  1. My friend has a large club, he has female waitresses,

not one is on the game, but they serve patrons drinks.

I have a couple of friends that work as Cashiers in beer bars.

Neither go with customers and at the end of the day (6pm or 2am depending hich shift they do) they go home to their boyfriend and kids. One has Thai boyfriend the other has German.

  2. I am coming to Bangkok with my Thai Girlfriend in April.

So far I have only planned 1 day (Bang Na to sort out her passport) and 2 evenings entertainment (Isaan Tawan Daeng one night and Soi Cowboy another).

Will be there Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues nights any day better than any other for Tawan Daeng or Cowboy?)

Any great suggestions on places to go for the other couple of evenings entertainment and what to do on the other daytimes ?

    Thanks,

  3. I purchased a from Tukcom (3rd floor towards the front of the building). This Has English and Thai and they would put on any language I wanted, they updated the maps while I waited. Think it was 3400baht and came with a 1 year warranty.

  4. My friend is planning to marry his girlfriend in Isaan later this year. There is a 10 year age gap, she has a couple of kids from a previous marrriage. He raised the Sin sot question and she said 'no sin sot for you'. Apparently as she has already been married no sin sot is payable. If he wants to make a donation to the family that is OK but not required.

  5. I went to an absolutely awesome wedding on Koh Samui in September.

The couple used a company ( http://www.weddingsinthailand.com/faraway-wedding-villa-koh-samui.php) and the wedding planner arranged everything. The groom arrived on an Elephant, they had dancing girls, local singers, a band, disco just about everything you could ever want.

The location is right on the beach and is probably the best wedding I have been to.

  6. In April I walked into Kasikorn bank at Central Festival in Pattaya. 30 minutes later I walked out with my new account passbook, Visa debit / ATM card (with my photo on it), online banking access and details so that I can make international transfers.

They wanted to see my passport (60 day tourist visa in it) and a business card with my hotel details on it and a thai mobile phone number. If you make online transactions they send a code to your Thai phone to complete.

Very easy, very happy and they wanted me as a customer.

  7. I tried to add this to a post but it just hung so starting a new thread.

I am a bit confused by the re-entry requirements for retirement visa. How long does the multiple re-entry permit last ?

I was wondering if it is worth getting a retirement visa this year along with a multiple re-entry permit.

I currently come to Thailand 6 or so times a year sometimes for 5 weeks at a time. While in Thailand I also visit friends in Vietnam and Manila, flying from Bangkok.

Would the retirement visa and re-entry permit be the one to go for or just keep getting the 60 day tourist visas ?

    Thanks

  8. Bit confused about the re-entry permits.

If you get a multiple re-entry does that last for as many trips as you want in one year ?

I am wondering if I should to apply for my retirement visa later this year as I make 6 or so long trips to Thailand and back to UK. I also visit friends in Vietnam and Manila flying from Bangkok.

Would I be better off getting 60 day tourist visas every time or a retirement visa with multiple re-entry ?

    Thanks

  9. I was recommended and have used a tailor in Pratamnak 4, opposite the Asia hotel.

They have made me some superb MTM shirts and special order shorts and I am very pleased with the quality and finish.

  10. I am travelling to Udon Thani in April for a trip to Nong Bua Lamphu.

I will be hiring a car and driving to Nong Bua Lamphu (about 100 kilos) along route 210.

My flight arrives at 7pm. Is route 210 fine to drive in the dark or would I be better getting a hotel that night and driving the following day ?

Never been to the area but I have a Sat nav so what could go wrong ??? rolleyes.gif

Also any 'must do' sights to see in the area ?

    Thanks

  11. Last year Oman air changed my flight times giving me a long layover in Muscat. This was apparently due to the change from winter to summer timetable.

They paid for a visa, arranged transport, put me up in a nice hotel with free food for 10 hours.

Very impressed with the airline all in all and their prices are very competative..
