There is NEVER a good time to go to Pattaya the best time is when you realize it is best to get out from the place as quickly as possible

Renewed always at BKK embassy about 10 days. But you will have to pick up the new p/p. If request mailing to you you have to leave the old one there so you will be a few days without a p/p and you also will have to get your visa transferred

I would have thought that some of the toll-ways would be better suited than the old city. Only problem is that these are owned by several private companies which would all have to agree and get a chunk of the cash
-
Why worry, just mail the thing on due date and you will be fine. No need to go to the immi office
-
Very strange I never carry my passport. I would just show my Thai drivers license, works for hotel check ins
-
Send him to BKK Hilton for a few years this will fix his attitude

Never mind things will not get better in Yankee-land any-time soon. The debt will get higher and higher and explode one day and to the detriment of everyone in this world
-
Basically I would never use an ATM to withdraw cash from overseas because of the charges and the exchange rates. I transfer the cash from time to time and use only my local ATM card to get cash

My Veteran's Disability and Social Security are both done by direct deposit to Bangkok Bank, NY branch. Available for withdrawal and transfer from the D.D. account to joint acct I have with my wife after 12:30 the next day. No transfer fees.
This is true but the exchange rates are terrible. I would never ever use Centrelink to send money to me. I collect it at my bank in Aussie and transfer when I have a few thousand Dollars in the bank

This is very common, I know of a few Thai women who do exactly the same. Foreign husband comes home, Thai husband moves out

Just enter into the usufruct with the actual Thai owner and if the house in a future point is registered into your future wife's name draw up a new one. Just worry about the present and handle the next step when it happens.

91 green is fine, I use it too

Why should anyone with 78 not have all his marbles??? I am 72 and I think fairly up to date with technology etc, I would NEVER fall for a scam like this

This is justice in Islam for you. I lived in Saudi 6 years, I know (no they did not cane me) :-)) However as far as I know the person doing the caning has to have a copy of the Koran under his arm when delivering the punishment, so it won't be too. severe

Another one of these!!! I remember there was a raid on Pantip a few years ago and they found actually three pirated CD's in the whole complex.......What a catch

There are many benefits, mainly registration of car and drivers license is easy as well as you can be listed in the local hospital as a resident and get treatment for free.
Documents vary from Amphor to Amphor.
I needed a translated copy of my passport endorsed by embassy an Ministry of foreign affairs
Poo yai baan to confirm I live here for some time
My wifes blue book and her id cards
This was all
the interview takes about one hour (it helps to speak some Thai) and the document took about three weeks to be ready for collection

How can it be "UNAVOIDABLE" ??? A little planning ahead would go a long way... As we know a stitch in time....
-
I bought a condo 10 years ago in BKK and the land office did not give a rats a..... where the money cam from. And I had my blue book as well
-
The banks do not encourage this practice, when I bought my house I wanted to draw 3mil in cash to give to the seller, but the bank definitely insisted to give me a cashiers cheque
-
I would budget between 60-70k per month to live in a reasonable style
