  1. I also have recently obtained a new passport from the nanny state of australia and had to visit the local immigration here in chonbury to obtain a 30 day ext.

They asked me for a letter from the Oz embassy stating that I have recently obtained a new passport. I called the consular assistance section of the embassy and luckily the lady who answered was most helpful and faxed a brief letter direct to immigration. It was a 1 line letter with the numbers of the old and the new passport on it.

Its obviously a crazy requirement for them to ask for this letter considering I had the old and new passport on me with photo id - thai driving licence. Adopting the 'mai pen rai' attitude, one phone call sorted it for me. I would take the phone number of the oz embassy just in case if I were you.

I was also asked for a letter from the British embassy stating i had obtained a new passport. As the passport applications are processed in Hong Kong, i couldn't get one. Eventually, they transferred the stamps without the proof of a letter. As usual with immigration, it must depend on the officer you get as nothing seems to be consistent there.

  2. Well it's turned into an attack on a bloke who has found out a way of laying hookers which outsmarts the infuriated Thai Visa perverts here.

I say hats off to Big Johnny.

At least he is offering them a service and not just throwing money into the wind like the rest of you saddos.

Many here need to get off your 30,000 baht a month TEFL <deleted> and use your initiative.

The outrage is justifiable. The guy's no better than a nonce

    How so?

I fail to see where he is either lying to anyone nor interfering with underage children.

Your usage of "Nonce" is vile.

He may be getting a load of sex but I fail to see where he is doing anything illegal not immoral.

TEFL/skint pensioner anger and jealousy in play here...

If you think what he is doing isn't immoral then you need to take a good long

look at yourself. Did you perhaps work for the BBC 30 years ago?

  3. I agree, this guy reaps of disgusting. He just sounds like a dirty old man grooming girls, by offering them what he calls 'a better education' or whatever just so he can take advantage of them for his own dirty needs. Truly sick.

First, I accept the term "girls," but let's be clear. These aren't children. These are young women.

What would you prefer? Just lay down a thousand baht and have them in a bar but not contribute to their knowledge and world views? Better?

What else would you prefer? Would you rather see the Western girlfriend experience where the girl wears round heels for a guy who could buy her a fancy car, move her into a fancy house, and buy her diamonds?

Where do you draw the line? What if a classy Western woman puts the make on me in a bar, asking me to dance and buying me a drink?

    Where?

You missed my point. The guy says he doesn't pay them anything. If you want to pay for sex, that is fine because both parties are aware of the situation and there can be no hidden agendas to the situation. But pretending to help them so he can have them for free...well, that is taking just like advantage and manipulation.

  4. Speaking only for myself, and ignoring my past more purely P2P patterns - I don't offer them much in the way of short-term financial compensation these days:

I offer an education that they would never ever be able to afford, isn't in fact offered at any schools I know of (other than the intensive English tutoring), and many hundreds of hours genuinely helping them achieve their goals in striving for a better future for themselves and some security for their parents' old age.

I also help them avoid getting involved in the explicit sex industry, which is usually the only path they and their families see in order to achieve those goals.

I'm very patient and gentle, keep any promises made and am always 100% respectful of their rights to make their own choices about their lives both day-to-day and long-term, and encourage them to increase their confidence to do so vis-୶is their parents' wishes.

Lots more but that's the main bits.

Oh yes, don't smoke, drink or lie, try to even avoid the little "harmless" ones like you don't look fat in that outfit.

    simply disgusting

  5. The OP says he is on an expat package so we can assume his salary is good for Thailand. He also insists money is not important for the Thai women he dates. Those women must know he earns well because as he says, "they are introduced through friends of friends." My question is, would those same women be as interested if he were on a 30,000baht teacher'S salary?

  6. Whilst the true call center does generally provide a decent service, the communication between them and their technicians is poor. A number of times, ive arranged appointments and the technicians have come to my apartment when i haven't been there meaning i've had to reschedule. I tell the woman in the call center please come after 4pm because i am working. Then the technician calls me at 10am telling me he's at my room. This has happened 3 or 4 times over the years.

  7. Recently I went to Kanchanburi and before I went, I went online to check out a place to stay. I was quite surprised to read a number of reviews by travellers who had problems with bedbugs in a few of the resorts there. It reminded of when I first came to thailand as a backpacker and had my own experience with these nasty critters. I stayed in a guesthouse in kao sarn and woke up at 2am feeling something wasn't right, turned on the lights and saw there were about 9 or 10 of these things feeding on me. I packed my bags and checked out there and then. When i told the reception, they shrugged and put a yellow card in the pigeon hole of the room i was staying in. I saw a tv program the other day that said that bedbugs were on the rise in the states and the u.k mainly due to more people traveling, and even 5* star hotels have had problems. Has anyone else experienced these nasty critters?
