  1. so I guess the tales that some posted on the other page about mozzie repellents being put into drinks weren't to far off then. The worldly and wise branded them as loonies running around in tin foil hats with conspiricy theories. I guess there is something to be learnt here, next time before some attack others with insults, stop for a moment and consider the possibility they may actually be more intelligent than yourselves and not escapees from the loony farm. I am refering to minority, those that think they have thier doctorates in everything known to mankind.

OK, but how much have they had to ingest for it to be lethal and the article talks about an overdose of DEET ?...surely that would be a very large amount

how do you know it would have to be a larg amount? What is a larg amount? Are you a toxicologist? The questions go on and on.
  2. (We have al ong thread running already discussing in detail all gyms in Pattaya)

In a nutshell, no there nothing even close to California Wow. Fairtex barely rates a consideration. It's far too small and has very limited equipment. It's ok for a casual trainer at off peak times.

    please lord,not again.
  3. Thailand declared war on the US and UK on Jan 25, 1942. Few if any Thais were killed building the railway of death. Many Asians were killed but no or very few Thais.

I realize we will play the game that the Thai ambassador never delivered the declaration of war to the US. Well that is silly. An ambassador does not have the power to change a governmental decision and all those American bombers that bombed Thailand for years did not think so either. Nor did Thailand when it surrendered. All Thai diplomats were interned in the US in 1942 and the ones that wanted to go back to Thailand were sent back and exchanged for the American diplomats from Bangkok. Nor did the Brits in 1946 when they occupied Bangkok. Nor did Thailand when it gave back the territory to the French and Burmese.

"few if any Thais were killed" "many Asians were killed but no or very few Thais" quite possible, but then, maby not.
  4. Guns should be illegal to own ANYWHERE!

betcha he's a yank. Gotta have them firearms.somebody already summed it up, if so afraid that you need a gun, wrap yourself up it cotton wool a d crawl under the bed and stay there.

Why would you pick on Yanks? It is legal for Thais to own guns or people from Switzerland. There are 10 million hunters in the US and more game now than hundreds of years ago. There are nutcases everywhere check our the current thread about Norway.

Admit it. Repeat after me, I am another Yank hater on Thai Visa!

Sorry everyone else. I get so tired of the constant bashing of people based on nationality that occurs here be it the US, Thailand or any other country or ethnic or national group or sexual orientation.

every 5 days there isa multiple shooting in the USA,google it, if no guns, no multiple shootings.
  5. NASA has refused to confirm or deny that the pyramid shapes on mars are of the exact dimensions of earths pyramids. Their alignment with the solar system,as are earths pyramids in pure coincidental. The site I got the info has just been taken down. Pure coincidence?..

  7. Thailand is one of the most enlighted places to live, it has its problems, where doesnt, but the Thai People genuinely welcome foreigners and lets face it, thats what you are. Think how the old countries treated their foreigners especially when they didnt want to adapt.

Seriously, there are a lot of words available to describe Thailand, enlightened is an antonym to most of them.

if they don't want to be antonyms, they should not use a non de plum then.
  8. Some of us have lived as ex-pats in more than one country,

I thought you were only here as a tourist?

(So in what countries have you lived as an ex-pat?)

I never claimed to be an ex-pat in Thailand......I named Africa, Germany, Spain and China......not Thailand. smile.png

theblether, whatever that means, You should know by now your going to get misquoted all the time on tv ,they just don't take the time to read what is written.

  9. To the many Thai Visa contributors who responded to my query,

    Thankyou all very much.

For the record I am a New Zealander travelling on a NZ passport

and after reading all of the advice presented here I am sure that I will have no problems

    passing through Singapore Airport.

    Thanks again Y'all..........

    Traxster

  10. I think its a fairly normal market for the type of destination that it is. Meaning fairly normal ups and down. In my time participating in it I haven't seen overly extreme bubbles OR crashes. That doesn't mean either can't happen but I really don't see the fundamental reasons for either to happen.

But i do think bubbles occur when they start building and building and building I see so many apartments going up and you see so many cranes. Are they investors or people actually wanting to live here. I think if the demand is high no problem keep building but if there is a hiccup and there is an over supply and no demand there will be trouble.

correct amundo, they wouldn't get built if they hadn't already been sold off the plans. I know this I am SAS, real estate division.
