Do you know who 'asked' Thaksin to do the war on drugs? (Don't tell who did it, just yes or no)?
(Hint: there have been no completed investigation about the war on drugs, even after Thaksin was ousted. It's been buried by the army and the Dems)
Ā
Do you know who took the initiative in the Tak Hai incident? (You can answer more explicitly to this one)
Taksin was prime minister when both of these things took place. He was the leader of the country, nothing was initiated unless Thaksin approved itā¦.
Ā
In a democratic country he would have been impeached and convicted for such atrocities!
Instead he was prosecuted for some economical stuffā¦

????Ā
ĀI doubt he will get any support from the thousands of left behind family and friends of the 2500 extrajudicially executed after the Ā«war on drugsĀ» campaign. And Im pretty sure the ditto left behinds of the 84 killed in the Tak Bai incident also will be a bit questionous about this claimā¦

Kill a few traffickers wont matter much as long asā¦..
There is a demand for such drugs - there will always be someone making/producing such drugs and then traffickers to distribute the drugsā¦.

Of course its possible! People do visaruns all the time, stamp out of TH, stamp in to Lao-stamp out of Lao and back and into TH again - in less than an hour.
Ā
Costs 40 USD for a Laos visa though.Ā
So why dont spend some time in Laos?- 3

Ā«Four year plansĀ» I think I can recall a little from history lessons in school where a few other countries also had Ā«4 year plansĀ». If my memory serves me right it wasnt of the most economic succsesfully countries that had such plansā¦.????????

A good few years since i did it by boat but bet it's still possible.Only a hop, skip and a jump.
No its not as it was before the bridge was opened. Now the Immigration and Customs for both Thailand and Laos is at each end of the bridge and the bridge is approx 15 kms kms away from Chiang Khong and similar distance from Huay Xaiā¦

Crossing from Chiang Khong to Huay Xai shouldnt be any problem. I guess only the transport to the bridge from Chiang Khong and from the bridge to Huay Xai can be a bit problemstic as both distances are quite farā¦.

A little of the topic...
Ā
Can you cross easily into Laos by motorcycle from Chong Mek?
Get a Laos visa on arrival as well there?
The most recent post covid experiences I have read suggest that it has been for most riders completely impossible to cross that border on a motorbike. Some other riders were able to cross but had to pay that well known scam (tourguide fee) which is mentioned to be 2000-2500 baht.Ā
So we can say that attempting to cross this border just for a border bounce is probably not worth it. -

Cāmon mate, the government do nothing you say? Dont you remember 2-3 years ago when they put up huge roadside signs saying: Ā«If you drive drunk please drive slowĀ» ????????????

5 hours ago, Gottfrid said:No, it's not true! There are rules for how to deal with different situations. If you are on a main road, the drivers from the side roads have to stop and look. If you are on a crossing with roads considered same value, all have to stop, behind the line if existing, and look for free passage. If there is no line, then you have to make up one in your mind. After that you have traffic lights or a turn coming from the left hand side to watch out for.
However, RIP Keith! Nobody should need to go like that, doing what they love. Regarding 83 year old, and still driving a race bike with a race helmet, that is to me somewhat irresponsible to himself. At that age, you will no longer have the necessary reflexes, even if you think you have. We do not know who is at fault really, even if the news sounds like siding with the biker.Ā
My believe, is also that the woman driving the car went out without looking. The problem, though, was the old bike racer speeding so that is the main reason for not have the possibility to react or brake in time? There is actually a clause in the driving law, that states you should use caution, which also means you should have time to give the people who happens to do wrong free passage if possible. That, is only possible if not speeding.
Race bike? A Honda CB500X which is the bikemodel in the photo is 500 cc bike with around 47 HP and can not in any circumstances be counted as a Ā«race bikeĀ». And Ā«race helmetĀ» - first of all what is a Ā«race helmetĀ»? And secondly - where do you see the socalled Ā«race helmetĀ»? If there is anything called a Ā«race helmetĀ» my guess that would be that of that this helmet model must be the best and most developed and secure helmet type ever! As its made for motorbike racesā¦
