Maybe if he has a huge bank balance and is hung like a donkey then it may well prove the way to go

I believe the age of majority in Thailand is 20yo. So, presumably, the need for the father to sign the passport application will fall away when he reaches that age.
Actually as he is under 20 he his still regarded as a child under Thai law. Therefore to obtain a Thai passport both parents have to present themselves at point of application. However this hurdle can be overcome if the Mother could get an affidavit from the boys Father giving permission for the Mother to act on his behalf. But guess here the Father won't play ball

Good, at last some positive news.
The Bangkok elitist military royalist oligarchy will now have to deal with the government in exile on a daily basis while it sends out to its supporters (the majority of the population) information on how to resist this facist takeover.
The generals think their proxies can run the country successfully even after two years of Abbhisit's efforts failed.
This is just adding more fuel to the fire for PTP's supporters.
I would not be at all surprised if there was a civil war in Thailand and the Reds slaughter the lot of them.
I think you may not be too far off the mark. The protests against the coup already seem to be gaining momentum. Provided the protesters remain peaceful, the military will be boxed into a corner and the more likely scenario will be the removal of General P by the so called "watermelon" generals.
Did you accidentally smoke your socks?
NO! but i think that you have got yours pulled over your head and down over your eyes.
Quite agree and the sooner the secret commi Prayuth comes out of the closet and he gets treated to a Mussolini type reception the sooner the Thais can get back to what they are good at - being very friendly and adorable people who just want to live their lives.
-
So which team are these on, do they count as reds or yellows?
I need to know so I can decide whether they are good or corrupt.
Both sides have corrupt (usually the ones pulling the strings) and ones with good intentions.
Anyone know why has the Junta called in academics?
I suspect that the general is a follower of the Pol Pot and this is just the start.

I am disgusted to be British, countries should be supportive of any action to eradicate corruption in Thailand.
I can understand America withholding aid seeing that the main recipients are gusts of the military but I would have thought any company that has invested in Thailand would like to see corruption eradicated, ...unless they illegally purchased their concessions.
And I am disgusted also, being British, that there are still British people out there, like yourself , with an IQ lower than a door mouse, supporting cowardly acts.
Firstly the RT Army were not only the first but also the foremost bunch of thieves set-up solely to protect certain self interests and in return given carte blanch for undertaking any illegal activity necessary to ensure a steady income. Way before Thaksin was born and 1000% more corrupt then he could hope to be . Name one military in the world that owns their own media and has serving generals on the board of so called private companies and are allowed to show off their corrupt earnings by public displays of arrogance with total impunity ? Let's not forget their refugee smuggling exercises. Oh yes I suppose you think that their complicity in cross border drug smuggling is also honorable and professional ?
If you really want to see corruption eradicated then it is they who should be "hung-out to dry", next the RTP and just about every department under them.
This coup is all about maintaining their status quo and their positions which are, and hopefully will be, eroded for good by the general populace not accepting these band of pirates any more.
As you say countries should be supportive of any action to eradicate corruption, but they can not be, nor should they be, supportive of an action that replaces a corrupt but legitimate government with an absolutely corrupt , gun toting, dictatorship which is exactly what this general is moving towards. How many political prisoners were there in 2006 compared to the current period ?

Wonder what they think an acceptable body count will be this time. It was 90 last time, 58 shot in the back by those so brave soldiers. Maybe 500 - 1000 or higher. How long before the generals amuse themselves with a bit of ethnic cleansing up North. After all even if they can not all afford cars up there many have old pick-ups which just get in the way of the general's Mercedes or BMWs ( yes he has several on his 105,000 THB/month salary ). Hopefully the UN will then step in, but given their record they will take action too late after thousands have been killed. This lot will make the Burma military Junta look like angels I suspect. World and public condemnation of their exploitation of the Royhinga sadly seems to have given this mottly excuse for professional military men, extra confidence.
From the OP:
The military believes underground movements would soon surface to oppose the coup. The military dictators and the ammart are deeper into it than they had ever been for a hundred years yet they're still digging.
Good on US Ambassador Kristie Kenney and German Ambassador Rolf Schulze among others for not attending the meeting because, as they said, they want nothing to do with the Thai military as dictators ruling over Thailand. That's an excellent posture by Prez Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Waiting also for the sanctions coming that were referenced in the OP, by the United States and the European Union. I see the State Department has now issued a travel warning against travel to Thailand, which throws the marker down to begin the international processes to isolate the military dictatorship. Military mutiny coup d'état is already passe' in civilized society but this one is beyond the pale.
has only just begun to begin for the militarists, the military dictators, the ammart. There's a severe shitstorm headed their way.
Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Security Situation in Thailand
Thailand Travel Alert
Last Updated: May 23, 2014The U.S. Department of State recommends that U.S. citizens reconsider any non-essential travel to Thailand, particularly Bangkok, due to ongoing political and social unrest and restrictions on internal movements, including an indefinite nighttime curfew throughout Thailand. The Department of State has advised official U.S. government travelers to defer all non-essential travel to Thailand until further notice. This Travel Alert supersedes the Travel Alert issued on May 16, 2014.
I love to see posts that are straight out of the Robert Amsterdam/Thaksin/Red PR book. Well done Publicus. However, most of the decent and normal working class people I have spoken to would not agree with you and stand squarely behind the army. The ammart are a fiction, blown out of all proportion such as your boss' claim to be a democrat. Role on Thaksin: the ultimate Autocrat!
Well it didn't take long.
No hesitation on this one.
The squeeze has begun. It won't happen overnight, nor will the United States do it alone and anyway won't have to do it alone. There will be lots of help from both inside and outside of Thailand.
US Cuts Military Aid To Thailand Following Coup
Although the U.S. provides other forms of aid to Thailand, including $1.3 million for narcotics and law-enforcement, there was around $3.5 million requested for specifically military assistance in 2014. Today's announcement wipes out nearly all of it
Yesterday, Joshua Kulantzick, a senior fellow for Southeast Asia at the Council on Foreign Relations, explained to Business Insider that the U.S. has little to gain from the military's moves and every reason to want to isolate the coup's organizers. He says that military rule following the ouster of an elected government will likely erode existing civil institutions and could destabilize a significant southeast Asian country.
"The military is incapable of actually running the country in terms of the policymaking we would need to see with a pretty complex and high-powered economy," he said, adding that "the potential for violence is now higher because the military has intervened." In 2010, 90 protestors were killed in Bangkok during a rash of political violence.

At least nobody is going to try and overthrow the army, so on that side at least it is a kind of progress.
Wishful thinking.

most international schools stated their half termbreak today
Yes, saw it on Thai PBS. Also seen there: "May 22, 2014 9:14 pm The National Peace and Order Maintaining Council issued a statement ordering all schools in the country to close for three days from May 23-25." Good to know for parents of school going children.
It is possible that some international schools will open tomorrow. The army spokesman just said private & public schools #Thailand #ThaiCoup
<EDIT> Apologies…Update
RT @jplotnick: Message from Bkk Prep Headmaster is that all schools including International must close #ThaiCoup #Thailand

Of course it has only just begun. The international community is fully aware of the total corruption within the Thai armed forces. The only issue is how long will it be before the populas rise up.

she appears to be just another HISO slapper who thinks having flabby thighs, A tree trunk figure and bulging tummy is pretty. Maybe she is in the eyes of some.
However, as the comments made by her have gone viral on facebook, she will have some questions to answer when she travels to other countries, especially her comment that amounts to incitement to commit murder ( executing the red-shirts). Clearly she has an IQ that falls into the lower bound sector of the quotiant.

>> CAPO also threatened to take legal action against the executives of any TV stations that agreed to follow requests by the PDRC, such as broadcasting its statements or stopping broadcasts of CAPO announcements.<<
That truly sucks. How very biased and one sided is that? Of course they should allow open televised debates and an equal balance of statements from all sides as that helps educate the people into making the correct decisions when it comes to voting in a referendum or general election. What is important is, as with UK TV, that ALL sides get and equal air time given to them by the national TV broadcasters and only prosecution for the broadcaster executives IF they do not show that requisite balanced equal peak viewing air time for all sides in their programming. This is one area where the UK get it right so CAPO should look there for sensible guidance in this matter but please ONLY this matter as the UK (or USA) is NOT a good example of true democracy at all !!!
The UK has a crappy electoral system of First Past The Post so nobody should look to the UK for guidance as to true democracy as that UK (and I believe undemocratic USA too) system produces minority supported landslide Governments, so disgusting and undemocratic and why crap leaders like Thatcher got into Government with her party only polling 42% at best of the national vote and even Blair only got just over 50% once in his three election victories and yet Thatcher and Blair got landslide victories. Democracy ?? No bloody way and fair minded democratic person can such such a flawed system !!!!!!!!!!
Amazing. A thread about Thailand turned into a rant against the UK (and USA).
What's your suggestion then genius? Proportional representation that produces minority governments reliant on coalition partners and ends up delivering zilch after all the squabbling and division of the spoils? A one party dictatorship, a democracy like Zimbabwe or Cambodia?
By the way, the UK was the sick man of Europe, virtually ruined by the ineffective Heath and weak union dominated Callaghan governments. The latter was a good example of a government voted in but who then allowed someone else, namely the unions, to dictate policy. Thatcher was needed to counter act and clean all their <deleted> out. But, as often happens she started going too far. Blair, seemed the sensible, middle of the road choice to many. At least he wasn't dictated to by the unions - another example of undemocratic organizations being dominated by extremists with their own agendas.
Irrespective of ones views, red or yellow, they are all an example of recycled human excrement anyway, the real solution is over flying the area and spraying toilet duck, it cleans and removes the cr*p in my toilet so may have similar effects to the dross that is currently circulating on BKK streets in full view of the world press.
Army coup, forge it, most informed people already know the 3rd army are unwilling to support it. The decades/centuries old regime of raping the country and keeping the poor poor, uneducated uneducated is dead, Modern social networks saw to that. It is about time that reality is understood and all parties start working together in a humane an intelligent way to not only resolve the current crisis but put Thailand on the path of significant emergence within ASEAN. The average Thai person is not only capable but worthy of that. Unfortunately the dr*ss on the streets neither represents the poor or the elite. They have their own utterly corrupt agenda, yellow or red. If these morons on either side continue as they are they will play right into the hands of the muslim extremists in the South, now with their connections they ( reds and yellows) will both really be in deep poo

Excellent to avoid the ladies. Wish there was a topless car wash here, I mean the ladies not convertibles, then you would being paying less attention to what they were doing, rather how they were doing it !!!

Well at least giving the "evidence" to the army, rather than the appropriate lawfull officials, will ensure maximum evidence rigging perhaps.

Just to elaborate further, below is the technical explanation for you from my associate at a well known tyre manufacturer here in Thailand ( Note the correct spelling of Tyres unlike the semi-illiterate US version ). Also if you could read what I said I stated "silicone enhanced". Silicone is a polymer that sometimes contains ethol, methyl etc which is known to degrade rubber over time and more so given the long exposure to high ambient temperatures such as here in the tropics. Also I guess from your reply you like the superficial shiny look and are also blind to consider that Thais generally have good tyres. In fact most Thais run with over inflated tyres thus not allowing the tyres to work properly and hence erring to the unsafe category especially during periods of rain. Many commercial vehicles commonly have tyres that are devoid of any tread so I have to ask what back-wood you come from to consider that Thai tyres are generally good ?
I digress and to elaborate on the "silicone enhanced "<deleted>" tyre dressing I discussed earlier then please be mindful of the below. I assumed, wrongly perhaps in your case, that most informed car owners were aware of the dangers of using a solvent (petroleum ) based silicone enhanced dressing, to which I refered to as "<deleted>", but please be mindful of the below in future and ensure you use only type a) in order to not degrade your tyres. As for cost that you seem to have a "hang-up" about, then what price safety ? Better to change tyres that are below their optimal tread depth, over age and/or degraded then keep your head stuck in the sand isn't it ?
a) Water - based silicone dressings, usually a milky-white liquid, (Polydimethylsiloxane (PDS)that doesn’t contain petroleum distillate; silicone oils, waxes, or solvents that can harm rubber and/or vinyl over time. Water-based dressings use a combination of natural oils and polymers to offer a non-greasy, satin finish. Some of these products also contain ultra violet radiation (UVR) blocking agents to help keep tires from cracking, fading and hardening. Most, if not all water-based dressings are environmentally friendly / biodegradable, whereas solvent-based silicone is not.
Solvent-based silicone dressings, usually a clear greasy liquid, (Dimethal (DMS) that contain petroleum solvents as a cleaning agent, they remove the elasticity from vinyl, rubber and paint; causing them to evaporate out of the substrate, leaving behind a dry inflexible surface. Most high gloss products are based upon DMS silicone oil, the difference between water and solvent based is in the carrier system used. Solvent based products use a hydrocarbon silicone to suspend the product. When you apply it, the solvent evaporates leaving the dressing's active ingredients (Silicone oil) behind; solvent-based silicone is not biodegradable.ps In case the above is over your head then in it is "they remove the elasticity from vinyl, rubber" the substantive part of the description that will cause degradation
Now have a nice day
-
Word of advise. If you put that silicon enhanced "<deleted>" tyre shine on then expect degradation of tyre walls. Why people do this is I guess they think tyres should look black and shiny but give no thought to longevity or perhaps just not aware of it. In many countries also 3 mm is minimum tread depth although 5 mm is reccommended so I seriously doubt any tyre with more than 50,000 km on it or/and more than 4 years old is in a safe condition for normal road use either through tread wear or degradation of the rubber, coupled with possible fatigue within the steel brading.
Not of course anybody worries about safety in Thailand.

My question would be why does Tata, an Indian company, need to have meetings in Bangkok? Nice way to get the company to pay for a foreign holiday if you ask me.
According to media it was a board meeting of Tata motors Thailand. Why he was here us irrelevant is it not? The guy is dead !
