  1. I see on the news a 15min test on test & entry to USA & surely they can do departures, its still a risk as the virus might no show itself for days, most expats are in the vulnerable group regarding age especially, to we take into account the recovery rate ratio, which globally is higher then most illnesses, road deaths kills 1000's here, in relation to deaths, if it was to spread a massive infection, hold the flood gates closed, but is it as vulnerable as what governments say, its that who's telling the true, but zero covid Thailand's doing something correct

  2. Hi, yip went to immigration phuket, renewed recidency with chanote, letter & statements signed & stamped from bank, i was told that on extension of tourist visa application for O you had to have 15 days left on extension, its now 21 days, so i have 6 days to make O application without leaving thailand, tomorrow in there on opening, hopefully friday collect, then cant leave thailand for that 3 month O, but can within the last month change to retirement visa as long as 800,000 in the bank, german farang helper was very procise, very helpful & said get back tomorrow, & finished

  3. Yes.
Pop along to Immigration in Phuket and ask.

Thanks, i definatly will, i spoke to a german lady who helps, when i got my extension for tourist visa, couldnt quite understand, but something was mentioned about before 15 days runs out, i bet it was this, so im along there today, what a easy fix if it is this or if someone knew how to get it done via the old money system in my passport as a back hander, all the immigration officers i knew have gone, who'd say no problem, of coarse for that back hander
  4. You can apply for a Non Imm Visa in Phuket if you qualify for the 12 month extension.
    800,000 in the bank

You can then apply for the 12 month extension in Phuket.
800,000 in the bank for 2 months.

Hi lite beer, again confused, so my 60 day tourist + its 30 day extension, are you saying a further 12 month o visa extension i can get without leaving phuket because ive got my 800,000 in the thai bank, within 2 days ive heard so many different stories & procedures to follow, do or do i not have to leave phuket, why would i go to laos or penang if i can get a O visa extension right here in phuket, can someone please explain it in simple terms as though im a 5 year old kid

  5. At Savannakhet you need proof you are retired. That can be a income letter or you could do a statement at the embassy that your retirement.
After getting the non-o visa you can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon retirement at immigration during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa.
Are you living in Roi Et or Phuket?
There is a immigration office in Roi Et where you could apply for the visa if you have 15 days remaining on the 30 day extension of your tourist visa entry.

Hi ubonjoe, this is were im totally confused, im living in phuket, but going go roi et to visit friends, my impressions were ive got to leave thailand to get a single entry O visa to then re-enter thailand to turn into a retirement visa, so no need to keep leaving phuket, ive got 4 retirement visas in passport but been away from thailand because of road accident in uk, am i reading this correct if ive got 15 days left of my single tourist visa extension, which i have 28 days left, i can apply for a O visa in thailand, ive got 800,000 in the thai bank now for 60 days, got my residency slip in passport for a condo i own, ive even got a company which im the director for a house, now if going to Savannakhet for O visa if i have to, does 800,000 have to in the bank for 3 month, 2 month or just 1 day, if ive got over 800,000 in the thai bank, then i believe i dont need a uk embassy letter, im 56 so not officially uk retirement age, hope you can help on my confusing

  6. Once you have your visa you can apply for an extension of stay based on retirement. With that extension you don't have to leave the country anymore.

Hi, this is where im confused, can i get a single O from Laos, come back to phuket then get the extension for retirement, or have to get a multi entry O let that run for a year, then retirement extension, do you know at Savannakhet how long you have to show your 800,000 in the bank, i thought 2 month, but people say 3, when i cross to Savannakhet im 7 days short so would have to stay to get to 90 days + do i need a letter from uk embassy on income, i would have thought no as ive well over the 800,000 in bank, you can tell 3 years away

  7. You are on the visa forum now after it was moved to here.
Vientiane does require a medical and police clearance. They will accept both done here in the country.
It can take up to 30 days to get the police clearance certificate unless you use an agency (their suggested agency is http://www.a-plusservice.com/). You can only apply for it in Bangkok.
    See: http://www.pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eng/
Savannakhet Laos does not ask for the medical or police clearance. If using the 800k baht in the bank option they want proof of retirement which can be a income letter from your embassy proving any amount of income.
Penang has the same requirements as Savannakhet.
You can also apply for a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) at immigration. You must have at least 15 days remain on your current permit to stay. Requirements are here: https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_80

Hi, yip Savannakhet is closer to where i am in roi et, with having over million in the bank i presume i dont need a embassy letter as in i live in phuket for 17 years, my income is from thailand, again a bit confused from 3 years ago, i dont have to leave thailand every 3 month do i, just report to immigration, is a O visa the same as a retirement visa, the old me used to get a single entry O from uk, then turn that into retirement visa, so no need to leave, just report to immigration, only the once then just renew every year, but accident in uk & being away for nearly 3 years has changed, so id appreciate any further advice to have a visa that i dont need to leave phuket, just report in & easiest way to get it, sorry accident was slight brain damage, front lobe damage, so sometimes confusing kicks in easy, but youve been very helpful

  8. Ah, this is exactly what has been happening, i ask a exact question, whats the procedure for Laos, in CV, police & medical reports & 800,000 in bank for how long, same as generally asking, different stories & answers, so to put it easier, ive done a extension to tourist visa, ive got 800,000 in the bank, no need to use companies, simply what is the correct & easiest procedures either Laos or somewhere else, infact do i have to leave, well lets see more incredible answers pls

  9. Hi, normally i had a retirement visa, left 3 years ago, accident in uk, so back now, come in on a single tourist, done extension for 1 month, that was because in uk O visa cost £100's with, criminal record, medical, signed by lawyers etc, then visa fee's & only deliver by hand, can go to penang, but im heading up NE, easy to cross into loas capital to thai consulate, of coarse visa for loas, but reading application online it says a CV, monies in bank now, police & medical report, it say 800,000 in bank for 3 month, i believed first O visa was application was 2 month, what sort of CV, medical check is it still 50B, police report as a non criminal should be ok, letter from bank easy, its just has anyone dont there O visa at vientiant loas, i think thats how its spelt & point out any points ive mist & things to look out for regarding application or a better option, im literally 2 hours away to drive to capital, cheers

  10. I did my renewal of my retirement visa, told to collect it next day, then I got a phone call off the head honsho, saying please bring my bank book back in, he said where did I get my money to put in my account, so I said," if I can prove where it come from then we'll end this conversation and proceed to get my visa immediately" sales background kicking in, he replied "yes", so I showed that I have my money in a fund account for the higher interest and transfer when I have to, within 2 minutes I had my visa in my hand, totally strange and I thought eye, eye here we go, so something to be aware of, another angle there looking at, but where does it state you have to have evidence of your money matters, before the 3 month that money has to be in account, sorry to say the new system is pants in the office, cue, downstairs, cue, back upstairs, cue, fill form out, cue to get number, cue, then come back the next day to cue, cued longer then I was spoken to, great to see the coup , didn't loose any tourist, oh sorry it did, so we'll make it a nightmare for them and more difficult for experts who support so many Thais

  11. Called into phuket bicycle shop, only had a couple of MTB shoes, non branded Chinese, the Facebook site has some cracking gear on it, I'll keep an eye on that page, I've managed to repair yet again my old pair, there meant to be somewhere Chaofa east rd, as it runs into phuket town a cycle shop with a Hugh stock of bikes, accessories and shoes, can't think where it is, but thanks again, hopefully pick up a pair ASAP

  12. There is no fixed formula for property taxes in Kathu area. Rule of thumb is 12% or one and half month of rental income given that house is occupied all year round. And you must factor in that if a home is furnished then you only pay property tax on the building rental and not the furnishing part of the rental.

Also if you are using your company owned home for personal use and not making any rental income then you should not need to pay any property tax. It's a real mine field. Have to say that I agree with your accountants - 21,000 baht/year is too high. Our 2 bedroom townhouse rental properties only attract 7,000 baht/year in property tax.

Thanks LIK, even my accountant says the 21000B is to high, I went to the tessa ban and if you can believe it, there mentality is because the previous owner paid the 21000B, it must be correct, my accounts show a income of 60,000B rental income per year, I think the company has to show some income, that can be written off, so that 5000B per month, so going by the 1 1/2 monthly income to pay, on paper it should be 7500B
  13. Hi, does anyone know how the tessa ban calculate the property tax that is related to the company that i have my house in which i bought 1 year ago, i live in Kathu and when i took the company over, i had it audited, the old share holders out and 2 new ones put in, i'm paying 21,000B in property tax a year, i went to pay my accountant fee's for the years books and mentioned the 21000B figure, they said to high, i'm just wondering how it's calculated, regards

  14. My original topic, you are right it mentioned nothing about the death toll, so you are not concerned about the water shortage, obviously it doesn't effect you in a direct way, you said "we are talking about misuse of water here" now if there is as you said a misuse of water and onto of that misuse, there is also a link to the songkran death toll, you are saying again it's not a concern, how very responsible of you, i loved songkran, on that day i was the least miserable.

    buzzkill.

yip you've hit it right on the head, the figure for the deaths over the festive season is growing day by day, now if one death and more can be associated to the miss use of water, then who am i to be called a buzzkill, but as you see it it's just harmless fun with water, tell the relatives of the dead victims out there, as they are crying mention the term "Buzzkill" , i think the death tole is over 200 and counting, please confirm non of these deaths are by a water related accident.

cry me a freaking river and spare me your hyperbole about death. we are talking about misuse of water here, remember, you started the topic.

What does a death "tole" of 200 have to do with a water shortage, real or imagined, in patong?

    NOTHING.

    now go away misery.

  15. once a year c'mon son

well that's ok then, it's only once a year, what does that mean, in what context should i take that, you are saying although Patong has major water shortage problems, people can't shower, toilets are full to the brim, businesses can't function properly, don't worry just enjoy the situation, obviously you don't suffer from a water problem and thats always the way when people say c'mon, enjoy it, they are not directly effected, so can i ask what about the deaths caused by the water related accidents, is your attitude still, C'mon son, interesting ah!!!!!!!

  17. i have to agree about submersible pumps - last a couple of years then need major service or replacement. Gave up with them after the 4th replacement.

I buy Hitachi suction/lift pumps, 11m lift plus the height you need to reach will need a careful look at the pump specifications on the plate with specifications. My guess would be a 350GX model.

HomePro and House & Home have a good range.

Totally 100% agree, i just bought the 150GX model, a nice piece of kit, cost 4700B, but they did have them at homepro for 4600B, i could have saved 100B, but i'd fitted it, Do as LIK says and get the model that gives 11m lift.
