Really? Fact-based replies get members banned on thaivisa? Nonsense.

Of course, those who are fact-challenged do often resort to insults instead and those will get members suspended and/or banned.

Just do some real homework and research. EV's sound all sweet and fluffy to comfort the new age emotional generation, but in reality there is another side thats unrealistic. Just do the homework. 2 groups fighting over power thats all, need to look at both side not just media and corporate propaganda. I will leave it here.

Where did you come up with the notion that it takes 8 hours to charge up an EV? If you're doing it from your house, sure. But at a charging station? Really?

Ev's have created new business's  throughout europe. Deisel powered trucks towing diesel generators to charge stranded Ev's that ran out of battery power in the middle of highways. No thanks.

Id rather do a 10 min fuel stop than an 8 hour charging stop.

Fair enough if you are just driving a couple of k's down to the local 7/11, by all means go buy a 100k electric sardine can.

  3. Still cheaper to run a diesel or petrol car as they are cheaper to buy. The day an EV pickup can run nonstop from bangkok to northeast is the day I will consider buying one. I couldnt put up with an 8 hr layover time for charging driving from Bangkok to Mukdahan. EV's are 100% unsustainable and unrealistic.

As previously stated  - not too good at sums are we, to which we can add not too good at geography either.

Still waiting to see a picture of your 6kW inverter ????

Here is a production report from one of my inverters:

    Solar Production 2.jpg

Nice graph but it dont back up your argument. To fully charge an EV it will take 10 plus days and thats on the charge every day without driving it. And you wont have enough power left for the rest of your house. So you will be living in the dark at night. Charging an EV for a couple of hours wont get you far, ok for a quick trip to the Kwik e mart and thats about it. .  EV's are unsustainable and not realistic so tax away tax tax tax.....   https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=104605515456506&id=100077211727232&__tn__=KH-R

    You have solar ????

What inverter do you have? post a pic  - I am keen to see your 6kW inverter

An EV 2 hour fast charge would require a DC charger - they are not fitted to homes! ????

"250watt panels" - who in Thailand has 250 Watt panels? -  Maybe they are 10 year old second-hand ones you bought

But as you said "solar panels and batteries only last 10 years and then cannot be recycled"  ????

"To fully charge an EV with a standard roof top system which is 6kw it will take 2 weeks" - not good at sums at school were we? ????

A standard 7kW home wall box would fill a Tesla Model S 60 in 8 hours.  Your 6kW inverter would take 10 hours  - so your guess of 2 weeks was .......wrong! ????

You dont get 8hrs of full sun per day its 2 hours only this is why it takes 2 weeks.

You don't know anything about EVs or Solar  - everything you have said so far has proved you don't know what you are talking about.

You don't have an EV or Solar yet you think you are an expert! All you are doing is humiliating yourself with your ignorance.

Piece of advice  - when in a hole stop digging

I have a solar system on my roof top so yes I know all about it. To fully charge an EV with a standard roof top system which is 6kw it will take 2 weeks. If you want a fast charge in about 2 hrs by solar it will take 200 250watt panels

You do realize that you don't need fossil fuel to charge an EV - I have only ever used my home solar

So now you proved that you know nothing about solar!

My solar system has an output of 15kW.

There are other EVs in the world not just Tesla!

My car has replaceable individual battery modules

How would you get from bangkok to Mukdahan with and EV would take you a week?. I can make it in 10 hrs nonstop. ok  if you driving 2 min to the 7-11. But rather a motor bike for that. Also solar panels and batteries are also unsustainable because they only last 10 years and then cannot be recycled.

You do realize EV need fossil fuel to charge. Using a domestic rooftop solar system, it will take about 2 weeks to make one full charge for a Tesla. So whats the point? Then a life span of 10 years? There are people in the US that have broken down EV's sitting in the garage because it cost more to make repairs than what it holds value.

Yes it is a tragedy that every year thousands of  people die on the roads  and the police and the government do very little but to be  perfectly honest  I would not want it to change look what is going on in the UK ,Australia and the US with the police and government     CONTROL THE PEOPLE !   here is much softer less intrusion in our lives.  That's just my opinion  what do you think?

100% mate. I have driven 1000's of km all over Thailand myself. I dont have to keep looking at my speedo making sure i am traveling at the right speed or I forget to turn on my indicator etc... All one has to do is focus on driving to the conditions of the road and using common sense. Here in Australia Im just plain sick of it not only putting up with police and all the rules but driving with people in lala land as well.

  10. I have my eye on a XY falcon 500 in the north east . The guy wants 150000 baht for it.. Really good condition. Origonal body, but has toyota diesel engine. Was looking at doing a GT replica . Was thinking of importing the parts I need from Australia . My understanding is you can import spare parts engines ect. into Thailand but not cars..

Was thinking of getting the motor and trans built in oz. Also wondering if I should use an efi 5 liter from an e seriers falcon and stroking it to a 5.6 liter. Rather than use a 351.

I wouldnt want the prject to go past 1 million baht. and will the car be worth 1 million plus once its finished?

It would be a one of a kind in Thailand
