Red plates on the pick-up as well. Brand new and now straight to the scrap yard. Oh, and I love the way the taxi stops in the middle of lane 1 rather than pull onto the shoulder. Obviously clueless. TIT.

Won't go to the scrappy.  Just shunt and weld and then like tens of thousands of other poorly repaired pick-ups you will see it again crabbing down the highway somewhere.  Probably turn it into a Song Taew so that when it breaks apart again a few innocent school children will get hurt or worse.

I believe the age of majority in Thailand is 20yo. So, presumably, the need for the father to sign the passport application will fall away when he reaches that age.

Actually as he is under 20 he his still regarded as a child under Thai law.  Therefore to obtain a Thai passport both parents have to present themselves at point of application.  However this hurdle can be overcome if the Mother could get an affidavit from the boys Father giving permission for the Mother to act on his behalf.  But guess here the Father won't play ball

  3. As 99.9% of the supporting data for Thai Government economics is never in the public or domain or released,  there is never any way to corroborate anything so at the end of the year they could claim exports grew by 5.1%  and there is no way to prove otherwise so hence they can spout all kinds of ridiculous figures for the consumption by the populace.  A bit like unemployment figures - pie in the sky

  4. Ultimately all dogs are pack animals and the fact that many are domesticated and have been since before Egyptian times,  does not do away with their natural instincts.  Dogs will be loving and loyal for years but just assume after say 5 years your two dogs or whatever no longer get fed and looked after -  what do you think they will do roam the rice fields or Sois begging for a handout or do you not think that perhaps they will revert to their basic hunting instincts and both look for food together ? That is when they become dangerous to us, but for them it is a natural instinct.

Crossy, over the years I have built 100's of HeathKits.  Radios, TV's, garage door openers, door bells, cruise control, timer light... I could go on.  It was fun and most of all informative.  Good to see they are still active.

And as I am 67 I must come from a similar era, maybe before you guys a bit,  but do kids , young teenagers, actually get to do that stuff anymore ? It was a great learning cycle for life and then with a natural progression into an apprenticeship to learn some trade or other, you felt part of society.  Back to the subject matter and so many youngsters these days have no idea how to use correctly and safely some of the tools discussed in this thread due to not being exposed to "life's learning tools" as we were.

Surely the "reforms" are designed to ensure that ptp or any unapproved party do not get in to power in the forseeable future?

Highly unlikely to see any other user of s44 than the current ( or a proxy) for an equally long time so it does not really matter what polls are made to say.

They do what they are told to do and say what they are told to say without question.  Thai education or is it brainwashing ?  So any so called survey without oversight by a third party gives the result that they are told is required.

We have both in our family. If you are planning on up to a 300 km trips at the weekends I would suggest you look around at something other than these.  But if you must then the PCX would win hands down on power and comfort over any sort of journey.  Understand what you mean by the Filano  having space between the legs but are you really going to have something between your legs for 300 km ?  Get a back box for the PCX and the problem almost solved especially with the extra carrying capacity under the seat.

Same same except I wouldn't' contemplate more than 20 km on any 2 wheeler if you have a four wheeler at hand.

And what were the parents thinking of allowing a 16 year old out at 2 am anyway. Of forgot, even though Thai law states they are responsible until their children are 20 years old,  mostly in effect they don't give a toss.  So now they have a seriously injured son.  Mind you it won't be the boys fault driving without due attention to the road conditions, it will something else.  Wonder if he was wearing a helmet ?

    I wouldn't wonder too long

  10. Thailand has many many laws, mostly completely ignored by everyone including the police.  This will be just another law that will bring extra Tea money to the BIB.  If they were really concerned about young peoples health they would make them prohibitively expensive and/or ban smoking from everywhere except a persons own home and even then ban it there if there are children under the age of 20. And yes another Thai law states just that.
