Before you do anything silly like renouncing your Aussi citizenship that you will regrate later, check to be a 100% that you must do that, to me it looks incorrect, why don't you ask the Australian embassy for their opinion.

I have no intention of renouncing it unless push came to shove but apparently you don't need to renounce. As Thai society is built on a charade showing intent to renounce is obviously one of those sharades that I must go through.

I contacted the Thai Consulate in bbk who said contact the department of home affairs in Australia, so it's obviously going to lead down a rabbit hole unless someone who has done it reads this post and replies.

  2. No I don't have a PR visa. Married to Thai, family business etc and eligable to apply. From investigating online the Thai governement require a letter of intent to renounce Australian citizenship from the Australian governement in order to apply for a Thai citizenship but one does not have to follow through. This has actually been confirmed to us by the Thai Police special branch that handle citizenship applications.

If an Australian who has been through the experiece of getting a Thai Citizenship granted could give me information needed that would be fantastic as each country has a different process.

  3. It seems not many want to handle such a visa application especially in Chiang Mai and a couple of agencies in Bkk stressed that without their contacts I have no chance doing it on my own.

I would like to know if anyone has succesfully gained a Perminent Recidency Visa without the help of a Lawyer or visa Agency and if not are there any reputable agencies that can be recommended to handle such application?

    Thanks

  4. 4528 tested positive? oh please what a load of baloney, ZERO cases in Thailand's second biggest city Chiang Mai. talk about a fabrication of numbers.

So let me get this right, Thailand suddenly gives a damn about prisoners, what have they suddenly become Denmark? They've found a way to fudge Thailand's daily  numbers by going to prisons and im sure are fabricating those inmate covid numbers anyway.

This is all an exercise of FEAR and just finding out that CP Foods who basically Thailand's biggest company and the owner is among the richest in Thailand has a 25% share in the only vaccine approved in Thailand, it's all making sense now.

  5. they will want certified copies of her passport from around the time the child was conceived and born as well as yours to make sure the conception was possible

,bluebook and id card as well.

We didn't have to produce birth certificate of mother.

but we will need copy of birth certificate of mothers for a partner visa.

All certifications can be done at vfsglobal office on application.

I got both my children citizenship[ in October, received certificates 10 days later

    88,

are you saying that the blue book as well as the ID card need to be translated into english? It was said that every thai document that was need needed to be translated to english.

    Thanks

  6. After reading the official australian Government website's checklist from what i could see it did not require anything other than the mothers details on form 118.

I decided to ring the Australian embessy in BKK anyway just to confirm to which they said the wife must also provide the same copies as myself eg, birth cirtificate, passport, and other forms of ID.

My question is why wouldnt the offical government website state this.

Has anyone gone through this processes and if so could you please tell me what documents my Thai wife/mother of my child needs to submit?

    thank you

  7. My now wife and i went through the same thing, I wanted to bring her out for 3 mths although she wasn't showing we ticked the pregnant box on the visa form therefor our visa was rejected.

Our only option was for her to have the TB and X-ray tests done and as Jasun alluded to that can cause a miscarriage so that was never going to be an option.

It's a grey area as the Australian Immigration's reasoning was that if she needs medical treatment in Australia its more or less a burden and a cost that the government dont want to cover.

In our case my wife would have been back in thailand by her 3-4th month of pregnancy and at worst any doctors appointments would have been covered by myself.

My advice to you is simply dont tick the pregnant box and you'll have her in Australia.

Not allowing foreigners to buy land seems to make sense to me, as a lot of land is attractive to foreign investors who have more money than most entrepreneurial thais, so they would have bought up majority of the tourist destinations and probably via a setup that would transfer all profit (and thus taxes) to the Cayman Islands.

I don’t think this is directly comparable with many western countries, as they do not have the same problem of attractive land which on a global market is seen as cheap (because Thailand’s lower GDP per capita).

That said, there certainly are examples of other countries putting restrictions on foreigners who want to buy a house or land.

For the comments about OP buying for his wife: I believe that in most western countries, everything obtained after marriage will be divided equally incase of a divorce, yet I hear no-one object to a married man saying he bought a car, bike, house, boat, or similar, even though he technically only bought half a car, bike, house, or boat.

Actually bought this land for myself, ok we all know you can't buy land subsequently need to buy it in your wifes name (not sure why posters persist with this). Living in Khon Kaen is like living in a morgue so I said we're moving to CM. Wife seemed cool with it as she also knows KK is as boring as bat shit and also has family in CH.

Best place to live in Thailand (my opinion only).

Look forward to meeting young at heart Farang with a good story to tell in the near future.

"sister high up in the government helps too."

Really, don't brag that your wife's sister is a security at a local amphur. No one gives a crap.

If she isn't mayor or governor, which she isn't, then she isn't high up anything.

I hate braggards, especially when it has nothing to do with anything. Unless you are admitting on a public forum that your in law is corrupt and uses her power to get her family advantage.

Besides that bosting on your part how succesful a wife you have, the story is great. Just because there are morons on here that tear you down, you don't need to inflate your ego or situation by boasting.

Why do guys need to give their wive's resume to justify the validity of their relationship?

    Hey Zeichen, your a legend!
