Commercial or not really is not the issue. Think of all kind of volunteer activities, all not allowed without workpermit.
correct but volunteers are involved in a commercial environment, being paid or not is not relevant. HOWEVER doing home chores is non commercial and therefore not a breach, because if following your logic(do not mean you personally) one could be arrested for carrying his/her own groceries from the store
or arrested for driving his own car
Agree with you, I just think 'commercial' is not the correct word or criterium. Many volunteers are not involved in a commercial environment, but still volunteering illegal.
This is something I have never understood. What if you volunteer for a job not currently being done? Such as picking up trash at a local beach? It just dosent make sense.
, well if you go alone and start picking up trash you are NOT in breach, however if you go to the trash company and start to drive around with them or working along side them (even though being a volunteer) you ARE in breach

^ Phl thanks for reporting back
This is just another example of how much damage drinking and driving can do. Not just for the person themselves but also the persons who are involved (either directly or indirect).
Phl, I sincerely wish you will get your Rental Bike back without too much hassle.
, i am sure the moment we pay the impound fees and some other fees for the fees, will get the bike, but unsure in what condition.
I am being rather helpful with the guest and offered for him to wait till tomorrow or Friday to go to police station together and sort it out, but i think many bike rental places would simply demand the full payment for the bike yet still try to get it back after the customer leaves.

lol, commercial may not be the correct word, but i think we both understand what i am trying to say. you could say business, but basically any place of business or commercial activity,
I firmly standby to my earlier post, that home chores are not a breach of any kind.
Volunteers also are assisting others who are working and are being paid,
I may well be wrong, but then we would have heard by now many stories of foreigners being arrested for some silly things like cutting the grass in their own home or painting their own home

Just small update from a guest in the hotel who was also arrested for DUI.
Was kept locked up for 2 days, this morning at 10 am was taken to the court and were held there all day.
Police also confiscated wallets, passports and phones, strangely enough according to him, they did not search the pockets.
From his words, him and another foreigner who are suppose to fly out tomorrow started to make some noise to some court official,
apparently the same court official, took their money 2700 baht, called police station and both were allowed to return to police station to
collect their passports.
He was not issued with any papers, no receipts or anything and no stamp or any notes in the passport.
One thing he mentioned to be odd, they expected people to pay the fines on the spot, but had confiscated their wallets
(so i guess good idea to keep some cash in the pockets.)
Another little problem, bike was also impounded(bike he rented from us also) but no document or any paper trail showing where the bike is, or anything at all.
Hope this bit of information helps

i honestly do not think doing any housework on your own house is a breach of any kind. BECAUSE you are not engaged in a commercial or business environment.
Sure tourist police can stop and TRY to make a case, but i doubt they would insist if you simply do not comply with them, AGAIN because you are not involved in a commercial activity of any kind.
Of course if your spouse owns a restaurant and you are painting it or stacking the fridge, you are in breach. because it is a commercial premises

I do not like the use of Bath for Baht and it irks me almost as much as 'falang' instead of farang.
I genuinely dislike Songkran though but that's cause I am grumpy. Maybe we need to get Singha sponsoring the holiday and fill those water guns with beer then I'm in!
Do not worry, for some crazy reason, i do not see 60 odd million thai's running around splashing water on each other during songkran, i guess they all should also go home. according to OP

When you start threads like this, you have definitely overstayed your welcome and it might be time to either pay visit to your home country or develop a hobby, preferably without involving other people

Little off topic
One of my customers(guests) was arrested for drink driving the other day at 6AM.
He was taken into custody and is awaiting court hearing today.
What is the procedure in Thailand? DO they just get fined? or jail time? does anyone have any idea???
PS. He does not have a lawyer
I think this is perfectly laid out / explained in the OP (or Opening Post or First Post which started this Thread)
Did you read it ?
Edit: //
Spelling
NO, i did not, but thank you for pointing it out in such a mannered way

The initiative is viewed as being beneficial to domestic auto-makers as well as for the sake of public safety
People have to wait for up to 90 days to get a new vehicle, i have a feeling domestic auto-makers are in no danger.
Not to mention second hand market is just as expansive

Does the Vigo have a heater?
I noticed my Ranger does not, prob wont need it, but still.
no heater

ie, new demonstrations by the yellow shirts plus possibly another military intervention

Thanks for the replies. We've been told by the dealer that it could be anything up to 90 days.
So your delivery times give me hope that it will be sooner.
the sad news is, if dealer said up to 90 days, it will most likely be 90 days. I would go to another dealer who will estimate1/3 of that time

Maybe the elevator was broken, and he was in a hurry?
Quite possible
but it says he smashed his way inside by throwing a laptop through the glass doors, ran upstairs and riped a cctv camera from the ceiling
before jumping out the window onto the car
i blame the immigration rules ,all this 90 day extension stuff could make people crazy
No, he smashed the front window from the inside and then ran back up the stairs. He had recently moved into an apartment on the second floor.
Friend said...
Thais/police on the scene said it was 100% yaba because they'd seen the symptoms many times before. He had been fine all week and the staff at the apartment said he was a nice guy up until the incident. If he was mentally ill I doubt it wouldn't have escalated this fast within a few hours. Looking at some other yaba vids on Youtube it looks pretty conclusive but then there could be more to it.
Have you ever seen what happens to schizophrenic who comes off the medication? or any other mentally sick person when they come off medication?also ever seen what happens due to alcohol psychosis?
I, personally am not going to conclude yaba, because thai police concluded yaba without even doing urine test or any other examinations

be aware that reconciliation and amnesty are not the same thing. amnesty is given by the Monarch at his discretion, not by a bunch of Thaksins buddies. reconciliation involves the Thai people, again not just Thaksins buddies in parliament. when the reconciliation bill is passed and supported by a referendum, I will cease opposition to his return. I won't like it, but I will accept it.
unless you are thai national i can not see your support or opposition having any weight what so ever
-
not to jump to conclusions, but where is the evidence or anything saying or pointing that he was on yaba?
he could of been drunk, or mentally sick or a few dozen other reasons

i waited for 6.5 weeks and wrong color arrived

why should amnesty only include one man?! why not pass the bill and free ALL the tax evaders, fraudsters and other offenders?
Perhaps passing a bill with the amount to be paid should they be caught and convicted is the right way for reconciliation, so the rich and connected can just rape the country and get away with it.
Man stole from his own people, what is there to reconcile?! Perhaps take ALL his money, since most of it was ill gained

opening a business WITHOUT thai lady/wife/gf/bg
though a very hard road, and having one would definitely make life easier
-
I'd settle for three.should be only 2 days 18th and 19th
Make it 10, BUT put it into designated area's so everyone else can carry on with their life
-
Songkran is suppose to be fun. However it is ruined by the drunk tourists and certain employees in the bars.
I can only think that it would be rational to make designated areas for water play so the rest of the people who may not want to be soaked can carry on with their life.

while it may well be exciting and fun for all the drunk tourists and sex workers, it certainly is NOT fun for people who actually live here and need to go to work or do whatever chores.
Not to mention that its 1 week of being short staffed(when running a business)
