread the costs of LIVING IN THAILAND

I live nice life myself in my country ,and soon after divorce paying alimony for 2 kids and having several properties in my name. i am still living cheaper in my home country ,and i drive a nice car myself not an isuzu crap max .

And health insurance is also alot cheaper here full coverage and no crap about being over 65 and having pre excisting conditions.
  2. That is just for me with NZI ( Thailand division) I am 66 and it is just for major medical not the add ons such as teeth or glassers you guys have to realize that when you get older you pay more if you want the best if you want less cover so be it but I have worked in the insurance business for 28 + years so I know what I need. My wife's cover cost approx 27,000 per year that because she younger than me she is with AXA Thailand for her health cover. why is that because I worked for AXA b4

12,000 bt health cover for you alone or with your wife ?????

I spend 79,800 per month and I am retired with a ThaI wife of 1O years no children but 4 cats and 2 dogs. I live in Chonburi.

In that amount is rent 16,000 health cover of 12,000 per month Cat internet 7000 I like a contrant internet feed and tot is crap and other suppliers not near me

I pay from one male worker he has been with me 2 years he does every thing cooks cleans odd jobs gardening cleans the Merc he works around give and take 6 days a week for 9000 per month.

The rest is made up of power 4000 cable tv 2000 and the balance is medication and food and car insurance Also I do not smoke and drink little.

So let us make it a round 80,000 per month my income stream from overseas is 120,000 if I got stuck I could with draw some of the cash which is invested there so I am 40,000 still on the right side of the ledger per month.

So yes I enjoy the good life for my age and see no reason to change it

  4. you should come to new zealand. the only thing cheap here is your average workers' labour. often seen cabages, cauliflowers as high as $5 tiny heads of broccoli can be over $3. 600g box of cereal $5.50 upwards. Decent bread $4 or more. Petrol now $2.27 litre. My modest 3 small bedroom house $350k which is $20k less than the ave price in my city. Oh sorry I forgot, booze is always cheap or on special, so we can all get pissed and not think too much about how much everything else costs. And our milk, meat and cheese is usually cheaper in other countries than our own

That is why I left living there 10 years ago and when I go back I say Sh--t look at the pricers. Love Thailand and yes alot of kiwi food here is cheaper than in NZ

  5. Well the above speaks for it self.

Do you think that this could be the year that Leeds United finally break out and get back into the big boys division. We have waited so long but at last Bates is 99% gone along with his cronies from Leeds.

I have put a tenner on them to do just that.

What do you guys think for thoes that still care.

  6. 800,000 bhat devided by 12months per year = 66,666 retirement and I say that would be spot on for a happy carefree life. I am sure one could live for less, or spend much more, but I think the Thailand Gov has got there retirement figs just right, so some on in there must be smart for once.

  8. .

Personally and if you can, I would go with CAT. I have tried all the others and found them less efficient. The connection all the way to your router (if you are allowed to install your own) is fibre optic, where as all the others are fibre optic running along the main roads and then copper wire to your router. The problem is that the copper wire will in time deteriorate and fail to pass the signal as efficiently. The other factor which has not been mentioned is the fluctuating electrical supply, which is passing the internet from the Internet Service Provider from nodul to nodul. I have plugged my router in to a USP (Uninterupted Power Supply, which is a battery like arrangement with sockets and sustains the signal when you have transitional breaks in the signal, which will basically keep the router running for up to about 15 minutes when this happens. You can buy these at most IT shops. I have had nothing but outstastanding service from CAT and they will not accept any tips or payment in kind for work done, which is quite refreshing bearing in mind "Thainess", which is not meant as a criticism, but tipping is part of the culture. I have the same Cat it is great and hardly any drop offs at all but it is 7k bhat a month
