I'm German, now on a 30 allowance of stay after having used my Non-O visa for 15 months.
I plan to request a 30 day extension at the immigration office. Last time I was asked to show my marriage certificate and birth-certificate of my child. Are there any other documents I have to provide apart from the application form?
Where can I find the form online?
When I came back to Thailand via a Lao border checkpoint, the immigration officer there told me, that I could also apply for a 60 day visa extension.
Previously, my visa agent had told me that this was only possible in 2020 due to covid.
What information is correct? Is there a 60 day extension or not?
Thanks for the replies in advance!

I'm German and want to apply for a family visa to unite with minor child for my Thai wife.
Time is short and we live in Chiang Mai so coming to Bangkok is a big trip for us.
Is it possible to apply for a visa at the VFS agency without an appointment?
On their website it is stated that walk-in is possible but it also says that one should check with the branch in the country.
When booking an appointment with the Bangkok branch it shows this option as well which makes me quite confident that it is possible. As stated previously we live in Chiang Mai and are going to travel to Bangkok by car so it would be a bummer if the trip would be in vain.
I would love to confirm this information with the agency directly but it is absolutely impossible to talk to a human operator. When calling the hotline, one can only listen to pre-recroded messages and no human ever picks up the call whatever option we choose.
Is anyone here who has done this before?
I would greatly appreciate if you could provide the information..
Thanks a lot in advance

Thank you for your reply.
I assume you mean before the 17th May ?

Good day,
in the past I remember using a Non-Imm B visa (multiple entry) for up to 15 months by leaving the country once more before it expires. Upon re-entry I would receive another 90 day permit of stay.
Is this still possible?
I (German) am currently on a Non-O (based on marriage, acquired in Savannakhet) which will expire on the 17th of May and am currently allowed to stay until the 28th April 2023.
Thanks for your answers in advance!

As, to my knowledge, the Mae Sai-Tachilek border is still closed, what are my best options to do a border run?
I was thinking of travelling to Chiang Khong and crossing over to Laos there and re-enter Thailand again.
Are there any cheaper / easier options ?
Thanks

The bank statement is not mentioned on the Website of the Consulate and nobody asked for it.
When leaving Thailand and they wanted to see if I had the Thailand pass, but they didn't really scan it.
When re-entering Thailand it was the same.
When applying for the Thai pass, I submitted pictures of my Pakan Sankom (Thai Social Security) Card as well as my accident insurance (Aetna) card. Both of them provide coverage of more than 10.000 USD
When entering Laos I showed them my vaccination certificates but they were not really interested in them.

So, I went to Savannakhet last week.
Everything went fine.
The border is open and the consulate operates as usual.
I was the only Farang there I think.
I got number 9 on the ticket to pick up my passport and I think that was the whole number of people who applied for a visa on that day.
The only thing that changed is that Laos Visa is now 2000 THB or 40 USD.
Here a breakdown of expenses and some additional information about my trip from Chiang Mai to Savannakhet and back.

Is it now possible to travel to Savannakhet like before Covid?
Has anyone done it yet?
I am planning on applying for a Non-O visa based on marriage there.
Do they now require the proof of 400k on a Thai bank account or not?
Are there any other special requirements to enter Laos and to re-enter Thailand?

Sunday mornings at 5 am? I would be surprised if it was artillery training as it usually requires a big manoeuvre field and is usually not conducted near inhabited areas.

You mean mae mod mine in lampang? I thought of that, too but concluded it was to far away.

Hey moonlover, I actually never see a flash so I can't measure the distance.
I asked a friend who works at the airport, he said that they have those cannons but the usually use sirens to scare away the birds so maybe it isn't that after all.

Wow, Moonlover, sounds interesting. That could be it. I just heard them again, around 08:50 AM

Hello, I created a thread about this maybe 1 or 2 years ago. Recently I have noticed these 'boom' sounds again in the early morning hours. It sounds like a series of explosion far away, sometimes like around 10 in a row. I'm living near Wat Umong. The other day I heard them around 4:45am. Today (Sunday 9th February) around 5 am. This time I managed to snap a video. I hope you can see (and hear) this:

I'm sorry, what is KR 2 & 3 ?

Everybody keeps telling me that the 90 day report in Chiang Mai would be so easy and a better alternative to the border run which takes all day.
I am used to doing the border run.
If I do the 90 days report at the immigration, what would I need to show?
Thanks

Hello everyone,
last year I got my Non-O based on marriage from Savannakhet.
Are the visa requirements there still the same?
What is needed exactly?
How is the situation regarding queues or reservations?

Hello everyone,
just want to check if my knowledge is still correct:
I have a Non-O Visa based on marriage, multiple entry. The visa will expire on the 02 October 2019. If I leave the country before this date I should get another 90 days when re-entering the country.
Correct?

I just came back from Laos yesterday to Chiang Mai.
I'm thinking of going to the immigration today to report back.
Or is it possible to do that online now?
-
I know this topic has been around before, I'm just looking for any updated information or changes that might have occurred recently.
I plan to go next week.
What exactly do I need?
Thanks

I'm German.
Do I need to show 20.000 THB in cash when I arrive in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa?
Thanks
-
Does anyone know if at the consulate anyone checks if the return ticket is real or not?

Thanks everyone for the feedback!
The money must be on a bank account? I can not show it in cash?
30 / 60 day extension
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Thanks for your reply.
Well, the immigration office asked me for my marriage certificate and birth certificate when I was there last time (at the end of 15 months use of my Non-O visa based on marriage) when I was applying for a 60 day extension.
Then then told me that the needed the mentioned documents to do that but later my visa agent told me that there was no 60 day extension and I would not be able to extend my visa for 30 days but needed to leave the country (which I did). Thus my confusion.
So, if I understand you correctly, I can now extend my stay by 30 days and after that extend my stay by another 60 days, is that correct?
And which documents do I need aside from the form?
Thanks again
