Thank you Honda for kicking them in the ass with the CBR250R!

It is a local orphanage for babies here in Nonthaburi called Baan Dek On Pakret. They do wonderful work and do a great job taking care of a lot of babies. We have been donating to them for years. Here is a link to their website if anyone is interested.
Thanks, I'll research them a bit more when I get home. Other than donations do you know what sort of voluntary work/stuff people can do there? I suppose volunteer English teaching once a week isn't much good with toddlers. There's an orphanage for infants affected by HIV in Silom that I know accepts volunteers to help take care of them, do you know is it the same with Baan Dek?

It’s official, this new Kawasaki Ninja 300 looks just like the new Ninja 250, but has one huge change under its newly-faired skin: an increase in stroke from 41.2 to 49mm ups engine capacity to 296cc. That means power grows from 31 to 39bhp and torque from 16 to 20lb/ft. There’s also ABS and even a slipper clutch, so not only will this new bike be faster, but it’ll be safer and easier to ride too.

I'm starting to think this is going to be a CBR 250 killer across the powerband.
Given that it's listed as having 50% more HP than the CBR250 I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Let's hope it's released in Thailand...
Let the Honda V Kawa 300-500cc War begin.
Honda aren't going to like this. Time to get their 400/500 together.

Australia can now be added along with Canada and the UK as officially getting the Ninja 300.

Edit:
And the rest of Europe.

So that's officially the UK and Europe, Australia and Canada. It's on the US EPA sheets but they're officially announcing their 2013 on Sept. 9th.
With the refusal to announce the 2013 N250 would be released in Thailand when it was announced for Indo I think it's looking good for Thailand.

there's a good PDF fact/spec sheet on that UK kawa site linked above.
They claim 39HP, how much HP did the 08-12 Ninja250 lose between the crank and the rear wheel? Wasn't it about 20-25%?
Where do the UK's 33HP learner regulations take their reading from, RWHP?
I suspect it will be a lot less than the high 30's in real world HP, unfortunately.

Well well well... The Ninja 300... officially going to be released in the UK and Canada.

With and without ABS...
Still no word of the 2013 N250 to be sold in Thailand? Perhaps we now know why.

2013 models announced for the US.
Silver rims and fairings are gone.
All black (including rims and heat shield)
All red.
A White tri-colour that looks like the 2012 white CBR150 that's here in Thailand.
And..
A Repsol version.

How can an absolute hierarchial society not be racist?
They're not racist, and they just dislike everyone who isn't Thai.
They love the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans. (White and richer)
Burmese, Hilltribers and Cambodians though... (Dark and poorer) They can be towed out to sea and set adrift without food or water to die. Oh wait, the Thai navy did that to 1000 Burmese only a few years ago.

Has anyone found any information on gearing yet so I can get a read on actual performance improvements?
Haven't searched as not that interested.
Have you tried the Indonesian boards? I'm sure there's a good bit of info from those who've been riding them.
Check it out and get back to us.
Just taking a look around now actually, nothing on gearing, but a few comments from Indo.
Hi, I am living in Indonesia and bought a ninja 250 se 2012 a few months ago. The 2013 model with FI (non abs) has been released here already. The se with abs will arrive in October. When i first learnt of its introduction I immediately thought of selling my new bike and buying the 2013 model. I drove down to the kawasaki dealer and luckily they had a black and a white 2013 model out back. It looks just as good in real life as it does in the pictures. The white one is stunning. From a distance it looks great! However new instrument cluster, styling and fuel injection doesn't come cheap. It is priced about 2 million rupiah more than the 2012 model (about £160). Not much added cost. Instead of adding the cost of these upgrades on to the price, kawasaki have cut corners on build quality. It's full of plastic. Luckily it's got less power than the 2012 model so when you nail it hopefully the plastic won't fall off. A real shame, because i wanted the white model.
yes, in a nut shell, it's built like a piece of shit. It has the supersport looks rather than the sport bike look of the 2008 - 2012. A big plus!
Yes the new ninja here has FI with improved low and mid-range torque, a nice little rear hugger, digital dash, wider rear rim, better-looking rear fender and looks very good from a distance. However, all of this comes at a price. Not a marked increase in RRP, but a decrease in build quality. There is no sidestand engine cut-off feature, The plastic is of a poorer quality than the previous model, the side fairings are constructed in about three pieces (follow the front arch down to the bottom on a new 2013 ninja and notice each side fairing is joined by a shoddy piece of plastic). The rear of these fairings, toward the tailpipe, is also unpainted plastic and flimsy as hell.
Perhaps you will consider build quality a smaller issue tham FI or supersport looks. For me, the build quality was the only reason I didn't put my name on the waiting list. If kawi improve build quality in the coming years, i will consider buying one.
The point is; if you are thinking of buying one, take a look for yourself. A picture on the internet nearly persuaded and fooled me into buying one. When you have seen it in the flesh, your decision may be easier!

If I was living here on a fake educational visa and spamming on Thaivisa all day I might get paranoid.
What on Earth are you talking about, my paranoid stalking friend.
That's the last three posts of yours in this thread that are entirely dedicated to me and my personal life.
More than a little creepy, especially seeing as I've only 190 posts on this board. Perhaps if you bought a Honda CBR250R you'd spend more time riding and less time stalking people.

Same here. They can shove their dual pricing. It's racist in my opinion. I have never seen it done anywhere else. So while I miss natural surroundings I will not go to a single place that charges farangs more than Thais.
You're in for a fun stay in Thailand.
Remember, farang is a highly racist term as well.
Have fun!

Online purchases would be even better. That would surely see the end to dual pricing though, as how could it be enforced when buying online?
Quite easily I imagine. Two buttons:
คนไทย: ๑๐๐
Foreigners: 500
When you get to the gate you present your ticket and they make sure you have the correct one.

^ tbh, I think I'd want my child's education to be anything but Thai.
It's just trying to find ways around that while living in Thailand and not paying 10-20 million baht on a good international school throughout their school years.
I'll also be raising them outside of BKK.
Perhaps shoving them into an International School for the last two years (from 16-18) would be the answer.

Jonny, still the same CBR paranoia?
Honda CBR250R paranoia?
It seems his paranoia goes well past only being related to the Honda CBR250R.

Will there be a donation box for a local charity? I think there was last time.
Yes, we will be accepting donations for a local orphanage.
Nice one!

It will be interesting to see how smooth this is in operation.
I bet it's not going to be smooth at all. Will each ticket have information that the park staff have to check before entry?
I foresee the staff mafia taking 2 minutes to scrutinize each ticket thus causing massive tailbacks in order to get their money making scams back.
-
I would think that buying tickets at 7-11 which is a major corporation should eliminate 2 Tier Pricing. 7-11 doesn't discriminate on any other
products in their stores, so I am guessing 2 Tier pricing should be eliminated.
7-11 (if the plan goes ahead) will only be an intermediary. If anything it is likely that the result of all foreigners except those with work permits (even those with DL's) will have to pay the foreigner price.
Only last month an increase in price was announced - 40b to 100b for Thais - 500b for foreigners.
Of course I'm sure the 7-11 staff might charge the foreigner price to non-Asians only.

So how much are they trying to squeeze you for?

Was getting UBC installed a few years ago.
Employee came and said why don't I just buy one of his boxes for a 7000b one time fee, receive every UBC channel and never have to pay a monthly fee.
It lasted 5 years I think and only stopped working a few months ago when they changed the signal from analog to digital. 7000b for him and a saving of almost 100,000b in monthly fees for me.
To relate this to the NP staff (and no doubt low-level management) pilfering money, from what I see and hear it is common in almost every Thai business should the Thai staff be given the chance to.
No doubt the NP service want to cut down on this and this is their new method of tackling the issue. Don't under estimate the Thai's reaction to being 'wronged' and cut out of their thieving profits though, I suspect those about to lose their cash flow will fight back through petty, sabotaging methods.
