if you are expat or tourist and living in Thailand with a visa and this one coming end during a lockdown you can always ask a letter from your embassy or consulate for Immigration to extend your visa or extension for 30 days price 1900 bath..There is a provision(clause2.28) in the current police order(327/2557) concerning extension of stays that allows immigration to give a 30 days extension"based on embassy request".It is what they are using to issue they cannot travel due to Covid-19 extensions.

Hello everyone,
Has anyone experience with the requirements from the Royal Thai consulate in Penang?
I can read on the visa requirements Non O based on marriage this:
Point 5:a copy of marriage certificate and a copy of Thai passport or a copy of Thai id card (if married to Thai national)
point 6:a copy of marriage certificate,a copy o Thai passport/a copy of Thai id of spouse and statement
They ask 2x the same and what's mean statement,is it a letter from the wife to grant a visa?
If i good understand the point 5 is if you are married with a Thai lady, and point 6 is for me very strange or is it may be a mistake in the translation or they need 2 sets ,this is coming from the website from the embassy in Penang.

i think we need be honest, now the government try to explain what to do in case of infections, but actually if this virus go to the schools it will be difficult for the ministers to explain to the people why is it happening,i think they make a big mistake, they need stop for the moment the arrivals from China to avoid more infections. It is not about education, just a choice between economy or the health of your people.Errare humanum est, perseverare diabolicum!!

I have just submitted my non-o marriage 1 year visa application today at the Thai consulate, Savannakhet.
did not ask for financial proof.
5000 baht for visa and I will pick up tomorrow.
regards Geordie
I was thinking that you can make a Non O based on marriage for 90 days and then make extension for one year in Thailand, what are the requirements for a one year visa is it single entry or multiple. Can you confirm please.

International expat polities guarantee life time renewal,my experience,i am 73 and cannot be accepted by any Thai insurance,i received in 2016 2 surgeries, inguinal hernia 3 days inpatient, and 1 stent in left coronary 3 days inpatient, both in private hospitals, price +- 500.000 baht and all the costs payed one month before the surgery and 3 months after+ all medications,i have a cover of +- 2000.000 baht /year,all bills pay by my insurance and never received a question,i have this insurance from my job when i was 25 and i pay more now since i am 65 +- 2600 euro/year,how can a Thai insurance give me the same conditions and at which price? It is not a also the OA expats not paying the bills but the tourist go and back, they are several comments on the net about this,it is a big mistake about the Thai authority to take the old expats like example, may be time to grandfather this pilot project and 100 baht insurance with all tourist stamps.

Half of 9,000 is 4,500 – mainly Russian, Chinese and French – not paying their bill, out of 14 million visitors to Phuket, i.e. 0.065 percent.
448 million divided with 4,500 is an average bill of 99,556 baht.
The leading reasons tourists sought treatment at Vachira were after injuries during water sports, motorcycle accidents and attack by animals.
Recently the news stated that government hospitals now something like doubled their their prices for foreigners, so seems like that half that do pay the bill, in the future pays for the half that don't pay their bills, so what's the problem...????
one month ago it was about the old people with OA from a long time ago not paying the bills, change like the wind.

Retirees have an insurance and a very good insurance, everything pay until the last baht,it is not the good rule to let the old take a thai insurance die cover only 400.000 and some with deductible 300.000,the most dangerous in Thailand are the tourist visa between 20 and 40,let they pay 100 baht with the visa stamp, like they say 40.000.000 passengers x100 baht it is a lot of money and the hospitals will be pay in case of no payment of the bills,i know one thing that the private hospitals ask first before beginning the treatment if you have an tyravel insurance or credit card,if not you c

That's the correct information. You need to leave the country when your O-A Visa expires (to kill it).
Then apply for a 90 days Non-Immigrant O based on retirement, in for example Savannakhet or Penang, but you have to meet the financial requirements. Check their websites.
i prefer the marriage visa,i just only prove 40.000 baht/month or 400.000 2 months before application, may be in the end of the year they will begin again with the Non O retirement to have an insurance, and i have a foreign one and all bills pay from my 2 surgeries in 2016.

Could you please say what Immigration Office told you this?
Me also the same need go out to kill the OA and coming back on Non O based on marriage visa ,Tha Yang immigration, why not a standard procedure for all Thailand, then out for a few days.

Why don't you check the requirements online? Every embassy or consulate has a website with all information you need for every type of Visa?
yes they have everything online but change constantly, why they are not using a standard procedure, each consulate or embassy have other rules.
