  1. This could well be disastrous for the tourist industry, if this gets plenty of coverage from the international press then people will stay away.

Thailand has plenty to pull in visitors but as soon as its perceived to be unsafe its game over. I'm surprised it's tucked away in the local forum, this is huge news.

Right now it is already all around the world.

I don't doubt, news like this spreads fast but to add to my previous post about Thailand making international headlines. On the Aus Google news I had to dig for it, a deliberate search came up with it, it was not headlined at all. Odd.

I've had friends from Australia and the UK contact me about this Incident. Since the Koh Tao murders, every Incident in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao is reported!

  2. I was about 400meters away at the time. I could feel the shock wave of the explosion in the ground! My first reaction was its a Bomb.

The motives may well be Political. The other posibility could be Islamic Insurgents from the south. I won't be going anywhere near venues where Israels contregate as they may be a target. Who ever is responsible, one thing is sure, Tourism will be affected!

  3. "Pol.Col. Sathit hasnt allowed the press to take pictures inside Pom Lamai police booth which raised questions among the press and other media outlets, Pol.Col. Sathit answered shortly that while the investigation is underway nobody would be allowed inside the crime scene."

Are they really learning from the death island Koh Tao ?

Or only because it's one of them?

They may actually realise that it is not a good idea to sell tickets at a crime scene so every tom, dick and Harry with thier dogs can trample all over it and destroy evidence. They may also be starting to understand that gruesome photos of victims plastered all over the media can be distressing to families. They may just be tired of being laughed at on social media around the world and have started to adopt an attitude that resembles some sort of professionalism.

    that would show some reason.

So it is more likely that it is because it is one of their own, not just a foreinger.

Pictures of the Crime scene including the deceased are all over FaceBook now!

  4. Unfortunately Thailand is breeding a population of Simple Minded and Racists Male's. In Koh Samui, many of these drop outs come from Local families with money.

... Is that to match the 'population of Simple Minded and Racist Males' who come from the West to live here, behave like they own the place and spend their whole time drinking, 'doing' local girls, boys and ladyboys for money, endlessly criticizing and looking down on the people and culture of the country that hosts them ? I'm not saying Western expats in Thailand all like this, of course, but there's definitely quite a large group, in some areas more than others.

Yes i agree with you. There are many Bad foreigners in Thailand also. Many of which sell drugs. Many beach bars have foreign drug dealers!

As for these local boys, the family has to take some responsibility!

  5. What the... I'm not hearing loud music from both around Bangkok Hospital and Chaweng Lake. It looks like from the Lake, there's a Thai live concert going on as well as some techno bass sound coming from a club somewhere. I have a feeling it may be that "Chaweng Stadium" near "Sound Club".

I've heard the owners of those clubs are some really big hotshots.

There must indeed be some very influential people and their families on the Island of Samui.

It has often been said that on Samui the local ranchers own the sheriff . . .

That's right, its the wild wild West! There's no law and order at the best of times so the curfew ain't gonna happen here.
