  1. ^^^ And dye it blonde and meet a 19 year old farang on Khao Sarn Road wub.png

Most Thai men don't date girl with dyed blond hair. They prefer long jet black or brown. It looks more conservative in their eyes including their parents. Because dyed blond girls are likely considered as 11 Ror Dor

  2. Find someone your own age. Are your ex 20 y younger than you?

I am early 30 and I am not into guys old enough to be my father...It' weird.

What happening to you is not new nor surprising. As a woman, I have to say this.

There were a few old western guys trying to approach me since they saw many old men with young Thai women and they were over-confident that all Thai women will agree with the relationship. I didn't want to hurt anyone but I couldn't deceive myself. Would you like your girl to deceive herself?

  3. The Thai food in the good Thai restaurants in LA's Thai town is fantastic. The quality of the produce available in the USA is 1000 times better than here and the good Thai chefs really know how to use it to prepare all the classic northern, southern, and Isaan dishes.

It made to fit farang's taste. Most Thais travel there time to time always complain about it. If you can read Thai, try this www.pantip.com/topic/30844953

  4. Only farang's tongue restaurants made the list. No surprise.... I am Thai and I know what delicious Thai food is like. Why do I have to care about it. I am non-alcoholic so wine is not necessary and I can't trade my precepts for haute cusine.

For me, street kow soi taste much better than famous ones because it made for locals not tourists.

  5. HAT ON...

China will not invade Japan IMO, but the U.S. will go to war with China at some point. By 2020-2030. I was wondering what Russia will do. Putin is the wildcard. I have been thinking that the US will setup military bases in Thailand before any move on China. Maybe as security for the problems down south and then expand operations. Vietnam just invited the US back and have expanded their military to defend against China.

The war will be just about every Southeast Asian country, the U.S. vs China. And it is going to be really rough this time. The war will not be limited to Asia, but will be world wide, with the middle east doing their thing. You don't get to watch the war on television as communication satellite will be the first casualties.

But before any of this happens a new global economic "event" will set the stage for war. The US Federal Reserve Bank will fight to control the worlds economies at all costs. Global unrest will set the stage for several years as people just look to survive prior to hostilities breaking out.

I am thinking no more than 500 million dead, mostly Chinese.

It is going to be very awkward as a American walking around some place like Pattaya with so many Russians and Chinese everywhere. smile.png

Not sure how this will affect the cost of short time. smile.png

US will set up mil base in Thailand? If it's possible. My new job coming, as a protester

The redshirt leadership will not give YOU 500 bth to demonstrate unless you have a workpermit !

Nobody cares what the red shirt do. I'll be there by my own accord

  7. May he rest in peace and his family find some kind of solace.

BUT I could not disagree more than with the below thinking. When the heck does common sense take control. Yes we do stupid things but stupid things can be prevented by common sense. Everyone wants regulate this and that to prevent this or that. Enclose balconies? Give me a break. Where there is a way there is a will an some 'person' is still going to take a dive off a balcony. Leap frog from one balcony to another. You can not regulate everything via laws and building codes.

Another tragic waste of life and my condolences to the family.

I think it is getting to the point where Thailand need to introduce new building regulations for high rise hotels. Regulations like having the balconies enclosed to prevent accidents like this.

Yes, surely balconies are not unique to Thailand and most people have learned how to cope with the potential danger they present. Sorry for this young man and his family, but the blame can't be shifted onto building regulations or Thailand.

If someone want to jump from Empire State, you have to tell some authorized person to enclose the balcony and set up electric fence then.

What about the Golden Gate bridge that set the world record of suicide. Is it responsibility of the city that cannot help people from committing suicide?

Do you blame them for no solution other than collecting bodies?

Do you blame electricity post for being on your way while you are walking and chatting on your phone?

    Common sense please

  8. So prostitutes should be denied religion? They probably strongly depend on religion to give them hope.

Prostitution is the consequence for those who had sexual misconduct in previous life.

Buddha didn't deny bargirls. He said everyone can be enlightened no matter how much sin he is. As long as he realize that life is nothing but suffering, he has equal chance to achieve the enlightment.

  9. Almost all house and building in Thailand have a space for spirit house. We invite an angel ( who was a human before and had done ...I don't know how to say ****Thai language removed, this is the English language side of the forum, if you would like to post using Thai language, you can do so in the Thai language forum**** + most purified 5 precepts when he/she was alive. So in Buddhist's belief everyone can be angel ups to how much marit you have done in your life) to watch our houses. It's nothing to do with house owner's career.

  10. My wife is Thai and she has little inclination to return to Thailand except out of necessity and she is not alone in feeling that way

UK has it's problems but generally speaking it is a very SAFE country in which to live and work. Thailand has become like the Philippines where one is always looking over one's shoulder in case there is someone wishing to do one harm

It is not only physical hurt to be wary of. Business dealings from the smallest to the largest are fraught with danger and Thais will take any opportunity to 'rip off' the naive or unsuspecting.

Like the Phil what could have been a nation paradise has degenrated beyond all recognition over the past thirty years. The sickness is terminal

Some rural girls always want to go abroad, escape from poverty. It's no surprise for me.

And quite different from well educated Thais especially who graduated from abroad. They can choose to live here or there. Some prefer other countries but some prefer Thailand depends on what they have experienced.

  11. For me as a Thai, less tourist is better since I want to give my government some lesson that we can not rely our future and economy on tourism alone. Too easy visa issue brings illegal, criminal tourists and illegal workers that causes a lot of problem here. Samurai gangs in Chiangmai already replaced by Burmese gangs. Police turn-burglars from abroad. Thailand suffocated from its own problems. We don't need anymore problem from abroad.

  12. In the west you meet and date a girl and after a while might get to have sex.

In Thailand you meet a girl and have sex then if it was worthwhile you date her.

That might have been the case in the West around 40 years ago but certainly not now. One night stands are considered normal in most Western countries and happen much more frequently than they do in Thailand.

Though if your only experience with Thai women is bar girls then you probably wouldn't know that.

If you spoke Thai, you would understand more.

Oh really?, I speak Thai either but me and non of my friends has had one night stand or nobody I know agree to have it. We normally date guy and have intimate relationship when our parents feel comfortable with it.

I am in Chiang Mai, the same city you claim you live in. So, I am curious what kind of woman you meet?. If they are farang hunters, I don't expect any conservative culture.

  13. Yes, I had the same experience.

Often my Thai friends were also served the wrong food/drinks.

Many of the serving staff are uneducated persons who have worked in that position for less than a few days/weeks and most of them will leave soon again because they aren't able to write/read properly and not able to remember more than 1 or 2 items at a time due to refusing to concentrate on something because it "makes their brain hurt".

I am educated, sir. I earned my first BA years ago and I am doing my second and also working as part time waitress. I had worked full time job for years but now I can't due to my classes. And it's Russian language that hurts my brain, not my job.

You have to realize that waiters have to deal with multiple tasks at the same time. It's tiresome, long hour job.

  14. I belive Thai people think you want talk with them , but the don't want before loosing the face canot speak English look down or run away!

    Cambodia totally different !

Can't speak English = Loosing face? Are you confused?

    Dear OP,

Don't look straight in the eyes, it's intrusive for Thais. Instead, try to focus on their face. My teacher taught me to look at nose bridge between 2 eyes or lower forehead.
