Philippines has millions of English-speakers, just like India, that's why Western firms outsource some back office operations to BPO companies. Thailand does not have many fluent English speakers, that's why such service jobs don't end up here -- but Thailand has a much better manufacturing sector than the Philippines does. -

Does this movie clear that that it's MOSTLY CHINESE GANGS that are doing the kidnapping and scamming? As if the CCP govt. who is still working with the military dictatorship in Myanmar and has heavily backed the Hun Sen regime in Cambodia -- the Chinese govt. still cannot crack down on their criminals? They go after Chinese dissidents abroad and set up secret Chinese police stations in the West.... but next door neighbours don't get any crackdowns?! -

Thailand is not as cheap as it was a decade ago. Food prices, tour costs, and visa on arrival costs have risen quite a bit. Vietnam is cheaper than Thailand so it's a puzzle how Thailand is ranked higher than Vietnam.
