Before you do anything silly like renouncing your Aussi citizenship that you will regrate later, check to be a 100% that you must do that, to me it looks incorrect, why don't you ask the Australian embassy for their opinion.
I have no intention of renouncing it unless push came to shove but apparently you don't need to renounce. As Thai society is built on a charade showing intent to renounce is obviously one of those sharades that I must go through.
I contacted the Thai Consulate in bbk who said contact the department of home affairs in Australia, so it's obviously going to lead down a rabbit hole unless someone who has done it reads this post and replies.

My ex-wife has Thai and Australian citizenship so why can't you. Why would you want to renounce your Australian citizenship?
Apparently A Thai can have duel citizenship but for a foreigner they need to renounce or at least show intent.

No I don't have a PR visa. Married to Thai, family business etc and eligable to apply. From investigating online the Thai governement require a letter of intent to renounce Australian citizenship from the Australian governement in order to apply for a Thai citizenship but one does not have to follow through. This has actually been confirmed to us by the Thai Police special branch that handle citizenship applications.
If an Australian who has been through the experiece of getting a Thai Citizenship granted could give me information needed that would be fantastic as each country has a different process.

I will be starting the process of applying for a Thai Citizenship (please assume) that I am eligable. My question is what is the process of getting a letter of intent to renounce my Autralian Citizenship from the Australian Consulate? Take into account I'm based in Chiang Mai not Bangkok.
Thanks

No one in Chiang Mai handles such a visa.

It seems not many want to handle such a visa application especially in Chiang Mai and a couple of agencies in Bkk stressed that without their contacts I have no chance doing it on my own.
I would like to know if anyone has succesfully gained a Perminent Recidency Visa without the help of a Lawyer or visa Agency and if not are there any reputable agencies that can be recommended to handle such application?
Thanks

4528 tested positive? oh please what a load of baloney, ZERO cases in Thailand's second biggest city Chiang Mai. talk about a fabrication of numbers.
So let me get this right, Thailand suddenly gives a damn about prisoners, what have they suddenly become Denmark? They've found a way to fudge Thailand's daily numbers by going to prisons and im sure are fabricating those inmate covid numbers anyway.
This is all an exercise of FEAR and just finding out that CP Foods who basically Thailand's biggest company and the owner is among the richest in Thailand has a 25% share in the only vaccine approved in Thailand, it's all making sense now.

How did you ascertain this?
"From the moment fruit and vegetables are harvested they begin to lose nutrients and taste. You’ll know this yourself if you’ve ever ‘grown your own’.
Each day that that fresh produce sits in a fridge, box or shelf, affects its quality. Its colour becomes dull as it begins to dry out, it loses its smell and taste. The invisible side-effect of this is the loss of nutrients.
Fruit and veg that has been imported can sit in storage containers, trucks or on supermarket pallets for days and weeks. During this time it can be exposed to oxygen, light and heat, all of which will rob nutrients."

I'm not a fan of the imported Hass avacados sold at Rim Pim, Top's and Macro, they've lost there nutrition and quality plus they're expensive nor am a I fan of the rubbery and watery Thai avacados.
I know that Hass are also grown in Chiang Mai in season and have purchased them here and there ie side of the road when out Mon Cham way in the past, I even visited an avacado farm in that reigon which grew them.
Does anyone know where I can purchase where I can purchase locally grown Hass's in CM?
Thanks

Haven’t seen it on the shelves for months. The last I saw was a lone jar at Rimping with the price jacked up by 100baht.
Theres something going on and on and it’s not good, they seem to have replaced Gods on spread with an inferior paste called Marmite.
Does anyone one know why Rimping and Tops no longer sell Vegemite?

Today I was told at Macro by staff that Thailand doesn't grow purple sweet potato subsequently it's imported which I flat out didn't believe. Best sweet potato purple and orange i've ever eaten was in Petchabun where im sure is grown.
Anyway back to it... does anyone know where I can buy good quality organic sweet potato purple and orange in CM?
Please dont say the King's Project, that place is hit and miss, im sure that they dont know what produce is going to turn up each day and i dont think ive ever seen sweet potato there.
Cheers

There were a number of these incidents in the last weeks, I know of Koolpunt 8 and Home in Park. They went for empty houses in the night time. Perhaps not the same, but better be careful. The dogs like some entertainment too....
Interesting MadMac.
As it turned out it actually wasn't a female thai but in fact a male thai and a male farang on the back of a motor bike!
Are you able to elbrate more on those incidents?

Do you think your house was chosen by opportunity, or were they aiming for it?
Did the neighbor mention if they knew your name?
Neighbour is an old uneducated duck farmer although very on the ball and nosey. Im not sure at this stage but i dont think my name was mentioned but i shall find out more tomorrow.
Do you think your house was chosen by opportunity, or were they aiming for it?
with all the dodgy Thai and Burmese builders having been on the job you just never know if they might have given a tip off, but a random opportuntiy? I dont think so at this stage.
Did the neighbor mention if they knew your name?
That ill find out tomorrow but the fact shes an old rural farmer who doesnt even remember my name im not sure ill get an answer. It was her that told my mother inlaw tonight although she is very much on the ball and detailed apparently.

BE AWARE!
Having just moved into our newly built house in Nam Phrae (Hang Dong district over near the Canal Rd, we came home after a day trip to be told by our neighbour that a farang male and Thai female arrived at our locked front gate on a motor bike. After suspiciously asking our neighbour of our where abouts they then said they left their tools on our property (bullshit) and wanted to know if our neighbour had a key to our house that they could use to enter. The man then attempted to jump the fence but was swiftly told by our neighbour about our security measures before fleeing.
Unfortunatly I dont have all of the details ie description, age ect as I was just told this now.
I'd be interested to know if anything like this has happened in and around the area.
cheers
