  1. I have found the superstores here good. Many are foreigned owned and used to having somekind of return policy if you follow their requirments. Don't bother with the Mom and Pop places. Once they have your money they do not care if yoou ever come back to buy anything. The exception is if you have lived in a village for some time and they know you or your wife, then they will make adjustments sometimes.

My wife can go to the market on market day and if she forgets her money, can buy anything and pay the vendor later. That's Thais trusting Thais.

I'm interested to know which superstores in Thailand you think are foriegn owned?

  2. krungthai has a good fixed rate at the moment,4% 22months 10,000bht min.this suits me fine but i have to open a current acc.so the interest goes into it.oh well open a new one and close an old one easy if you have a free day.

4% may seem like a very good rate today but in nine months time it's likely there'll be better deals around, 22 months is just too far away for my liking but if you're happy with it, great.

  3. I have quietly followed the CR forum thread for a long time and at it's most vibrant it can only be described as sedate, although I have seen exchanges take place between visitors and CM residents that became interesting, clearly the remoteness of the far north strains many people over time. But I'm pretty certain about two things when it comes to CR's most active TV poster, number one is that his photographs are often truly stunning and number two, his arguments are nearly always accurate and appropriate, locals failing to see those things might refer to my early point about living in the north.
