  1. I've flown often always drank lots of beer, wine whatever and taken sleeping tablets! I'm 36 flew out from uk to Thailand 31st dec and flew back last week. Thing is I've never had swollen feet, ever but on my out to bkk when I arrived my legs and angles were really swollen!

I never had a problem on my return but hey I've been back less than a week.

This topic has been a bit of an eye opener and I will take note. Time to start looking after ones self!

So ill be buying some flight socks/stokings whatever and moving around drinking less alcohol in April when I return!

Thanks for the heads up David48 and I wish you a speedy recovery!!

  2. I'm back in the uk right now. Will be back full time end April. Will ask my wife to ask around when I speak to her in the morning. A English teacher staying in Huai Yot is paying 5000 a month for a similar size house.

    Do you have a budget?

Also where are you both form? I don't know any English around trang although their are a few.

  3. How big a house are you looking for and with much land?!

Do you want to live in the town or outside?

Very few western restaurants its very thai. But its much much cheaper here than phucket. Their is a big Robinson department store that you can buy western food in at a price!

We have just bought land outside of trang and will be building a home July. After our baby's born in may. We're in the middle of nowhere nice and quiet! Will try to be as self sufficient as possible. The good life haha.

  4. I'm looking at starting a 8m x 4m shed in the near future. The brother inlaw said that theirs a guy in nakon selling bags for 4 baht! This seems really cheep after reading your posts.

We have a local guy and he wants 8. I'm back in the uk and bought the wife 30 to try out. She said she is bored of eating mushrooms already haha..

Do ou thinks that these 4 baht bags will be poor quality?

another question how do you pick the mushrooms do you fit them or pull them out of the plastic rings?!

  5. Well we got the land a couple of weeks back. I'm the first farang they have ever had in. Went back today to complete the usufruct. I would not have been able to do it without your help guys as they had no idea what I was going in about. But with the helpful links left by you guys they were able to read on my phone then after consulting various manuals it was done on the three chanote backs for the period of my lifetime. Five hours of my life and 220 baht.

I fly UK on 31st for my last three months in the cold uk then I'm back all in!!!

  6. Haha...

Sorry changmaibruce I have read up many times just a little nervous and got a million things going round my head. As the wife is the only English speaker. I've posted a few threads myself on this and had answers just pooping a little!

    Cheers

Why nervous? You are long enough with the wife and trust her, you are sure nothing can go wrong.

Why even bother to open a thread.

Erm do I trust her?! Dur! Yes it is not about trust when your wife happens to get slammed by a car or tragically get ill! Get a grip man!

  7. Some negative comets! I expect that here tho haha. We did get the land with a chanote (three in total) all done and dusted. Didn't do the usufruct will do that next week. Yes I do trust my wife, we've been together for quite some time not not just a couple of years.

Yes lots of Thai girls are bad, real bad from some experience that some of my friends have had here and my wife was one of the ones to say to me she's no good! Anyway I don't really care about Other people's failed marriages I just look at my own.

My local land registry had never had a farang come with wife it was their first time!

When I do go back next week how do I pronounce the usufruct?! In Thai or is it the same? And when my son is born we will do it again.

    Thanks for the positive advice!
