Yes it's an actual multiple entry Non Imm B type visa. We renew every 90 days at Mae Sai for the course of 12 months with a Bonus 90 days on the end as well.
So I will just be fined at airport immigration for the 1 day overstay and then the visa should remain valid? I sincerely hope so :-S -
Specific 'Non Imm B Visa' question. If for some reason I have to overstay on a business visa by 1 day to save $100's of dollars on a flight out of the country to Hong Kong (for a short holiday with the intention to return a few days later), but pay the fine at immigration at the airport. Will my Business visa be cancelled there and then? Meaning the following months I had left will be non usable? (B Visa Currently valid until oct 2014)
My current 90 days is up on Feb 4th but the difference in price between flights to HK are $600 on the 4th and $190 on the 5th.Any advice would be appreciated. :-)

When our friends told us about Chiang Mai Speedkart. It wasn’t long before we were all heading down to the track to race.
I sent an email to the owners Kuba and Nana and asked them if we could film one of our episodes at their newly opened track and they were more than happy to let us do so. We messed around with the powerful 270cc Go Karts and after some practice laps we were excited to put the pedal to the metal and see who was fastest. There can only be one winner, watch the race to see who won!
When the racing was over we headed up to Chiang Rai to explore the area in depth. What we discovered was an array of hidden sights more beautiful than we expected.Usually only stopping in town for a quick visa run, most of the area went overlooked, but this time we discovered a side of Chiang Rai that we won’t forget anytime soon.
Stopping by Wat Huay Pla Kung, Huay Maesai Village & Waterfall, the Ban Yafu Hill Tribe, Doi Bo viewpoint and the well hidden Doi In Cee Stupa, there was plenty to see to make us want to come back for more.

We would like to say a Big Thank you to Kuba & Nana from Chiang Mai Speed Kart for letting us use the track to make our video. They were amazing hosts and we had an absolute blast racing round the track.
Also thanks to Chris & Angela from tielandtothailand.com for letting us use some of their footage for this episode and being such good sports on the track ;-)
Not to forget Ron from Texas for being such a laugh, see you all again on the tarmac!
Hope you Like

8 miles from home - Episode 14
When Robert Bloor, Sachas father, decided to visit Sacha & Jmayel in Chiang Mai. He didn't come with a plan, happy to just meander around their home town. But as with all their guests, Rob was about to be given a tour of the North. This time heading to the beautiful Tea Plantations of Mae Salong.
In this episode Sacha explains how it felt to spend those quality days with her father. The first member from her family to come to visit her in Thailand.
After a brief stop in Chiang Rai, a cross over to Tachileik in Myanmar and a drive through Chiang Dao. They arrived at their destination at Maesalong Mountain Home. The beautiful bungalows overlooking the Tea Plantations and mountains surrounding them. It was a trip to remember...Hope you enjoy this episode.

I assume this is Khun Neungs shop: http://goo.gl/maps/VuqVU
Hopefully he'll be able to sort out the Power valve on my Kawasaki Victor S 150. I'm finding it almost impossible to get parts or information on this bike. Very rare bike now days.
-
Sorry - been a while since I re-visited this thread. His shop can't be seen from the road - it is behind his parents' spirit house display. But if you head south from BigC Hang Dong he is about 500 meters along on opposite side of the road. He is very friendly, so I imagine if you call him first to arrange it he will come out the front and wave, or jump up and down or something.Phone him on 081-724-7172.
Hi CBR250, I tried to find this mechanic today but had no luck. Is Khun Neung close to the Big C past Hang Dong? Or is his shop much further down. Also is the shop actually on the roadside of the hwy 108, any signs on the shop or landmarks? I might try to locate him on google street view before i try to find him again. Any extra info you could give would be great! Thanks in advance.
Thanks so much for your help.
Ill give him a call!

My favourite mechanic for any bike is Khun Neung on the Hang Dong Road just past the Big C on other side of Hang Dong - on the way to San Patong. He looks after my CB 400, and a few other big bikes as well as anything on 2 wheels. He is honest, excellent quality, good English. He does pick ups (picked me up from near Pai when my generator packed in). He still uses his first ever bike - 20 year old 2 stroke. Also has a flying Suzuki 150 2 stroke that is ancient but pristine. And about 10 trial bikes that he maintains for Northern Trials club - he was Thailand Trials champ for 3 years running. He re-builds bikes from frame out, and does good deals and good work. He is a carburetor genius too. Best go and see him and decide what you think. Phone him on 081-724-7172.

Songkran 2013 - The Worlds biggest water fight takes place in Chiang Mai Thailand every April to celebrate the Thai New Year. This time '8 miles from home' decided to see what would happen if we rode our motorcycle into the city on the busiest day of Songkran. As you will see the Thai warriors show no mercy and we get absolutely destroyed at every turn. The spinning camera on our helmet and Sachas wet vest seem to make us prime targets for icy water drenching action. All these moments have been gloriously captured at 120 frames per second and set to some banging Dubstep beats for your pleasure. To find out more about what we do visit: http://8milesfromhome.com/about

Renting Big Bikes in Chiang Mai is something we have wanted to do for a while. So when J's older brother said he was coming to North Thailand for 2 days, it was time to go for it.

Visiting the famous Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh, Mae Ya Waterfall & the highest point in Thailand on Doi Inthanon. Stopping at Mae Kuang Dam for a photo shoot before heading over the Highway 118 mountain pass to visit 'coffee view cafe' for a sunset dinner.Omar El-haj, Sam Brignell, Jude Flanders and Amanda Trefry really embraced the biking spirit and as a result had an epic adventure here on Thai soil.Watch it, Love it, Share it!NORTH THAILAND RULES!Follow us on facebook: facebook.com/8milesfromhome- 2

Road Tripping in Thailand is something we always recommend to visitors who visit Chiang Mai and the North. So when J's middle brother Kamal El-haj & our friends from the UK came to visit, it was a 'must do' event.
Naturally the Mk1 Ford Escort was put to work as we hit the grueling mountain passes from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son & on to Pai. But this time it had a road companion, the 'DENCH' Hilux pick up truck. Lovingly Graffiti'd by seasoned travel buddy Simon Holmes.
Jmayel, Sacha, Kamal, Michelle, Simon, Charmian, Paul, Adam, Eden and Bruce the Bear Wayne (Adams Mascot) set out to condense as many feel good experiences into to the short time they spent together. Riding Thai style in the back of the truck, getting baked in the burning sun, sliding the rocks at Mo Paeng Waterfall, watching the sun go down at the Chinese Village Viewpoint in Pai and hitting the many bars that Thailand has on offer.
8 miles from home Episode 11 is a cinematic Road Tripping video of the good times spent together as family and friends.

Meet J's Parents, Episode 10 of '8 Miles from home' is the cinematic montage of what happened when J and Sach hosted an action packed holiday adventure for Irma and Badru El-haj.
There were train journeys, karaoke moments, cute dogs, beautiful landscapes, road trips and the inevitable breakdown of the not so mighty Mk1 Escort. Completed with the epic finale of the Yi Peng festival at Mae Jo University in Chiang Mai.
After their trip to Burma together, this video documents the following 2 weeks traveling around north Thailand. In an interview Jmayel recounts how it felt to try an show his parents a good trip. Detailing the importance of hoping that they would come to a greater understanding of the reasons they left the UK to seek out an alternative future.

This is some footage we put together of the amazing Yi Peng Sky Lantern festival takes place in November every year across Thailand. Without a doubt the most concentrated amount of lanterns is released behind Mae Jo University in Chiang Mai.
Over 10,000 'Khom Loi' Sky Lanterns are lit in unison after a Buddhist ceremony performed by respected monks. When the moment is announced the lanterns are launched and rise to unbelievable heights. Creating a stream of glittering jewels in the night sky.
Visit 8milesfromhome.com/yi-peng to see some photos of the festival.

Go and buy an already turboed secondhand engine. To try and convert an non turbo engine to a turboed one instead would be madness.
Edit: If it has to be a turboed engine. Just get any modern, lighter, more powerful engine instead.
I Would like to go down this route, but i still need a mechanic that can do the job. My Thai is base base beginner level as well, so communication is a problem.
-
Can anybody recommend a mechanic in Chiang Mai that isn't Jimmy Autos or DayChar that could source the parts and convert my stock Nissan A14 Engine to run a turbo charger and all required other fittings.
I have a Ford Mk1 Escort with a Nissan A14 1400cc engine, carb fuelled with an 5 speed gearbox i jut had fitted to replace the old 4 speed.
Any suggestions?

It's a nice story...I hadn't watched any since #2.
Just one thing, for me. Why are all the scenes (besides direct talking to camera) in slow mo? After a few minutes the novelty wears thin
They aren't. Some are, but not all.

'The Cinematic Documentary of when Irma El-haj returned to Burma after almost half a century'
'44 Years from Kamayut' is a special episode of '8 miles from home'. Documenting the journey of Jmayels mother 'Irma El-haj' as she returns to her home town & country of birth; Kamayut township in Yangon, Burma.
Having left Myanmar 44 years ago during a time of conflict and not returning since, the trip was long overdue.
She embarked on this journey to rediscover the home she had stored in memories from almost half a century ago. Memories of a good childhood with her mother & father growing up in '3rd street' in Kamayut. Losing her Ruby ring as a teenager in the pond near to her home, and a vivid picture of the local boy 'Bpoun Saa' that used to eat breakfast at her home completely naked.
During her stay with 2 local families in Yangon, she met Cho Cho, Tin Tin and their relatives whom are contacts of friends she knows in the UK. They welcomed Irma with the greatest hospitality and showed her the Yangon that it is today. She then met with Lydia, a young girl from Bethel who showed her the way to her home street in Kamayut.
After 4 days in Yangon, Irma ventured north to see the parts of the country she had never seen before. Namely the ancient temples of Bagan. Watching the sunsets with Badru, Jmayel & Sacha El-haj, they all had time to reflect on the amazing journey they had experienced together as a family...
This cinematic account of Irmas return to Burma is dedicated to Doris Grace Hannay. Irmas mother, who can be seen briefly in '8 miles from home episode 1'. Physically unable to make the journey herself, this movie will allow her to see the world she left behind so many years ago. -
We recently created 5 videos about the beautiful City of Chiang Mai and its surroundings. From hiking up Doi Suthep, to getting drunk in the old city and further afield to the highest mountain of Doi Inthanon.

Episode 8 is the story of what happened when the travel video giants tripfilms.com challenged our Thailand filmmakers to create 6 videos of Bangkok & the surrounding area in 3 days. They were running low on cash and had to put faith in the old car that failed them once before on the journey between Chiang Mai and the Capital City. The mission was tough and the mileage substantial. This time the car had to make it...

Could you explain what effect does the marking on my passport have? Is it just to let immigration know that I don't get extra time further down the line because of this particular overstay?
