  1. What I have an issue with is the posting of the pic and the implication that she was an easy low-class university girl conquest. This was posted without her consent, and it is there for all to see, on this public forum with 18,000 members and god knows how many guests!

For one who might think her pic is public domain, well think about if your girlfriend/wife had given her college classmate a pic to add to the class photo gallery and some guy took it off the website and posted it somewhere else bragging about what a great low-class fock she was?

I'm surprised as well that nobody came around to close the thread (even when the poster involved suggested it himself!) If this same picture had "Bargirl - I had her last night. Try going to XYZ bar sometime" below it (which is almost what was implied in the posts, just changed from "bar" to "university"), I believe it would have been removed already? :o

  2. So why there are people complaining about Bargirls and everything when you guys can find such perfect THai girls ???

I have been wondering the same thing myself after spending some time on this forum, wildcat. How come the world that these guys paint is so different from the one that I know?

Then I realized that it probably is! If you were an expat working at a multinational company here in Thailand, you would be able to meet several lovely, intelligent women, but what if you were here as a tourist, or to retire (or even if you were an expat who for some reason couldn't get a date with a "normal" girl)? Chances are the touristy areas, with their pubs, go-go bars, and massage parlors (:D with "beautiful, willing ladies" - though a western guy's idea of beautiful might differ somewhat from a Thai's), would be the most accessible. And there you have the perfect breeding grounds for doomed relationships. Guy goes in, with money and is looking for some fun/sex/companionship, while girl can provide such fun/sex/companionship and is looking for money. And as rav23 said, relationships are based on a common direction and common needs of the two individuals involved.

The problem is when the guy expects something for a longer term. He now wants sincerity and faithfulness, which often the girl cannot/is not willing to give, as she's already married or has a boyfriend, or wants to keep playing the game, or simply doesn't like the guy enough to have a long term relationship. However, her need for money (the reason she's doing this in the first place) is still there. You can see where this leads.

However, some may argue that even "normal" Thai girls are like this! Oh, why oh why do they have to ask me for money?? Well, as in relationships around the world, there's always the possibility that one party might need to ask the other for money. Yes, it might be more so here than in the guy's home country, due to the economic and social conditions, with the farang guy being perceived (and usually correctly so) to have more money than the girl. But you run that risk in any relationship where there is an imbalance of financial status. Yes, it's possible that a "normal" Thai girl might ask the farang guy for money. But NOT ALWAYS. And the guys who argue against that, well, I guess they're just unfortunate enough to get only the "bad" ones (though you might wonder why is it that they can never find the "good" ones, eh? :D)

I guess it boils down to what these guys have been exposed to. How and where a relationship begins sets the theme, and I guess these guys just don't have access to the "normal" environments. We do have some who lurk around universities though.. :o

By the way, no offense to those who have married some nice ex-bar ladies. You guys were lucky/good enough for your girl to decide that YOU (not any other farang, not any Thai bf) were the one they wanted to settle down with. :D Bar girls are women who have hearts too, and they're not all schemers and liars.

  3. LOL, thanks for all your interesting replies.

I was mainly wondering whether a guy would think that the girl was showing interest in him, and if he did, what he'd think her motives were.

From the replies, it seems split pretty evenly between those who wouldn't think much of it (and/or appreciate the attention/friendliness) and those who thinks it's an invitation (or at least shows potential).

Of course, there were a couple of "Thai girl generalizations" but that was to be expected and I was actually surprised there weren't more, considering the numerous posts of that nature on this forum. :o

Anyway, here are a few more to the list:

    - "Shish, is my zipper open??" :D

    - "She's cute. Great smile."

    - "I guess she's wondering what a farang is doing here, eh?" :D

    - "I wonder what she does for a living?"

    - (as before, feel free to add your own! first thought that pops into your mind.. )

Is this when I walk alone or with my (Thai) wife?

    Alone :D

but if you're getting smiles while walking with your wife, you can share your thoughts on that as well!

  4. Karmanee Palace Hotel- Soi Pradiphat, (Phahonyothin 15)

Its near Saphan Kwai BTS. I have stayed there, its nice.

    Alternatively.

Central Sofitel, which is at Central Ladprao - north of Chatuchak. I've also stayed there.  Also satisfactory more pricey.

Budget: You'd need to go to the former

There's also Maruay Garden Hotel, but it's not as close as the two mentioned above. A budget hotel as well, I believe. Do a Google search on it and you can find some info on it.

and here's the website for Sofitel Central Plaza Bangkok

  5. I think the little shops that provide post office services in the department stores should still be open, there's one at the BigC across from the Central World Plaza, and another on the 3rd floor of All Seasons Place. No guarantees though :D

However, if I'm not mistaken they might have to depend on the government post offices for the actual deliveries. :o

  6. Kat thinks I'm an unsavoury chauvenist just for complimenting Nat on her mammeries.

I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her, I can imaging she'd be the type to cut the beltloops on my trousers and feed me cat food bologneise.  :o

You have every right to worry about cat food bologneise. It pales in comparison to soi dog.

    :D

Hey, dog meat's not that bad, I unknowingly had some several years ago when at a merit-making ceremony at a temple in Nakhorn Somewhere. Well, it was okay until after I found out what it was, that is.. :D

  7. Lets define "decent"girl.

Decent, as in one that screws your brains out while staying home and cleaning and cooking for you while you work with out giving her any cash.  They don't exist.

Or desent  as in a girl that works and screws your brains out and doesnt ask you for money.  They dont exist either.

Take my advice, to stay away from problems, stick with the not so decent girls who will give you great sexual pelasure and then leave you alone after you slip them some baht.  Why oh why would you want some long term relationship with one girl which will cost you lots of cash when you can have dozens of shorter term affairs at reduced cost and less headaches?  I never could quite understand this type of thinking.  Where do some of you guys come from?

Thailand is not a great place to meet the type of girl you are looking for.  Look at Thailand as a big meat market with lots of potential one nite stands.  Dont look at it as a potential dating pool.

    Turok

    DP25:

OH I'm so sorry.  You have one of those "good girls."  The only one in Thailand.  I wouldn't trust any of them!

The time will come when she will change and your desire to sneak around will also change.  8 months!  She just setting you up for the day when she will pop the inevitable question.  "When u give me money?"  Just u wait!

    Turok

Oh, it's you again Turok. Hi, thanks for describing me and my fellow Thai gals as pieces of meat in the big meat market of dating in Thailand, I really appreciate that. Now I'm off to go pop the "When u give me money?" question to some poor unsuspecting foreigner. :o

And congratulations to DP25 on getting the only "good girl" in Thailand! :D I wish I could be one too, but apparently there's a quota for only one in this country. :D

  8. Normally I lose track of them as I assume there's something stuck in my teeth, or my zipper is open. After stopping for a quick check in a shop window I find she's gone.  :D

True, I could mearly feel to see if my fly was open, however if there are good ways to attract the fairer sex I cannot fathom that rubbing your hand over the front of your trousers is one of them.

    :o:D:D

Hey, who knows. Michael Jackson's got millions of fans around the world, doesn't he? :D

  9. Hi all,

With all these threads about Thai girls - uni girls, bar girls, farang-scamming girls, etc.. and the varying opinions on them, I just wonder, what does a farang guy think when the average Thai girl smiles at him? Let's exclude the bar girls, the elite, and the laborers, as well as the supermodel-beautiful or horse-faced uglies. Just the okay-looking, kinda cute maybe, middle-class ladies that have 9-to-5 jobs (it's usually 9-to-6 here, though). or maybe a university student (who is really studying to get a good job, not just going through the motions to get a degree).

    Are you thinking:

    - "Hey, she looks interested. This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship (or courtship).." :D

    - "Thai people are so nice and friendly to the tourists.." :D

    - "D@mn, I'm good-lookin'!" :D

    - "I'm fat and ugly, but those Thai girls still love me!" :D

    - "She must be out for my money."

    - "I wonder if she speaks English?"

    - "Oh, another one of those farang-crazy ones." :D

    - "Too bad I'm married (with kids)."

    - "Ah, another easy one." :D

    - "I think I'll make a move."

    - "How do I make a move?"

    - "I wonder how much is she?"

    - "I love this country! :D"

    - "She must be a bar girl. All Thai girls are bar girls."

    - "Alrighty, here comes #43.."

    - "She ain't thinkin' anything! This is the Land of Smiles, of course. "

    - "Can't she tell that I'm gay?" :D

    - (feel free to mix-and-match, or add your own)

I'm prepared to get a whole range of answers, maybe post what your own reaction is, and what you think your fellow farangs might be thinking..

Just curious... a purely hypothetical question, of course.. :o

  10. My first thought after reading the article then was "Gee, how did he sneak this past the editor? :o There must have been a deadline issue or something so it went directly to the press!"

  11. Asian's in general are racist according to 'He who must not be named' - however, there are some very open minded and charming Thai's out there who have not picked up unsavoury 'farangisms' or unpleasant traits during their time abroad.

Siamesekitty appears to be one of them and I wish her all the best in keeping her dogs from howling at night.  :o

LOL, thanks Scamp. :D (though it's actually only one dog and the problem is during the day, not night. She must miss my charm while I'm away at work. :D)

  12. Could a moderator please remove the pic of the poor girl or something? I know she's an adult and wasn't forced to do anything, but I'm pretty sure she didn't consent to having her picture posted on an Internet forum, along with the posts about conquests of university girls, for all to see. I think she would be hurt that you betrayed her trust; when she gave you the pic she probably wasn't expecting you to post it on a public forum and brag about having a string of "low class uni students", was she?

edit: However, even if this girl was not one of your conquests and you just wanted to show a pic of a university girl to illustrate, it's still not nice. I sure wouldn't want MY pic on a thread like that!

Direct me to this thread please.

I think the thread being discussed is: Jealous Thai Boyfriend, careful who you talk to

  13. I went to JJ (Jatujak Market) today as a task of Mission "Peace to the Neighborhood"

First of all I set out to find that "kong" thing - "a giant rubber pine cone type thing with holes in it, you put food snacks or peanutbutter inside, and they spend lots of time trying to get food rewards out..." - that bina told me about that might keep my dog busy while I'm not home.

However, when I asked at the shops if they had ever heard of a "kong", I received only puzzled looks :D and friendly but confused laughs. When I tried to explain what it was they looked at me as if I was asking for an abacus for my dog to use in solving complex mathematical equations. :D

I finally gave up and decided to just find the biggest, toughest edible chew toys there were, in hopes they could keep my dog occupied during the day. (My dog ignores rubber or plastic stuff; as for edible chew toys that are smaller than my hand, she seems to think they are "chew and swallow" toys which she promptly eats up right away. :o) I ended up spending a small fortune on an assortment of various chew toys (made sure they were big enough to buy some time), biscuits, beef jerky, a new squeeze toy (didn't work before, but worth another try), and most importantly, a big hollow bone which I will try to improvise upon. I'll try stuffing some peanut butter or meat in the middle and see if this interests her.

I didn't get around to buying a kennel yet, was lugging too many things around already. pudgi/bina, does it have to be a proper kennel? She already has her own corner of the garage that she sleeps in, could I just arrange it to be a small enclosure?

For the past few days I've been feeding her right before I leave the house. I don't know how long the silence lasts (haven't talked with the neighbors yet) but at least she doesn't start howling the moment I'm out of sight! :D (I can usually hear her even halfway down the soi.)

  14. and I'd also like to apologize for any ignorant racist Thais you happen to encounter here. Racism is a problem throughout the world, borne of ignorance. However, there isn't much education about that here in Thailand, unlike in places like the States where the message against racism is communicated through the education system, the press, and the media. A lot of people here don't really feel it's "wrong", unlike in western countries where the norm is political-correctness.

So sorry for any of that you get here, as well as whatever confusion I caused as well. :o

  15. Black people are referred to as "khon dam" (คนดำ) or "negro" (นิโกร) - please note that this is not meant to be racist or negative, it's just the word they think is to be used -. I don't think most Thais really distinguish between American/European blacks and Africans, except maybe when it's obvious that the African doesn't speak much English and can't communicate every effectively.

    Are you Thai?

Most Thais are racist towards Blacks. I have heard some say they are not but just don't want to do business with them as they are 'dirty'!

I have been in two situations where people talking with me referred to balck people using the pronoun, "mun". I couldn't believe it! I know that is what Thai people use for farang when they are not there or can't speak the language. Please don't try and tell us that Thai people, in general, are not racist towards Black people.

Yes I'm Thai, though I admit I might not be an accurate representative of the general Thai population, as I spent a significantly large part of my life abroad. I'm not trying to say that Thai people, in general, are not racist; unfortunately racism does exist to a certain extent, though it might not be overtly prevalent.

What I meant by "Black people are referred to as "khon dam" (คนดำ) or "negro" (นิโกร) - please note that this is not meant to be racist or negative, it's just the word they think is to be used -." is that the words "khon dam" and "negro" in Thai are not to be considered dirty words; they are not racist words like "nigger" (pardon me for that, I needed an example) or other derogatory words that I can't think of (and would prefer not to think of) for the moment.
