  1. Btw to answer another question...

    What food do I prefer?

Honest food...nothing too fancy,a good product prepared with love and respect...some people will call it peasant food- I call it comfort food...

Bit off topic ...but if you want to know if the hotel you just checked in has a good restaurant try their burgers and club sandwich...if they are good the chef takes pride in his job and worth to try more...

  2. Though I still have to sleep for some hours befor heading back to work...I will answer some of your questions.

Smileys: my favourite one is on another forum due not 100% kosher

Thai food: have to admit I am not a big fan of Thai food but I would say Khao Soy

Other country to live in : Bermuda

Night mates,c'ya tomorrow and Sunday I am off( so God will)...

  3. Crazy Chef 1, I have an urgent COOKING question for you.

I've got some STALE rice I want to use but I'm too lazy to cook fried rice.

Can I use STALE rice in a cold salad with lots of liquid in the dressing? I'm wondering if the liquid in the dressing will "open up" the stale rice and make it kind of crunchy/ delicious. Or is that a HORRIBLE idea?

Rather a bad idea...for a salad the rice should be still warm to absorb the dressing....best to use it is for Khao Pad....chuck a egg in a pan,add diced onion and carrot add whatever you want( moo,gai,goong...) add the rice and season with a bit fish sauce and soy sauce and LOADS of sugar...finish with a ( deep) fried egg...

  4. What an interesting assortment of posters we have this year. So we have the prima donna, the prankster, the petulant proselytizer, the proletarian and the perspicacious photog.smile.png

Great four out of the five description I don't know...but who is the proletarian???hope you don't mean me because chefs are not just hard worker but also creative minds, financial strategists, trainer, visionists and loyal to their team and friends...but also blunt...

  5. Have to be back to another bone braking day in my kitchen in a few minutes...though will be back tonight...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU....

Welcome to the FINALS Crazy Chef! I'm so glad you made it. Went to bed yesterday around 10:30 pm, probably while you were still working. Nothing exciting happening on the Semi-Finals thread and I was tired from a long day of Christmas eve parties -- undoubtedly catered by hard-working people like you.

So this morning, when I got up and looked at what happened on the Semi-Final thread after I went to bed, I was so wracked with guilt to see that you had checked in just after I left and all you wanted in your fatigued state was to see a nice amusing cat video. You waited in vain, not knowing I'd gone to bed. I had failed you. Plus, I hadn't voted for you, back when it was possible to be generous with votes. I felt like the Grinch who Stole Christmas.

But then, as I read this thread, I see that you had your Christmas miracle, Crazy Chef. You've made the Finals!

Crazy Chef -- do you like Christmas? Many cats don't.

I wouldn't be too worried. God knows what he and his cronies say about you in their little clubhouse...[/quot

so much bitterness even at this time of the year where forgivness and reconcilation should prevail...
