Thai law is as good as any in the world, they are good copiers, however logic and intelligence and the will to uphold the law is lacking.

They didn't need a confession because they often type out a confession  and either force him to sign it or forge it. They wanted to locate the stash of drugs or money.

Not sure what you are on about. He takes out 40K once a month. 500,000 went missing, not the same amounts at all.

 

I am a moderator, I do not print fabricated stories. I have seen the bank book. Once a month for years 2 X 20K cash withdrawn, nothing else. Then a few weeks back hundreds of payments to foreign accounts which continued until the account was empty.

My mate is a lovely guy and honest as the day is long, though not smart enough to commit cyber crime.

My biggest concern is the attitude of the bank. Really couldn't care less. Didn't spot unusual activity, which would have has a UK account frozen in no time.

I find it very hard to understand how all this bank activity wasn't noticed. The instant I insert my ATM card or open my SCB app my phone receives an SMS and I receive an email. At least once a day I do a quick balnce check. Its great that the Pope in Rome and moderators in BKK don't err. I gest but you didn't.

I've rented condos thrice in Bangkok in total for 3 years +.

First: The owner returned unexpectedly from the US and gave me 48 hours to vacate then he informed the police I hadn't paid rent for 3 months. I had receipts from his agent and was 1 month in advance. It made no difference have contract and receipts I complained he laughed and he turned off the water and electrify. The next wanted to sell the condo again I have a contract and receipts. My son rang me 8.30 pm when I was shopping. Without notice on a Friday night the water and electricity turned off. They make the rules. I

The third one I rented, after two weeks the owner accused me of switching the expensive batteries in the TV remote for cheap ones. All 3 had one thing in common their ethnicity abmnd not exactly Thai...

There are insiders involved in this particular case simply because a member here who is a victim of this theft has never used his Thai bank issued Debit card not even at an ATM so his card details had to come from a system that holds the data at source - either the bank or the CC company in Thailand

Realistically if they are not involved in this they are in something else.
