  1. Where does this blanket "Thais aren't creative" idea come from?

it could have to do with the fashion style here? rolleyes.gif

or when walking through the places, where do you see something you call creativity?

im not sure, what artists you see, but i dont know of any... not in furniture styling, nor in painting...

but have seen many asian interior and exterior styles, fashion and dances, copied in europe - but absolutely zero from thailand - all indonesian and LOTS of indian...

added: ok, this is possibly, because due to their colonial influence, the things changed - the local style was enhanced and modified, which made sort of new artwork --- means "creativity" was applied... thailand didnt have colonial influence...

also the number of restaurants (food, spices) which got taken to europe - its not from thailand... its indian, indonesian, malay... if there was creativity here, then these things would make their way (to the world)...

creativity (def.) i would think is something "new", "new made of old", changed/improved - making more practicable, beautiful, different...

  2. if he has retirement money of 65,000 THB, and his wife now only sends 20,000 THB, then she certainly doesnt take the rest for herself, but the money gets saved for him...

from the OP i dont understand, why 20,000 THB per month are not enough to care for a person with dementia...

if there is more money needed, and there are bills to prove that, then certainly the german relatives will send more...

    or not?

i think the guy has sufficient money and he should get a proper care here...

    its really awful...

  3. COMPLETE AN UTTER BULLSHIT

My god this place is getting worse

Has anyone heard of a Suicide by stabbing yourself in the chest blink.png

But of course the Police will be happy to go with that conclusion

    DK

Actually happens all the time here in Pattaya.

One guy stabbed him self 5 times in the back!

Isn't that what was done on a regular basis by the Japanese, called harakiri?

yes, but they didnt have (at the prime time of harakiri with sword) much other means and a man had a sort of relationship with their sword...

it was a most precious work and very important item to the individual...

it was a question of honor, to use this sword... sort of...

perhaps they would have chosen life over death, if they had only had a fruit knife at hands....

  4. i would think, thailand can permit doctors from elsewhere to practise here, if they solely treat non-thais...

what is the reason, sense, that a doctor has to speak thai?

there is a huge expat community, and a lot of tourists, which could be treated by them...

as there is a massive language problem with thai doctors or a lot of farangs encounter other problems, it would only be fair...

and further - i am wondering, what regulations cambodia or burma have on practising western doctors?

if it is easy (easier) for them to work there, then it might be very quickly shift all "medical hub" dreams to the bin...

  5. Causes of the problems

    Social Structure

    1. Child sexual abuse problems are raised from structural violence traditionally placed in the Thai society. Thai society is a male dominated society where the patriarchal culture allows their male members to freely have irresponsible sex, extramarital sex, and to practice very little consideration when there is sexual needs. This structure and cultural violence leaves other members of the society with unsafe life conditions and with risk of sexual violence. A micro-level study indicated male teenagers' view on rape. Some of teenagers believe that rape act on a women is an acceptable situation if there is an opportunity to do so.

    3. The country's deep-rooted corruption. A middle rank policeman clearly explained, 'rape cases are widely regarded among policemen as easy money-making opportunities. The defendant is willing to pay and this is why you see all sorts of tactics to discourage the victim to back off... the attorney, too, it ill be opted into this process.

  6. It is one of those loopholes in the law here. You can't make it, sell it, distribute it or buy it but there is no specific law about possessing it.

are you saying, overseas can sent megabytes of childporn here, and the thai authorities/internet providers would never act on this?

are people doing something, to close this "loophole"?

    what could they do?

  7. For example, if a well turned out, well groomed, youngish, smartly tastefully dressed guy walks in to a bar establishment, than it is likely that the lookers will show interest in him.

now as you mention it... there was another research, on men visiting brothels and what "type of women" was preferred most...

it werent the pretty young ones...

it was the one, who was most outgoing, nice, easygoing, replying - almost the rather "motherly" type... a friendly, warm smile did wonders... ways more than sexy appearance...

so - you (OP) sure, you are after the prettiest one?

  8. and possibly also the angle of the stabbing...

if he was stabbed while sitting or lying on his bed, then the stabber could have stabbed in an angle from top to bottom, would be normal, particlarly if one needs to use much force (?)...

such a position of a knife in a chest wouldnt look like suicide - maybe the reason it was removed?

but its possibly also common, that a stabber pulls it out "instinctively"...

ok, could be also more likely to stab yourself from such an angle...

  9. balis country side is like paradise...

also the balinese construction style, or things there built by the australians, in general the huts with open air bathrooms, is very beautiful... and usually in lush green exotic settings...

though, they have no window panes - there are always lizards inside...

  10. “Teerak [My love] Can't stop loving you - wish you all the best - you are the woman of my dreams - good by

not sure, if a 50something swiss banker would make such a mistake?

to me it sounds also a bit very "blethering"...

...and, why was his wife not there?

it appears strange, that people wake up in the morning, and stab themselves, first thing...

whats wrong with his usage of are?

i thought were would one use under such circumstances...

  11. In the liver, CoQ10 is made in a pathway similar to the way cholesterol is made. So when a person is on a statin, which inhibits an important enzyme that makes cholesterol, the CoQ10 pathway is also impaired. It is believed that two important classes of medications, the statins (simvastatin, atorvastatin, pravastatin, lovastatin) and beta blockers (atenolol, metoprolol) decrease (up to 40 %) the production of CoQ10 in the body. Eating antioxidants in Super Foodssuch as pomegranate juice is a good way to replenish CoQ10 in the body. Some experts feel that older patients on statins or beta blockers should take CoQ10 supplements to replace the reduced levels of CoQ10 in cells. Some experts feel that people who have high blood pressure should consider supplementation with CoQ10 as well as Vitamin D3.

People with high cholesterol tend to have lower levels of CoQ10
  12. It is only very very recently, in western society, that there has been so much open and media talk about paedophiles and the education to encourage children to report inappropriate behaviours.

    ...

There are many reasons for non reporting or for non action. Just a few are: long held taboos over mentioning sexual abuse, family embarrassment, shame, fear of reprisal, fear of being an outcast, fear of not being believed that good ol Unlce Jonnie did bad things, and the list goes on.

i agree, and this feeling embarrassment, shame, fear of reprisal will certainly never go away from any society... also the pedophiles have been there and will be there forever...

but that parents deliver their children

and the society looks away when knowing

... this hasnt been so in the western world...

and THIS has to be punished much - if it was, then the pedophiles wouldnt see thailand (asia) as a "paradise"...

but it isnt punished... or have there been reports of parents/local middle men in the press?

there is no pedophile prevention, as there is no "general rapist" prevention...

so it has to be made as difficult as possible for them...

but here, children are a fair game?
