  1. I forgot to mention that the beaches were very nice, the water was clear and there was no sign of litter or overhead cables !
  2. I spent four days in Da Nang last week and was surprised at how much cheaper everything is in Vietnam compared to Thailand. It was around one third of Thailand prices. Restaurants serve much larger portions of food and the people were genuinely more helpful and polite. The traffic is also not a problem. We experienced no traffic jams at all.
  3. I flew Bangkok to London and came back from Frankfurt, business class recently. The flights were both full and the service and food was very good !
  4. I recently flew on Thai Airways to Europe and back, in business class. The service and food was as good as other airlines I have flown with such as Etihad and Emirates. No complaints at all.
  5. I just successfully registered with a different email address, submitted my details and received an email saying the form was received. How long do they usually take to send you the next reporting date ?
  6. I haven't had a problem with the captchas at my end. Will try what you said though I just also tried to register with a different email address but it doesn't progress to the next page. It just shows 3 white balls bobbing up and down as if it is processing it
  7. Has anybody experienced recent problems with the online 90 day reporting on the website and the app ? I have been trying for the last two days but the website keeps saying "invalid data" when I try to log in. If I try to reset the password it says the same thing. The app lets me log in but when I submit the first page with my details and TM6 number it says 'Arrival information not found"
  8. It can take many years, at least three, costs over 100,000 baht and need to speak Thai. I am not interested in learning any more languages.
  9. Because I am going to be doing some part time work and you can't get a work permit with a retirement extension
  10. You are lucky if you haven't seen any speed traps. Driving from Hua Hin to Bangkok there are normally three or four on the way. They used to be manned by police but now they leave them to operate automatically during the daytime
  11. They asked the witness personal questions about their job and income, how long they had known us, what are our names etc. They had to bring their Tabien Baans and ID cards with photocopies which they had to countersign
  12. The first extension last year they told us we needed two witnesses who live in the same village. This year they said only one. Apparently if you don't know any of the neighbours you should ask the head of the village to be a witness
  13. I and my wife had to sign EVERYTHING again. I would never pay 20,000 baht for an agent.
  14. So they are not really trying to eradicate it, they just want to make money from it
  15. I only put up with the bureaucratic <deleted> here because I like the weather and the scenery and have a great wife. Otherwise I would be on the first flight out.
  16. I keep 800,000 + baht in my account all the time anyway just in case there is a problem with the marriage extension
  17. Well they accepted black ink for 12 years. What's annoying is the constant changing of the requirements. Seeing other people's posts it is also obvious that each office has different rules
  18. Furthermore, last year we had to take two witnesses. The immigration officer also came to our house a week later and took several photos outside the front gate, outside the front door, in the kitchen, in the lounge and in the bedroom and then wanted petrol money. They are coming to do exactly the same this weekend!
