'Karon Police inspector Chana Suttimard confirmed that police had not removed any of Mr Bean’s belongings from his rented bungalow.'
555, the first thing the police say is 'WE did not take anything from him'. I wonder how much is missing...

Going to the police after 3 days? Maybe because of the ear-medicine he could not go earlier.
The boys may say that it is a tradition in Thailand to take watches in dark sois after midnight...

Rest in peace!

Now we talk numbers
8,000 is finally something that hurts. Once immigration started checking and collecting the information will spread like fire. Things will change. Well, at least for some time.I only wish they would ask such an amount for other things as well: jumping a red light, parking in third lane, burning... you name it.

"The injured included 42 students and 11 teachers, a bus conductor and a pickup truck passenger."
Seems that this was more a trip for the teachers than for the students...

Make a picture of the organization chart you see on the wall of almost every government office or police station and you get them all on one photo

I wish they would install some in Chiang Mai. On the junctions along canal road they could make a fortune.

Widen the road so people can park in second and third row to buy things from the street vendors.
Suthep road in Chiang Mai is another great example how these street vendors and careless drivers can cause traffic jams.

'By American standards, it's not a lot of money. The low price of sex in Pattaya's red-light district is a draw for many sex tourists. It is often as low as eight US dollars.'
250 Baht? Where is that place?

This happened a couple of times in the past at BRU. Seems they don't learn.

'The man refused to take a breathalyzer test, instead reiterating his assertion that, thanks to his connections, no one could touch him.'
He probably has a tattoo as well that protects him and makes him invincable.

Malaysia is a muslim country. So how much wine did his muslim friends drink?

Officials from the Disease Control Department have inspected 271 venues since Thursday and taken legal action against 53 of them for selling alcoholic drinks in prohibited places, including public parks, petrol stations, pharmacies and government offices.
Government offices breaking the law tut tut, maybe they didn't get the memo from above !!
If my maths is correct out of 271 venues checked so far, 53 were found to be offending, this equates to 19.5% (on average)
this is not something I would boast about as being a success story !!
Buying alcohol at pharmacies - possible.
Buying alcohol at Gov offices - that's new.
Do they have special offers / promotions?

So tourists can now travel to both countries with only one visa. Nice.
What about visa-runs. Is it still possible to walk over the bridge in Mae Sai, pay 500 Baht and get a new stamp?
If not Mae Sai will be deserted soon, I guess.

'Now we have the answer to this we can move ahead and the case can be closed.'

There is no shortage of skilled and well-educated labour. Thailand just have to get them from Europe

Naturally the next motor expo will be a 'complete desaster' and everybody will be completely surprized about it

Now Pattaya must be a very safe area if stealing socks is the most serious crime, worth getting on the 'front page'

'He said it would be up to the employers if they want to grant 15-day leave to male employees...'
Up to the employers means no leave
I have never seen a worse place than LOS when it comes to little children. Kids are dumped with grandparents, aunts, relatives (and don't they call everyone their bro or sis?) and I have heard the funniest excuses. They (a couple in their late twenties) are to young to have children... They have no money to feed a family... The job (waitress) is more important... It is better for the child to grow up outside the city (tiny little villages deep in Isaan are much better)...

4 hours to BKK? Even the bus is quicker than that.
And how many times a year do you have to go to your embassy?
I went there once in 6 years to get a new passport...

If I see someone kicking his own dog (or any dog) I would step in, too (well, not with a knife).
Sompop did, Keng attacked him, Sompop defended himself. Sompop kills Keng, dog attacks Sompop.
Sad story totally gone wrong.
