  1. Well, to be honest, it is quite unusual to fly into to Thailand and head straight down to Hat Yai for tourism purposes.

Nonsense, loads of non drinking non whoring Muslims go straight to Hat Yai on a regular basis for.............you guessed it. wink.png

    Shopping?

  2. How many more times must we read "ambushed whilst travelling in a pickup truck" or "whilst on a motorbike"?

When are the armed forces going to be issued with the mere basics of protective equipment?

There is tonnes of armour sitting around idle in army bases all over the place. Why it isn't sent down South I don't know? These guys deserve protection, since it isn't as though Isaan is expecting an invasion from Cambodia or Laos any time soon.

    Good post.

  3. Nevertheless, unless you have one foot in the grave the first line of defense against ill health is to address those life style choices which have a proven impact on health and life expectancy.

Smoking. Drinking. Obesity. Poor diet. Lack of exercise. Stress.

    Boredom also leads to stress.

While he was working on the screenplay, co-writer Frank Cottrell Boyce travelled up to Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland together with Colin Firth to meet the then-91 year old Eric Lomax.[7] Firth said of the film: "I think what is not often addressed is the effect over time. We do sometimes see stories about what it's like coming home from war, we very rarely see stories about what it's like decades later. This is not just a portrait of suffering. It's about relationships ... how that damage interacts with intimate relationships, with love."[5]

The film began shooting in April 2012 in Edinburgh and North Berwick in Scotland, and will later move to locations in Thailand and Queensland in Australia.[1][6][8]
