Bangkok Bank ATM card renewal
Renewed mine in branch with BB last week. New card is Be1st and fee was 300 + 100 (no idea) Also card does initially not allow on line purchases. Asked for this to be changed ans was told not possible for 48 hrs but can be done via the app. I have a new phone and have had one hell of a job getting the app installed (selfie issues) 30 minutes in the bank smiling, blinking and turning my head with bank staff still got me nowhere. Continued to try at home and was succesful this morning. Looking forward to when my seasoning period is up and I can move!

Applying for Non-Im O marriage visa in London. Any Pitfalls?
I applied for an O visa from London (retirement not marriage) late last year but still relevant. My major mistake, which was entirely my fault, was to not check the information provided before I pressed submit. When I scanned my passport bio page the system picked up a few additional letters and added them to my name. I didn't check, application cancelled and fee lost. Having said that I have applied for a few evisas over recent years and find the system to be fair. If they need additional info the just ask for it. I get the impression they are trying to issue visas not looking for excuses to deny them. As stated above no need to visit embassy, all done on line. My second application took about 5 days. Good luck

First 90 day report
My recent experience at Chiang Mai. Entered on my first Non Imm O on 24/10/25, stamped in till 22/12/25. Applied for 12 month ext on 15/12/25, stamped in till 22/12 next year. 90 day reminder stapled in pp for 14/3/26. Enquired and was told 90 day from initial entry on O not needed.

Bangkok Bank have locked my 400,000 baht balance for 4 months?
My BB branch is in CM and I had the 4 month rule explained to me when I requested the paperwork for my first extension (retirement) last week. No intention of touching the money but my balance and available balance still both show over 800k. Will see if that changes over the next few weeks

3rd VE Entry at CNX after 4 month absence?
I got a SETV from Saigon as a bit of extra security earlier this year. No problem. Processing time probably a few days (mine took longer as I applied just before Tet but was there for a month so wasn't bothered)

Money in bank for non o retirement in uk
Nope. I went to see them and my account is fine and up to date. The issue is if your 800k has been in your account for less than 4 months before your extension then that 800k is frozen for four months after. This is my and the OP's situation hence my reply to him.

Money in bank for non o retirement in uk
I am not the best at technicals but I do get an online monthly statement which I downloaded as a pdf. I uploded this to the evisa site and it was accepted.

Money in bank for non o retirement in uk
I got a non imm O from London in August. One months statement of £18k plus. Screen shot not acceptable. If you do not yet have a Thai bank account do not use Bangkok Bank as they freeze your 800k for 4 months after the day you apply for the bank letters needed for your 12 month extension. Check recent threads on this forum for details

Laos border bounce
edit, apologies I meant Chiang Kong. Should know better.

Laos border bounce
Apologies, not sure why I typed Nong Khai. You are correct it was Chiang Kong.
-
Laos border bounce
Agreed. Friend did a run for a new 60 day visa exempt to Nong Khai over the weekend from Chiang Mai with an agent. mini bus there and back, hand holding filling out forms etc. No questions, no dramas and straight back. A little bit of extra money for a lot of peace of mind (glad I don't have to do this anymore)

Will your UK bank send you a new ATM/Debit card to Thailand?
I have a Revolut account that I opened in the UK. I have received physical cards from them in Vietnam, Indonesia and Chiang Mai (the latter was as recent as last month)

Thaksin’s Private Jet Departed Dubai Ahead of Thai Court Hearing
FlightRadar24. A Bombardier Global 7500 left Seletar about 30mins ago and is currently in the Gulf of Thailand. Not speculating who is on it but it is heading in the direction of Bangkok

Choosing Between DTV and Retirement Visa
I am in Thailand 7 or 8 months a year and have been on Tourist visas and exempts for over 10 years. I now have funds and next week will be applying for Non Imm O (retirement)from London rather than a DTV. My thoughts behind this which are, obviously, personal and subjective are. I am aware of the opportunity cost of tying up 800k in Thailand, it doesn't faze me. I already have a Thai bank account so that is not an issue. I have no intension of working so would be limited to a 'soft' option DTV ( Cooking classes - really!) I have nothing to back this up but do believe that a tightening on the rules for a DTV is a real possibilty. I don't need the hassle. Good luck to those with or applying for a DTV but for me it will be an O and multi re entry permit

Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days to Combat Abuse
No worries. I have been getting tourist visas for 15 years and have lost track of the number of changes over that time. You can only get a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa from your home country.

Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days to Combat Abuse
I got a METV August last year. No financials. That requirement from London was dropped some time ago.

Thailand Cuts Visa-Free Stay to 30 Days to Combat Abuse
Recently got a METV from London. No financials needed. Requirements pretty much same as SETV

onward ticket
If you apply for a METV and get it on, say, 1st Jan it will be valid until 1st July. If you enter Thailand on 2nd Jan you can do the 60 plus 30 leave and return stuff but if you time your last entry to just before expiry (30th June in this example) you will get a further 60 plus 30 giving you a total of 9 months. If you obtain the visa on 1st Jan but do not travel until 1st Feb it will still have the same expiry of 1st July and you will lose one month of possible stay, hence do not apply too early if you wish to max out your stay. Obviously my example is theoretical and you need to give yourself some leeway when applying

onward ticket
I got a METV from London last year. Only provided one flight in and one flight out. You have 6 months to re enter Thailand for the last time from the day the visa is issued so if you want to max out your stay do not apply too early. I made that mistake so went to Vietnam for a while after expiry of METV and got a SETV (probably not needed but I am cautious) Flew back to Thailand this week, no problems.

Successful eSETV Vietnam, a few points.
I am here for a month and loving it. Could well be back for a Non O later in the year!

Successful eSETV Vietnam, a few points.
I didn't mention timing as I wasn't sure it would be helpful because of holidays but I applied Wednesday afternoon and got a request for extra info on Friday. By the time I spotted the mail in junk and replied they were closed for Tet for a week. After reopening I got second request for info on Tuesday, I replied same day and visa issued that afternoon. My guess is if you provide all the correct info on day 1, you could have your visa say day 3

Successful eSETV Vietnam, a few points.
Yes, I plan on a 30 day extension. The flight out I provided was within 60 days and ' throw away' about 1,100B. Bit of pain but as I hope this is the last time I have to mess around with tourist visas or exemptions it will do.
