  1. Micorsoft is not interested to replace the batteries. They only want us to buy a new tablet...programmed obsolescence

Never anymore one of their product

All the Microsoft Stores are permanently closed. Microsoft does not replace
batteries, they replace the entire device with a refurb. Costs are at

  2. Microsoft glued the battery to the screen and don't offer a battery replacement service. After 2.5 years, battery lasts less than 2h

I found on Aliexpress a battery that seems to be what I need plus a set of tools to fit it in the surface.I am not good at manual precision works.

    I search a computer shop wich could handle the job .battery plus fitting. (if possible in Pattaya area}

I ordered on Lazada a cable to connect the power plug of the tablet to my power bank.Doesn't charge.

This could be a solution too.But I don't find a shop in my area having this cable

    Some help would be welcome

  3. Thanks a lot to all the members who replied .I will first try 2 more injections of hyaluronic acid in the knee at Phyathai Sriracha (dr Arthithat).Think I will discuss about 3 injections in second knee in order to support my body correctly after surgery (arthrose in this one too

  4. Just bought new HP Envy 700 340d.

    I7,8GB memory,2TB disk,GeForceGTX745 4GB.

    3 years on site warranty

    added SSD kingston 240GB

    total:38200b

    Works like a rocket,no noise

Why bother to build one PC for my gaming purpose with such a beast on the market and 3 years on site warranty.

Anyhow curious to see HP techs coming to my condo????(hope I will not need them hum)

  5. Wattana / opp. Foodland. Best service and prices identical. Ask them to call in for updated price on your model of choice.

    I fully second this advice

They even send knowledgable technician at your home if needed

    And very good prices

Today I bought an external hard disk there (Buffalo MiniStation extreme 500gb) at a better price than on internet:2690b (InvadeIT 3090b)

  6. On Theprasit road,on the left side just before the red light at T intersection with Thapraya road, there is a big shop selling beverages.Bought 96 cans of coke 0 there last week.....licklips.gif

    Perhaps they still have some

  7. some usefull apps for the OP needs

For video viewing:AVPlayerHD accepts a lot of video formats. No need to convert into MP4.Previously I used yxplayer2 lite (free).I was obliged to convert the videos on the PC .Took a lot of time and typically a 700k Xvid format became 2,4MB in MP4.So I lost a lot of space on Ipad. And quality is a lot better with AVPlayerHD

For book reading(epub,....) I use Stanza

For Comics, books and magazines in PDF, I use GoodReader.Big adventage ,you can create folders to store your files

For Comics in zip or rar I use CloudReaders. If you have JPG comics, convert them to rar files (through winRAR) on your PC.Very quick

  8. Nice reviews of the S60 but there are 2 little problems in Thailand with Volvos

1 Cost of spare parts:one of my friend had a S60.Automatic gearbox out of order after around 2 years. No intervention of Volvo. The quote of the electronic box driving the gearbox was..240 000 b

Finally a grey import from Malaysia costed 80 000b

2 resales value. The car price was 2.300 k b.After 3 years Volvo proposed 800 k if my friend bought a new one explaining the S60 is unsalable second hand. And it was during a motor show

    So buyers beware

  9. All sounds a bit Fishey to me.

    +1

When I bought my first car in Thailand Axa insurance asked me a document from my european insurance cy prooving I had 50% NCB discount.

Axa applied a 50% NCB discount following the receipt of the document

When I changed my insurance cy some years later, the thai insurance cy did the same ECB transfer without problem

My advice:see an another insurance cy

  10. Could you provide the adress/direction of healthland please.

    thanks in advance

Try the ayuravedic massage at healthland. 300 thb for an hour. These massage therapists have gone to university and are not your typical massage therapists. She will ask you where your pain is and tailor the treatment specifically for you. I went for severe back spasms after i had an operation. I showed her my scar and that I'd had an operation two weeks ago and told her where my back hurt. I won't lie. The first session was hard. She used deep tissue massage, heat and stretching. I felt better. I went two more times and my pain was gone completely. I have a lower back problem in that I have only half of one vertabra (was born this way) and have a slipped disc. I went back to see her anytime it started giving me trouble. I think they have 3 of these massage therapists but I always saw the same lady. Book the day before because they get filled up fast.

  11. All my photos are transfered on PC first

Then I wish to choose some to prepare some albums to load on my non jailbreaked Ipad

Searching on internet I found 3 solution's paths

I cut and paste them here

    First solution’s path

    A. Created a new folder on my desktop for my iPad bound photos.

    B. Create al the folders I want in there.

    C. Upload the synch feature of iTunes

    D. Once in my iPad I then use an app called Photo Sort to rename my images and create the folders I want there.

    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-sort-for-ipad-organize/id369610590?mt=8

It's not perfect, and I'm still figuring out the features of both the iPad photo and Photo Sort. I hope someone creates a real portfolio/display app soon. I have another thread on here from last week where we starts talking about desired features.

    Second path

portfolio app on the iPad, and it can import directly from stored photos, url, or dropbox. http://ipadportfolioapp.com/With portfolio, when prepping the images, i export with LR and have the Rename option on with 0001.jpg, etc

    Third path

You could try either of these apps available on the App Store:

Photo Shack Pro is a fantastic new photo management app for the iPad that is the perfect iPad app companion for the professional photographer and photography enthusiast. It allows you to create your own photo libraries on the fly, fill them with the photos you want, drag and drop photos in the order you want, access your photo's embedded detailed photo data, map the location where the photo was taken, flip through or slideshow your photos in full screen, zoom in to full resolution, add titles and comments to your photos, and iTunes transfer selected photos to your desktop or email them.

iAlbum Pro is a Virtual Photo Album for the iPad that looks, feels, and works just like a real photo album, and comes with multiple options for covers, pages, page corners, and photo borders. It includes special photo effects, such as B&W, Sepia Gold, and Sepia Rose, plus you can size, rotate, place, and mask your photos any way you want on any page, including the coverpage! It's a beautiful and intuitive way to showcase your favorite photos in a format that's a pleasure to use.

Both apps allow you to organize your photos on the iPad, without needing the help of a computer.

I actually prepare my albums on the PC and send them on Photo on Ipad via Itunes.
