There has just been a 6 month appeal on a Pattaya FBook page that closed recently. They raised Baht 1.6-1.7 Million, where is that money?

Great question, if someone knows can they please post what's happened to that money (of which I donated 5000 Baht) because when I asked a perfectly reasonable question on the one and only page with information about it I was immediately blocked!

I'll only donate directly to big charities in good standing like Care4Kids in the future.

  2. The Kings Cup being played at Phoenix is beyond a joke!. I rarely play there but did last week, the course is 2 steps up from being a goat track. A short goat track at that. That "new" 9 was a good waste of time and money.

It will be the absolute worst course any European players have set foot on as a pro, and I really hope they say that into a microphone.

  3. Yes Thaihome, golf in low-Def is definitely NOT the way to watch it. Making matters worse is Fox cutting across to their Asian studio for expert analysis from some complete idiot that can't put a sentence together and likely plays off 36. They'll probably wheel Michael Cambell out to give it some sort of legitimacy but it's beyond annoying!.

While typing this rant I just checked my ilikehdtv schedule and see Sky Sports 4HD are covering the Masters. Saved!.

  4. ^Why does there always have to be some <deleted> chime in with such a negative all-knowing statement on this forum?.

    ^^Thanks again.

As for it being "a sham event", I know it's the end of the season and everyone is just grabbing some Christmas money. But, some of the better players in the world will be there and this is the best chance to see them hit a ball in the flesh without leaving Thailand.

  5. It's a good field at Amata Springs this week, including quite a few of my favourite players (both Thai and Int'l). So I'm thinking about going up there from Pattaya one day to see them live. Anyone ever been there for this event before?. I'd like to go but is it a nightmare parking or being able to follow the players around etc.?. Any advice from those who've been before would be highly appreciated!.

  6. I spoke to the manager at Foodland on Pattaya Klang today. He said they had hoped to start building the new one this year, but due to the economy the project was on hold. I live nearby the new location and would be really happy to see it built and open, but it doesn't look like that will be anytime soon.

  7. Craig are you sure about the Air con and no smoking part?. I was there one afternoon this week, there were customers sitting at 4 different tables and people were smoking at all of them. There were ash trays on most of the vacant tables too. It's a nice venue, much better than before with the recent extension and re-modelling, but as far as I can see it's still a smoke-friendly bar. Nothing wrong with that of course, providing you're a smoker or don't mind 2nd hand smoke. But I won't be going back which is my loss because it looks like they have some good live entertainment acts these days.

  8. They have always had a good English speaking phone operator at New York Pizza. They store your number and link it to your home address too, very handy for repeat orders!. If you call American Pizza Factory for delivery it'll be an American that answers the phone, that helps!. As for Pizza Hut - Pizza Company - KFC, they all have online ordering which takes the headache out of it.

  9. Arrived yesterday,

Just came back from a scooter tour to Big C Extra.

Pattaya Klang was fully open both ways at corner with 3rd road.

    No blockade, no signs.

    Did I miss the news?

    Or is it temporary?

Thanks very much for that information KhunBENQ, and also all others who are posting with real-time updates. I live in Jomtien and go grocery shopping at both Big C Extra and Foodland weekly. The normal route we take is along 3rd Road then turn right into Klang to get to both supermarkets, then we come home along Sukhumvit down to Thepprasit. So this information is very valuable to me and I'm sure many others!.

What a nightmare this is going to be, or already is!!.

  10. Whatever happened to Image Limo, they used to have good drivers and new Nissan Teanas. I used them a lot when I lived in pattaya. I heard the Brit owner had sold it a few years ago. Anyone knows?

Don't know if they're still around or not. I used them a lot till being left high and dry at Bangkok airport one time, never used them again.

Now I use http://www.thelimopattaya.com/ and have no complaints, I always ask for an Accord and that's what always turns up.

  11. Baruto what you describe at the start of you post is basically what Doctors do anyway, the part with the syringe without the needle which turns it into a giant water pistol!. I go to Dr Oliver when ear wax built up has happened an his Nurses use this method and warm water, exactly as you describe it. Works perfectly. I would be afraid to do this myself at home though, and would imagine if you used too much pressure that real damage could be done.

  12. I'm still waiting (hoping) some people come to grips with the fact that this life isn't a rehearsal, when it's over that's it!. Ok, if someone has to live on a ridiculously tight budget and has no options of rectifying being in that financial position, that's fair enough. But I get the impression there's people doing so that have access to good-living money as some sort of a twisted experiment?. There's people in this thread living on way less than what many of us spend on just groceries or electricity per month!. No thanks.

  13. Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread, and too lazy to go back and look right now, but I saw some photos recently of the Sunday roasts at Killkenny pub on LK Metro and they all looked very good.

  14. A good friend had cataract removal from both eyes, and mono-focal lens implants done at Bumrungrad less than a year ago. It was about 165K Baht including a single room overnight. If BPH are quoting 220K just for cataract removal, you now have something to judge what sort of a price that is against.

  15. Can you tell us more about the Sunday BBQ please. How does it work, do you chose your meat and they cook it while you fix yourself up at a salad bar sort of thing?. What meats do they have. etc
