i guess you have never been to Hua Hin. 

i have traveled 38,000 kilometers all over Thailand on my motorcycle and much of it on the secondary roads paralleling the main highways. Never any police activity. Glancing at the map of Chumphon I would say same same. Easy to bypass the entire town. 

i went over the entire area just minutes after this happened. 

there is a very slight bend in the road just before the impact area. if you don't make that very slight adjustment to the left to follow the slight curve you just cross the line and now you are traveling in opposite traffic. the google map images make things look very far away.   

photo #1 is looking in the direction the scooter was traveling at the point of impact. 

photo #2 is POV of truck driver at impact. 

sounds like i should be able to make it to Pattaya. 

yes the confusion about drones being legal is why i did not buy one.

i did read you need to apply for permission for each flight which seemed crazy to me. there is a size limitation. small drones are not "as restricted" sorry don't have a link.

yes it's just the same tracks in a dual configuration. 

i have been watching the construction for years. some of it is only half new track and half old tracks. and same narrow gauge.
