  1. I also got mine in Hanoi about a month ago. They were more than willing to give me a Triple-Entry Tourist Visa but I had to show proof of flying in and out of Thailand for each Visa

Got the exact same firm NO (with a smile!biggrin.png ) for a Double Entry. Got a Single, next day pick up. Couldn't be easier. No line up, no fuss.

  2. Hello,

We've been living in CM for the last year but always lived in Serviced Apartments in the city.

The wife and I decided to stay for at least another year so we are looking for something cheaper/more spacious. Something in the range of 7000 to 13 000 baht. A house or an apartment will both be fine as long as it is pretty new. Might be willing to pay a bit more for something newer and very clean.

Basically, I'm looking for any recommendation on where would be a good neighborhood to stay in. Where should I avoid moving too? Looking for something within 10km-15km of the city. Looking for very quiet, somewhere where I can still get very fast internet (an absolute must!), cooler temperature (yeah, I'm dreamin' here! smile.png ), easy access to food and a safe neighborhood.

Another quick question: if we rent a house, do we have to get electricity and water plugged in? And how much should we expect to pay per unit?

We have no experience with renting outside of the city so I'm sure some of you guys have lots of experience in this matter to share!

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

  3. Well, I gotta say that their sandwiches sure look a LOT tastier than their burgers! This photo might actually have convinced me to give them another shot, in all fairness. But does it taste homemade or more like Subway?

  4. I'd rather have no smiles and good food. But both would be great. The staff was smiling and courteous but that won't get me back as a customer. And I don't think it's too much to expect something else than cheap 7/11 white bread when a place specialize in sandwiches. How's is it called again? Amazing Sandwich? Too bad, I had high hopes for this place and I didn't even make it to sandwiches...

  5. My personal best is Bake & Bite on Kotchasarn Rd Soi 1. They have a great breakfast selection. Love the Egg Bennie! And they know how to cook eggs over easy so that's a big plus for Thailand. They also have homemade wholewheat bread and healthy options that don't taste weird so that's a plus. Their Muesli Pancake are fantastic, best pancakes I've ever had. Coffee is very good. I've been there several times and never been disappointed. It's a bit on the pricey side but it's a nice treat once in a while.

Is it the best place for Breakfast around here? Who knows but it's a pretty decent one for Chiang Mai!

  6. Well, just had a couple burgers at Amazing Sandwich... The girlfriend had a chicken burger and I had the meat burger. We were both not impressed at all by the quality and taste... Hopefully, their sandwiches are better. But we'll probably never know as there is lots of better place in town to enjoy a good meal.
