  1. Thanks guys

    Sadly not under warranty :)

My friend reports disappointing experiences at Honda dealers. Said it seems like they have better things to do when he's gone along in the past for minor tasks. He recommended a little garage which is easy to find as its almost directly under the overpass where Ekamai intersects Petchaburi (perhaps 30 yards West and on the North side of Petchaburi Rd). I went along this afternoon and they worked fast and were friendly. In the 20 mins I was there a few locals came to have their scooters serviced. They can work on motorbikes but seem more kitted out for mopeds. They charged me 440 for oil change (+ new filter) and installation of new front disc brake pads fwiw

  2. I have the rental contract for my current address with my name and passport number on it, but no official Proof of Address document from immigration.

Is this i) never ii) unlikely iii) likely iv) guaranteed to work for transferring the green book to my name at the DLT?

edit: its a private sale PCX150 where the owner 's name is in green book and the owner is in person with me fwiw

  3. Thanks for the quick responses.

For what it's worth I did extend my 60 day tourist visa by 30 days at immigration. Not sure if that changes anything.

Yes, I have photocopies, police report and letter from immigration. I understand I would require these 3 things if I wish to transfer the old tourist stamps to the new passport. But specifically, do I need to do this if I can just apply for a student visa through the school outright?

  4. I lost my passport in BKK but fortunately, after a nerve-racking wait, the new one has been delivered.

I have photocopies of tourist visa pages in my old passport, but this month I wish to obtain a one year student visa.

Do I need to go to the Immigration Office at Lak Si to get the tourist stamps replaced into my new passport before applying for student visa? Or since I am upgrading my tourist visa to a one year one, can I just go ahead and get the one year visa into my blank new passport?

I am a little worried about going to an airport one day with a student visa but no entry stamps...

    Thanks! :)

    Andrea
