  1. Yes Thailand please make it same way like Europe does, C and D visa's.

C Visa is short stay max 3 months and D Visa is long stay 5 years ( with D you can work no work permit needed )

And with the Asian schengen area please apply same rules which you find in Schengen Europe.

I'm Dutch married with a Thai and live now in Belgium......no Visa fees apply its free of charge !

  2. The wife is landlord herself and I make the contracts with the tenants, the contract stipulate and can be negosiateable.

    General:

Repairs on aircon's we pay but cleaning the filter tenants pays or dot it themself, its an easy Job like cleaning the dustbag from the hoover.
Regarding faulty saving bulbs they must replace them selfs, garden/swimming pool we take care but poolchemicals tenant pays......

  3. Good connections between Italy and Thailand.

Good model to ameliorate the connections between Dubai and Thailand.

    No double standards please!

I may stand corrected but I think I am correct in saying that Thailand has never, going back to the days after the coup, ever requested an Interpol Red Notice for Thaksin which means he can travel to any country willing to let him in without fear of arrest and extradition.

Thaksin was never listed on Interpol ......

  4. Make it more easy Falang can open businesses ( no Work permits or other stupid regulations ) that Falang can have land on there name (like in the most other countries) then more investors will enter Thailand, the Falang creates more jobs.......and les girls/boys need to work in the prostitution industry. But maybe they are to late.........Birma is comming up with much better laws for Falang and cheaper.

  5. My Thai wife is guardian over the daugher of her sister.

We have a house in Belgium but we applied at the Swedish embassy a Visa for her, they made the Visa ready immidialy and was free of charge. The little girl she din't need to be present at the embassey.

The Belgium embassey knowing it would have took weeks maybe months to give a visa as they don't follow instructions, my expirience. If you apply at the Belgium embassey and you are Belgium citizen then they could be affraid she will stay in Belgium and possible they want to stop this.

    Good luck.

  6. Frequently I fly from Belgium to Morocco with different EU airliners.

    It's a 2.5 - 3 hours flight and pay mostley arround 100-125 euro for a single ticket.

Last year flights from BKK to HKT takes 1 hour and prices exploded, befor I paid arround 2500 bht, now average I pay 4000+ bht (102 euro ) single flight with Thai or BKKairways.

Flightcost for an EU airliner ( wages ) are higher then for a Thai airliner.

Conclusion Thai airliners flying from BKK ( not Don Muang ) filling there pockets as they can operate cheaper then EU airliners.

  7. I know there is an agreement regarding driving license between Thailand and Belgium.

So it has nothing to do with EU.

Also I read on the Dutch gov website you can continue to use your eu driving licence until it expires then you have to renew it in the country that you are resident in.

I'll try and find links and post them.

Sent from my HTC Desire S

Its correct Netherlands and all other EU memberstates don't swap a Thai driver license, Belgium does and you or your fam.member need to be registered.

It take arround 1 months after registering they swap, and the license is permanent not expires.

My wife did this procedure 3 years ago.

The link below you find the states Belgium recognise the driver licenses.

  8. Indeed, the document NoBrains has linked to is 10 years old; the regulations have changed since then; in 2011 if memory serves.

Although I believe that in exceptional circumstances it is still possible to apply in a country where one is not a resident; but it is not routine.

The regulation/instructions art 3 is not changed since 2002.

If newer rules/instructions apply the "Eurolex" link i gave will be updated immidiatly and old docs will be removed.

The Eurolex is direct Access to European Union (Schengen) law and current.

If 7By7 thinks its not current then put here in this topic the right regulations/instructions link from Eurolex.

I must admit that the memberstate embasseys and customs have a lack of knowing the rules and they get instructions todo so only to get the cash, Its a business machine to get as much money out of there Visa department but that's an other topic.

  9. @ NoBrains You are totally confusing readers of this thread, the OP's girlfriend hopes to get a six month tourist visa for the UK, this is the normal length of visitor visa to the UK , not 90 days.

As has been pointed out already by a number of people who know the rules, to apply for a visitors visa for the Schengen Area you must do so in the country where you reside, in case Thailand.

The OP has said nothing to suggest that him and his girlfriend are living together in a relationship akin to marriage.

@ thewaggaringa It would seem that your girlfriend hasn't yet received her visa for the UK, I would strongly recommend that when she receives it and you are sure what countries you wish to visit, she then applies to the relevant consulates in Bangkok. It will be a lot easier here and certainly better than trying to argue the case when you are in the UK.

I know the rules: a Schengen D-visa which is a longstay visa ( more then 90 days ) and you intent to apply for residence in a Schengen member state. This visa must be applied in country of residence.

A Schengen (holiday) Visa which is a C-visa max 90 days can be applied all over the world if its not your country of residence.

Read chapter II art 3. http://eur-lex.europ...001:0096:EN:PDF

Don't let you send away from a embassey when they say you need to apply in your country of residence.

Some embasseys don't know the rules.....point to the instructions.

Example: A Thai bizz man has a UK visa todo bizz and stay in the UK, suddenly his plans change as he must go to the Netherlands for a meeting, he should go back to Thailand to apply for a C visa shortstay visa ? noway nonsens. He can apply in the UK at the Dutch embassey.

  10. thewaggaringa who has opend this Topic his girlfriend has a 6 months UK visa so she must considered be a member of his household, normaly you get only 90 days.

Totally wrong; the standard length for a UK visit visa, whether family or general, is 6 months.

You seem confused; the UK is not part of the Schengen area and Schengen rules are irrelevant when it comes to UK visas, and vice versa.

Read the link I provided earlier to the regulations and explanation of same. Having a child together may be acceptable evidence of a durable relationship, but the couple would still need to show that they are living together. A child would only reduce the length of time that they would need to have been doing so.

No im not confused as i see aswell 3 months UK visa's in the past , my wife got aswell a 6 months UK visa within the same day of application in Brussels ( im Dutch )

  11. thewaggaringa who has opend this Topic his girlfriend has a 6 months UK visa so she must considered be a member of his household, normaly you get only 90 days. Aswell it depends which member state you apply the Schengen Visa, Spain, Sweden, Hungary and baltic states are more flexiable to interpret who is family member. ( national law ) .

If you have a child with your Thai girlfriend and you not married then aswell you have a durable relationship !

The Swedish route is very populair for Danish citizen, the Belgium/German route for Dutch citizen to get there partner easy over to europe.

  12. please read the Art 3 from the mentioned directive.

residence the persons concerned may have in their own right,

legislation, facilitate entry and residence for the following

not falling under the definition in point 2 of Article 2 who,

in the country from which they have come, are dependants

or members of the household of the Union citizen having

the primary right of residence, or where serious health

grounds strictly require the personal care of the family

    relationship, duly attested.

The host Member State shall undertake an extensive examination

of the personal circumstances and shall justify any denial

Mostley our Thai grilfriends are our partners and yes she is dependend.

  13. You girlfriend can apply always a schengen visa in Thailand or the UK.

When apply at a other member state embassey fill the form that she is a family member of UK citizen ( you )
