My wife has a 10 year US visa that expires next month. Has anyone had any experience with obtaining a new one? Is there an extension to be had, or does the whole process need to be gone through again? Thanks for any info you may have.

Anthony Loh's explanation is the correct one.. go to Ministry Of Foreign Affairs. if you are in a hurry you can get it the same day (but will have to pay 4X) (at least true for Ubon Ratchathani).
i needed it for the IRS, and it was exactly what they wanted - a "copy" saying the "copy was" really you.

Changes are always slow in coming. as of January 1, new drivers must watch 5 hours of safety films, and pass a not so easy written test, (i failed it twice!) in order to get their license. a modest step in the right direction.

The suzuki swift is 1.2 4 cylinder, 91hp. It's easy to drive and just returned from Kanchanaburi. Lots of heavy traffic and 530 km round trip. Still plenty of fuel left. It's great around town, but up country driving really needs a larger vehicle. The short wheelbase makes it uncomfortable on poor and bumpy roads. I normally get around 14-15km/l on e10 gasohol.
Re Suzuki: Quite right it is 4cyl - i stand corrected.

3 cylinder 1.2 litre, I'd hate to drive it with 4 people and luggage. Strike a head wind and you'd be going backwards.
I'll bet giddy has a big bike too?

call me old fashioned, but i believe the man should pay for dates... if you can't afford to spend a few dollars on a date then you certainly don't have the resources to be a money lender.
