Noble House is a block or two south of Chiang Mai Gate on Suriyawong Road. Very near the Smith Residence, the top of which is visible from a distance. And if you like small bakeries with good products, there's one called Baan Bakery another block or two south. Had coffee and rolls there several times when I was in town.

Somewhere in this forum I read a recommendation that one should buy a used car, then spend an hour or two with a sledge-hammer banging it up; with this accomplished Thai drivers will keep a very respectable distance away. Perhaps this would solve the m/c parking problem.

Hello TongueThiaed - Just wondered if you've ever done your own roasting? I'm over in India, and was forced to do my own roasting in order to get any coffee besides Nescafe. Let me know - I'd be interested in what roasting machines might be available there.

Buy and Store Coffee in LOS

Making good coffee consistently is a science -- NOT an art. I confess I am a bit of a coffee snob. I enjoy drinking fresh roasted and ground coffee each morning, and insist on grinding the beans myself. I wrestled with the coffee thing for a couple years after arriving here (Phitsanulok). At first I could not even find whole beans, then discovered Doi Tung at Lotus, but at 250 baht for 200 grams, the price was ridiculous. Also, it had been on the shelf several weeks since roasting and was not fresh. e non-commercial consumer. They send it by post collect, which costs about 200 baht. When I open the last 500 gram sack (must ask for this size when ordering), I have my wife who speaks Thai call them to place another order. I highly recommend these people. Their quality has proven consistent and they have proven themselves completely reliable.

Personally dont find people getting done over funny. Stupid, naive, indulgent even, but not funny.

I also dont find it funny when im happily having coffee some place and another westerner whos been done over due to his bad decisions, decides to give me his tale of woe...and how he used to be down on western women but now he thinks differently and wont date a thai woman again..and blah blah blah.. (failing to realise it was more likely their choice in woman, not the nationality of the woman that was the problem...)

@OP, the main cause for so many farangs without a clue is the fact that 50% of farangs have a below average intelligence.

Or because as soon as they see available women (something I never saw in central USA) their small head takes over all the decisions.
