  1. i have the tesco citronella spray... i will certainly never ever buy again...

in general, citronella indeed works very well - just not this one, for some reason...

i thought there might be some "binding agent" in it, which is crap(?)

it smells very strong, the mosquitos are back in 20 minutes, and its all gone in 45 or so...

i shake the bottle i spray in layers... dunno, for me it doesnt work a bit...

at home i only used citronella/neem to keep spiders and things out...

i sprayed once every 2 weeks into the window/door frames - worked perfect!

with the spray here, there is something wrong...

  2. apparently, they havent found the whole body in that plastic box...

only some parts of it, and it was mentioned that some sort of "acid" might have been used (or so)...

there is no such acid, which destroyes bones and things but no regular plastic box... im not sure, if there is even any acid anywhere available which does destroy a body completely, then maybe in a emaille-bathtub or so...

given the utterly strange time frame, set by the "husband", the family and the "law-firm", it appears, that she was murdered, digged under somewhere by her murderer...

as she had three children, a plan to get some money was prepared...

the body was located and the few limbs found were put into a plastic box and driven to doksets house... when the financial background of dokset was figured out by the "pro`s", the police was sent to doksets house - who, against all odds, refused to pay ... (?) ...the rest of the story is in the paper...

i believe dokset is in danger in prison... if he doesnt confess and the case goes into trouble he might be at a serious risk...

  3. NamKAheng... i found, that it is in europe absolutely prohibited, to wash the eggs during the manufacturing/packaging process...

the raw eggs in europe aint cooled. they are stored near the fridges, but thats it...

i thought it was about BOILED eggs, which have to be cooled, as during boiling the shell might crack...

  4. i have always wondered about the eggs you see out in the sun all day

You can keep the eggs out of refrigeration if the eggs have not been wash like in Thailand but in farangland they wash the eggs destroying the natural protection of the eggs. When they are wash they are getting porous. The unwashed ones have a longer shelf life.

the (unwashed) thailand eggs are same clean as the (washed) farang eggs... how comes?

do you have a link about the washing/protection/shelf life thing?

  5. if anyone has a link, i would really like to read up on that story...

    1) when was she reported missing - and who reported her?

    2) when was she last seen alive - and by whom?

    3) when was the villa raided - and where did the police search before?

    4) did the police man (allegedly her husband by then) ever show up at the villa and ask if he had seen her?

  6. elephants indeed have an elephant brain... they remember everything and everyone - for all times...

im not sure, if an elephant gets quickly that aggressive...

imo, a lot of abuse has to have happened (before)...

When a male elephant is in heat he can become very agressive. If that is the case, he would have been separated from the rest of the elephants. In Thai, Chan Dok Man.

a lot of the guys who are "in care" of the elephant(s) consider them a bit of a toy, dont they?

as in - look what i can do, this huge dangerous animal does all i want... dont they?

    i thought they do...

and about the hammer, someone mentioned above, i think to remember a stick with a hook (maybe 3 hooks together, each bowed to the outside), which is pushed more or less behind and on the ears, to direct the elephant...

  7. He could have ended with 10 years or less if he had pleaded guilty. He is playing a dangerous hand by pleading not guilty.

Yes, I have exactly the same feeling. But his reasoning could be: if this approach works I might get off, if not, I get convicted, worst case for a foreigner would be life sentence. That sentence I could serve for a big part in Norway, where after 10? years I would be released. So nothing to loose, might as well give it a go.

5 years or 10 years... he would be a convicted murderer for all his life...

just read the little little in the articles at the beginning of this thread...

first was said, she was the police mans GF... then - all of a sudden - they were allegedly married already...

lemme guess: a very small celebration, just a few few people there?

why should dokset have killed her? he had already another girlfriend...

it sounds more plausible, she wanted to quit with the police man and return to dokset...

    what then?

the police man would have had a "quite good" motive, to get into a rage...

why should dokset place her body for weeks (decomposed) in his bathroom?

not even buried in the garden, not brought away?

the police man would have certainly have had any chance to find out, when dokset is at home or not, and could have tried to implicate him.. as the police man would have been asked FIRST OF ALL, where she was...

he was "naturally" the main suspect... he could have had a motive, and he could have had the means to dispose of the body to doksets house...

if you havent committed a crime, you might admit to it in the first shock in a foreign country, with a lawyer telling you its the lesser evil of all...

but would you really go to prison for 10 years like a sheep, if you havent done it?

    would you?

..and most likely, they cant even prove anything...

do you think, if there were leads to the police man, the police would have followed them very thoroughly?

  9. Of course the prosecution has a strong case, there is a confession and there is the re enactment which he apparently did very convincing.

(i dont know, but think have heard, that...)

confession + reenactment = not enough to get a conviction (from an international viewpoint)

as a thai citizen, he might have been off best with a confession, whether he had done it or not...

but as a european norwegiancitizen, he might be eligible (and have access to) more legal means...?

(just found, norway is not eu member...)

What international viewpoint? If that were the case a lot of convictions from US trials with juries could be overturned because 'from an international viewpoint there is not enough evidence.

Sorry, you're talking nonsense here from my point of view, but maybe he is thinking the same as you are.

    international viewpoint = civilized countries...

are you sure, that confession plus reenactment is enough for a jury to convict someone?

    i would be suprised...

maybe it isnt even enough to raise charges...

  11. According to one news source his trial started today and he surprised prosecutors by denying guilt on all charges.

Has even rejected forensic evidence about the ID of the body.

New hearing scheduled for Oct 29 in Surat Thani where autopsy took place, then in Bangkok on 3 Dec where the second inquest was held.

Yes, read that as well. Does not seem a smart move, but time will tell.

In his situation he probably sees any significant jail term as a death sentence and is therefor willing to take the slim chance of an acquittal over no chance?

I thought the general rule of thumb here is if you plead not guilty & are eventually found guilty there is a good chance of a death sentence. Being guilty of murder incurs an automatic death sentence which is normally commuted to life if plead guilty & show remorse.

in case he gets convicted, without proper evidence, im wondering if he could appeal to the international court of justice... he is norwegian...

could be very embarrassing for thailand, if they dont have real evidence to show, but a crappy investigation?

  12. a lot of them might be posers, with their university jackets, teaching at star bucks...

when they have to meet at some pupils home, most of the fun will be gone...

the recklessness here is astounding... and its NOT so, that people dont realise that they do...

easy to find out, just be reckless yourself - woooohoooo, baaaaaad farang...

recklessness is perfectly alright, when directed towards certain groups... a buddhist approach?

  13. most clever thing to deny all charges...

the court/police has to prove, he has done it... end of... (evidence, forensics)

quite unlikely, the prosecution can make such a case...

nobody must be convicted on a confession alone, we all know where such things lead...

even with a dead body in the bathroom, the owner doesnt have to prove his innocence, its the court which has to prove his guilt...

  14. Well dad goes back to thailand and within 10 days is dead. We dont really know why, except that he went to hospital with breathing problems. his UK GP, was surprised, having recently seen him and found him to be in good health. by the time my sister and me arrived in thailand, he was embalmed and sealed in a box in the garden.

    he died in the hospital?

cause of death: unknown, or was something (e.g. heart failure) established...
