The only thing he's done wrong is to apologise. He should stand by what he said.

Let us hope that our Generals won't adopt that line of thinking.
"our Generals" ? I guess you must be a Thai citizen. As a foreigner they're not "our" anything. They barely tolerate us being here.

but beer and women are cheap
Have you even been there ? Yes, get down to Nagaworld for the 'cheap' prostitutes. Prices start at a paltry $200. The Chinese have ruined Cambodia - just like everywhere else they go.

A climate not unlike Brazil then. Which is having a few problems.

Last week, the ONS said black people and men of Bangladeshi and Pakistani origin were nearly twice as likely to die from the COVID-19 disease than whites, even when adjusting data for deprivation.
Deprivation ? Free benefits, healthcare, and given priority job opportunties over the natives in many employment sectors - including the BBC. Let's imagine Thailand giving us that kind of 'deprivation'. Never happen in a million years because they're not completely insane.

The bar/girl "scene" is pretty much finished. The virus has put the final nail in the coffin. Most of this kind of business is done via social media apps - has been for a while. Its only older generation men who've kept it going in places like Pattaya. Watching go-go dancers behind plastic screens might be the only future entertainment for tourists. Barfines, and "what your name? where you from ? you buy me dink?" is over.

It is almost like self-centered right wing politicians who couldn't care about their own citizens is somehow connected to how they handle this crisis, who would have thought it?
There's nothing "right wing" about keeping borders open at all costs.

I have emailed Boonrawd Trading Co accordingly....... still waiting for a reply.
It's exactly the same beer. Was just rebranded last year. I've been drinking it for years - well, until last month.

I think we need to look at the broader picture here by looking at how it could effect people on a large scale.
Not everyone who likes a drink ends up in a drunken stupor. In moderation its a stress reliever.

If I'd known they were going to just outright enforce prohibition indefinitely I'd have bought as much as I needed until I can get out of this totalitarian state. I don't drink much but won't live anywhere I'm told I can't enjoy a cold beer at home when I want one.

Can't even have a cold one at the end of the day ? I'm done here.
I hope future potential tourists and expats remember this and go elsewhere.

Apart from the fact some people are sober for the first time in years what is the point of having a ban when the fore mentioned "Mum and Pop" shops are still selling.
I wish I could find one of these mythical 'mom and pop' stores still selling grog. Here in Chiang mai I haven't found any willing to sell me any beer ????

Dream on. This regime had already destroyed the tourist industry before the Chinese virus. It's as if they all sit around a table trying to come up with further ways to drive nails in the coffin - 'Let's ban alcohol indefinitely !' Yeah, great place for a vacation.

Phnom Penh is a city with no public parks. They were sold off to the Chinese so they could build overpriced apartment blocks. Planting a few trees is not going to make that dump any more liveable.

Global boycott of Chinese goods by consumers. It'll be difficult but I won't buy anything new that's been made in China. I'm buying used, paying more for quality goods made in other countries, or going without from now on.
